RE: What Ontario parks in 2013 is everyone planing on going to

I'm of the opinion that posting dates as to when my house will be unoccupied is a bad idea. :)
Not one of my worries, house is not empty when dw & I leave. Maybe someday my boys will leave the nest but not yet :R

RE: RV Kayak Rack on 5th wheel

I carry our 2 10 foot kayaks on the roof of our crew cab, I think any longer and I would install a front rack for support.

RE: Crossing International border -- Canada to US

In 2011 we took a trip to PEI from SW Ontario. We traveled through Canada on our way East but on our way home we crossed into Maine and traveled into New Hampshire,Vermont and stayed a couple wonderful days in Lake Placid NY before crossing back into Canada at Buffalo. Since we traveled both sides of the border I personally would recommend the trip along the US side.If you have a couple extra days the Lake Placid stop was well worth it!

I have one and like it when traveling with others, also very handy for traffic updates etc.

RE: Trespassing on a site..

on the other hand my 100lb German Shepherd will greet them and say hello! then again he will keep the wildlife away, which will be an issue with other people!
Funny you mention this as that is what I have been thinking while reading this topic, then again we have been out with friends and with 4 100+ lb Shiloh Sheperds and a Chow (we show them and often camp while going to shows) we have had people try to cut between our trailers! Well maybe now with 5 Shilohs and our old Chow people might think twice? :h

RE: RE: Can I make 1100mi &back in 9 days

Last year we took a trip to from SW Ontario to PEI and back home through the US. We logged about 3400 miles (5 Provinces and 4 States) in 13 days, we did spend 3 full days in PEI, 1 day in Cape Breton and 2 full days in Lake Placid NY on our way home. Other than that it was just overnite stops. We did travel long days but if you and your family are up to that it is well within reality. Don't forget that part of the vacation is seeing the sights while driving :)
Once we retire we will be able to take more time and enjoy the sights, but for now we have to pick and choose the places we spend our time at and put up with the extended driving if we want to travel to far away places.
