RE: Family trip

Be sure and stay at Fort Wilderness. You will love it! It is fun to stay in even if you never went to Disney World. Beverly Beach Camptown at Beverly Beach is right on the ocean front.

RE: we found a cocker spaniel

He was checked out at vet. He was scanned for chip implant. None was there. Checked out all area places that I thought someone might have posted a lost dog. None with his description listed. No response to any ads that I posted. He did have worms and was treated. No heartworms were present. No earmites. The vet gave him his first vacinations for free. In case he had not been vacinated before. The dog will return for further vacinations in one month, as the vet said due to his malnourished condition his immune response might not be adequate this time. He gave him some additional meds for fleas. He still has flea eggs all in his fur, even after his bath. This poor dog is so skinny you could see his skeleton and he could hardly stand up. After being wormed, defleaed and fed, he began to make a dramatic recovery. He has found a wonderful family to take him and they sent me a report that he is doing very very well. I do so very much hope some family is not mourning the loss of this dog, but I am so glad he has found a loving home. Once again, thanks for your concern and helpful hints. If i hear anything else about Oscar i will let you all know.

RE: we found a cocker spaniel

Wanted to thank everyone for their helpful hints. We found a home for the pup today. She had just lost her dog of 16 years in November and was ready for another dog. She had decided she would look for a rescue and our boy just fit the bill. They also have a 10 year old son for the dog to play with. I met her at the vet's office. He was checked out and pronounced generally healthy with the exception of being malnourished. The vet said he should fatten up in a month. He said he had a very good disposition and should make a wonderful pet. I believe our boy found a wonderful home and his new name will be Oscar.

RE: we found a cocker spaniel

Thanks for the replies. We have tried most of the things suggested. Still hoping someone will come to claim him. It is obvious he was someone's pet. He is getting stronger by the day and i believe he may be gaining some weight. I feed him a little every couple of hours. He is very sweet dog and seems very grateful to have some food and a warm place. Hopefully, he will find a home soon. And, yes gbopp, we are calling him Caleb!

we found a cocker spaniel

My daughter found a very emaciated little male cocker spaniel this week. She stopped the car and brought him home. We have cleaned him up and defleaed him. He is holding down his food. Even though he is very weak, he is a friendly little fella. I have tried to find the owners to no avail. If anyone lives in the Beaumont, Texas area and is interested in giving him a good home, please private message me. He is cute as a button and would make someone a good companion. We cannot keep him, as we already own 2 dogs and 3 cats. My husband said not to even think about it.

RE: Dinner Plates and Bowls

We use Corelle plates and bowls. I have real glass glasses and wine glasses. I bought some glass holders made out of foam rubber that glue down to the cabinet shelves. They have circles cut out that hold the glasses in place. I also have one that holds the cups. Been traveling several years this way and nothing has ever broke. Enjoy your new kitchen!

RE: Unexpected Retirement - Keep RV or not?

I would do my best to keep it. you are not getting any younger and probably not any healthier. Enjoy life. You earned it. Have you thought about work kamping to supplement travel expense. Our friends just retired and the past two summers they have went to a beautiful area and have really enjoyed it. All expenses were covered with their salary and they still had plenty of time to sight see in the area.

RE: 1994 Allegro Bay RV

We removed our table and put a daybed in it's place for a while. It fit fine and served it's purpose. However, I missed my table, so i took it out and replaced the table. Look at the Ikea website. They have a lot of different styles of chairs that convert to sleepers.

RE: Washer and Dryer?

Finally got one last year. I love it. It takes a long time to do a load and you have to do small quanities. But, since you are prob hanging around camper why not have a load of clothes going? It is much better than spending that time at a laundramat. We had ours installed, but i have read threads on this forum where people installed their own. I do not think you would regret getting a combo unit.

RE: Going to disney world, need ideas for placestoseeonwayhome?

The St Augustine area is very interesting and pretty. A lot of history. There is a a campground named Beverly Beach Campground at Flagler Beach, where you can park on a bluff, facing the ocean. You can sit in your rv and look at the ocean. It is awesome. You will love the Disney World Campground. Be sure and go down to the dock at night and watch the fireworks.

Looking forward to the update. i love to look at people's remodels. I hope to do that to ours soon. Judging from the view out the window in your pic, yall don't need to go camping. It looks lovely where you live! Must be hard to find a spot prettier than that.

RE: Trip to Williamsburg and Washington, D.C.

We took that same trip a few years ago. You will enjoy it. While we were in Virginia we also toured Thomas Jefferson and George Washington's homes. If they are on your route, I would not miss them. Very interesting.

They have a nice dog park inside the campground where you can take the dogs off leash and let them play. You will love it there. Have fun.

Tire Storage

I know this has been asked before, but here goes. What is the best surface to store your RV tires on? We just had a cover built for our rv. We made the parking surface out of rocks. Is this sufficient to park on? Or should I place something else between the rock and my tires? Thanks in advance. I could not get the answer to pop up in the search function.
