Renew Insurance Yes or No?

At what value to folks usually drop insurance coverage on their rigs? According to NADA my rig is valued around 9 to 10 thousand. Insurance would probably argue that it's worth 7 to 8 thousand. My insurance is $268 a year. I'm not well off but I could afford to replace what I have if I had to. (It would not be a new rig.)

RE: Cleaning FloJet pump

I was able to order the impeller from Camping World's special order desk. Rather expensive but cheaper than a new pump.

RE: TV Antenna Upgrade

I am very pleased with the reception I get with my RS2000, Omnidirectional antenna. The best feature is not having to turn the antenna to receive a signal when changing stations.

Cleaning FloJet pump

I need to remove the propeller on my flojet waste water pump and I lost my manual. Does the retaining nut loosen clockwise or counter-clockwise?

RE: Brake Controller with number display

"I currently have an older Voyager brake controller with different colored lights for the settings. I am color blind and red/green are the colors I can't tell apart. Currently I have to have my wife tell me the colors while i'm adjusting the brakes. If i'm alone, I just set the thing by feel. What controller to y'all suggest I get that has numbers for the settings? "
I bought me a new P3 controller and had it installed today. In setting the adjustments according to instructions. The booster setting is at B2 but no matter what power level I set they will not lock up when engaging the manual lever. They do slow the trailer quickly but do not lock down. Are they suspose to go into a skidding lock up? (I didn't think to try booster level B3.) Do you think maybe I need to adjust the brakes?

RE: Computer cutting off at load up

Thanks for all the advise. The fan came with some white goog in a package. It was barely enough to cover the base of the cooling tower. Maybe it wasn't enough. The computer is very old and not worth taking to a repair shop. Should the computer work for a few minutes without the fan? I thought I;d take it out and see what happens. Also I'll check the memory sticks, the fan tower is very close to them.

Computer cutting off at load up

After replacing the cpu fan cooling system, my grandson's xp computer will not load up; it cut off. Sometimes it gets all the way to starting to load Windows then cuts off. Most of the time it cuts off after recognizing the harddrive. Any ideas on what to look for?

RE: extra firm mattress needs to be softer

We use both the 1" or 1 1/2" memory foam and the feather bed topper. Works great.

Installing a 30 amp Outlet

Need some advise on installing a 30 amp outlet for my camper. The outlet will be about 40feet from the service box and I will have to also use a 25' 30 amp extension cord to reach my 25' camper cord. My plan is to use 8 gauge wire from the service box to the 30 amp RV outlet box. Is Romex available in 8/2 with ground? Or will I have to go with single strand wire in conduit?

RE: AC problems

I had a similar problem without the burned wire smell. My multimeter was reading 113 volts also but my a/c quit. The compressor was running but the forced air fan wouldn' come on. I turned off my fridge and unpluged the TV and a/c worked fine on 20 amp circuit, so I surmized that 113 volts was fine for running the a/c but not for start up.

RE: Sofa bed fix

"We have not been happy with the inflatable air mattress in our pull out sofa. Our 5th wheel is only 1 year old and we have punctured 3 mattresses, necessitating 3 replacements. The stupid thing keeps catching in the rigging when we deflate it and fold the sofa up. I'd pursue another alternative"
I had the same problem until I started folding the deflated mattress sides towards the center before closing up the sofa bed.

RE: Air Conditioner Humming not blowing air

UPDATE;;;; Saturday I replaced the capacitor and still had the same problem. This morning I checked the compressor while it was humming and determined that it was working OK. (the freon lines were cool on one side and hot on the other). I inspected the upper control unit and didn't see any indication of a short in the circuit board. Put every thing back together and still no forced air with the compressor humming/running. I then turned the fridge off and unplugged the television, and the blower fan kicked in. So my problem was low voltage. My next project is to install a 30amp circuit to the carport. Thanks for all the suggestions and advise.

RE: Air Conditioner Humming not blowing air

The fan works fine when in the fan only position. A friend of mine mentioned the capacator was the possible problem. Where would I get one of them? Rv Store or a/c store?

Air Conditioner Humming not blowing air

My camper is connected to a normal household 20 amp circuit. I have used the camper as a spare bedroom many times and turned the A/C unit on to cool it down in the evening. The other morning the a/c would not come on but was humming and no forced air was comming thru the vents. I tried it again just now and same thing humming and no forced air. I checked voltage with ac humming and off. Voltmeter reads 120 without A/C on and 116 with a/c on and humming. I checked it again and the ac doesn't even hum now. Anything I can do except take it to a repair service?
