RE: Flagstaff to Albuquerque RV Parks on I 40

We stopped at the Cibola Sands KOA in Grants, NM and spent a couple of nights. We wanted to see El Morro National Monument and this RV park was right off I-40 and close to El Morro. The campground is basic with no swimming pool if that's important, but the staff was very friendly and the place was clean and very well maintained with lots of room to navigate in and out.

RE: Maintenance Recommedations

a Fleetwood Discovery 40G Bunkhouse?
Yes. It's a 2011 Discovery 40G. Up to this point, it has been at Lazydays at least 6 times for some type of service and with no exception, the inspection of the roof has always indicated no issues. Now that it is off warranty, major cracking had appeared. Might make a skeptic wonder.

RE: Maintenance Recommedations

Thanks for all the great advice. It has been a steep learning curve to climb these past 18 months and the RV.Net forums have been invaluable tool. I am going to tell them not to do those items and will look for a mobile servicer. I need to get the unit waxed, so maybe someone in the Tampa area can take care of the roof and detail.

Maintenance Recommedations

I took my unit into Lazydays for some routine items and just received a call from the service advisor recommending I have a few items done. Although my RV is only 18 months old and has been stored for much of that time in a covered facility, he is telling me that the seals on my roof are showing signs of wear and cracking and need to be redone at a cost of over $1100. Amazingly, the excessive cracking materialized after my one year warranty expired, and the extended warranty plan I have denied coverage. Also, he is recommending to change the filter in my transmission at a cost of nearly $400. I have the Allison 3000 and my RV has around 9000 miles on it. Any advice or price guidance would be much appreciated.

RE: Power Gear leveling systems

When I first got my MH, rear jacks would make a twanging noise on retraction. Didn't think much about it since this was my first RV. Ended up finding out during routine maintenance that they had been improperly installed at the factory. Since then, they have been problem free although low voltage indicator will occasionally light when they are extending, but jacks always seem to work anyway.

Tampa to Philadelphia Route Advice Needed

I am planning to travel from Tampa up to the Philadelphia area in a few weeks and was looking for guidance, advice and any recommendations for the trip. Timing wise, I have about 10 days for travel each way and would like to keep daily driving miles under 350. Stone Mountain, GA is a must do according to my DW so any help or advice from that point north is much appreciated. Coming back, her only must see at this point is Savannah, GA Thanks in advance.

RE: TPMS Disappointment

I too bought the 507 with great expectations and have been really disappointed. The installation instructions were very confusing, the quality of the monitor is well below current electronics standards and false alarms are the norm. All things equal, I rather have my $500 back

RE: RV Damage

I think you are looking at $2000 to have it fixed. I had something similar and that's what I paid to have it done by LazyDays in Tampa.

RE: RV Storage in Florida

I pay $205 per month for a secured covered space with 30 amp service off I-4 exit 10, just outside of Tampa. If your flexible on location, it's about 55 miles from Disney and about 10 miles from Tampa International Airport. Big Toy Storage is a well maintained, spacious facility that has all the amenities an RV owner wants from a storage facility.

RE: What's Behind the Gates of a Class A Only Resort?

I think the thing that really impresses me is the money that the developer was able to make by convincing 79 people that spending upwards of $650K was a good idea for a patch of concrete and an oversized tool shed.
