RE: Wolf Creek 816

Code gone wrong and what you can do to repair it. The text in yellow is the address of your photo. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/7134/addressofcamper_zpsa2c69d9b.png Checked the size so I can show you where to place display size limits. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/7134/picturesize_zps3f7c745b.png When clicking on the insert picture button http://www.rv.net/SharedContent/cfb/images/editortoolbar/image.gif, you just need the 'http' address of the photo and type in 640 for the display size limit. The picture button inserts the img code in brackets for you. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/7134/picturetool_zps468d185b.png After the edits, your reply box should look like the image below. Click the preview button to see the asjustments before the final post. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/7134/finalcode_zps7f469fee.gif Hope this helped. ______________ EDITED to add: Where are my message board manners.... RE: crazy question, is this a bed?

Not a crazy question. You figured out the multipurpose use of it. Last September - there was a post asking what people use for the overhead bunk mattress. LINK to post #26412929 March 2011 - there was a post seeking information on what folks used for a bunk net. LINK to post #24911711

RE: I miss her

@ Cat Lady I may be redundant in this post, but here are some search ideas for using RV.net. Recipe Archive post - pinned to the top of Camp Cooks and Connoisseurs I tried to search for ol'blue and only got a couple of recipes. Next I tried this search phrase in Google site: shavano.home.bresnan.net/Cooks/ ol'blue I got subject pages that had the name listed. Clicking on the links, I could then use Ctrl + F in my browser to search for the ol'blue name. All the recipes come back to the RV.net forum. ================================================== To search the forum itself the results just show posts in the past year. You have to go to Advance Search http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/7134/BBRV/01_advancesearch_zps04d3fc34.png Here are 5 steps using Advance Search http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/7134/BBRV/advancesearch2_zps1e303f82.png Some of my results using Advance Search Your search for 'chicken' in posts by 'ol'blue' found 294 matches. Your search for 'beef' in posts by 'ol'blue' found 193 matches. Your search for 'flour' in posts by 'ol'blue' found 309 matches. Your search for 'dutch oven' in posts by 'ol'blue' found 136 matches. Your search for 'campfire' in posts by 'ol'blue' found 18 matches. -or- you can visit Recipe section @ Family Camping Chat Hope this helps.

RE: Trip Report - 138 Days, 16,255 Miles

I really enjoyed your trip report and photographs when I saw this post last month. I visit the Digital Photography School website from time to time when a subject of interest crosses my RSS feed. Today that subject is The Reality Of Shooting In National Parks. The author had a real pretty shot of Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park, Utah. Then he stepped back, as you did, and showed the reality that photographers face from time to time. Thank you for sharing your trip.

RE: modified scisor steps

Hello - I look forward to seeing your work. I'm not sure where your comfort level is on posting photos so I'll post a few steps. From your camera load the image to your computer From your computer load the image to a photo hosting site From the photo host, copy the address (URL) of the photo - for example RV.net logo's URL is http://www.rv.net/images/forum_logo.gif To post the image click on the Advanced Post Form link (above the quick message box) Use the post photo button http://www.rv.net/SharedContent/cfb/images/editortoolbar/image.gif A window will open. Enter the photo URL. You can type the address or if you copied it, just paste it in. Enter the width of 640. Don't bother with the height it should adjust. - if your photo is vertical, then just enter the height as 640. Some good information with visuals can be found in the Forum Technical Support Picture FAQ's

RE: Photohosting Site that doesn't delete pictures?

adding my 2ยข Many times the places listed below are used for the quick upload of an image to post to a forum without having to sign in to an account. They do offer membership/accounts so you can keep track of your image URL's. These notes are copied from the photohost's respective FAQ page. TINYPIC - How long are images and videos kept? Images and videos in your account will not be removed. Images and videos that are not associated with an account are kept until they have not been viewed for 90 days. After 90 days, they may be removed. IMAGESHACK - How long will my uploaded files be available? Your files will only be deleted if they do not adhere to our Terms of Service. If you are registered, your files will be available forever. If you are not registered, any file that you upload will continue to be available if it is accessed by anyone at least onc per year. IMGUR - How long do you keep the images? As long as images are getting at least 1 view every 6 months, they will stick around forever. After that, your image may be removed to create more space for newer images. If you have a membership/account with a photohost site and upload your image to a message board the image *should* stay in the post. Sometimes the hosting sites change ownership or business focus or simply go out of business. I'm thinking of Yahoo photos and GeoCities. A few things that contribute to image disappearance would be deletion of the account non access of the account after a period of time (you get busy and forget about it) posting an image - then later, in your photohost account, you decide to organize photos into folders. This breaks the photo assigned URL (address)

RE: Firefox toolbar

Glad to learn the issues have been resolved. I did learn a trick I didn't know before. Pressing the ALT key temporarily displays the Menu Bar. So thanks for posting your question.

RE: Firefox toolbar

@ monkey44 Some help links located at Firefox. If you prefer the Menu Bar, just turn the Menu Bar back on. Display the Firefox button menu instead of the menu toolbar Why don't I see it? - Windows Vista and Windows 7, the Firefox button is displayed by default. Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages Display your favorite websites at the top of the Firefox window with the Bookmarks Toolbar. ----- All of these are from the Firefox Tips and Tricks page Hope this gets you back on track.

RE: My web page may be going down

I've used this program. It's free. HTTrack Website Copier http://www.httrack.com/ HTTrack is an easy-to-use offline browser utility. It allows you to download a World Wide website from the Internet to a local directory, building recursively all directories, getting html, images, and other files from the server to your computer. HTTrack arranges the original site's relative link-structure. Simply open a page of the "mirrored" website in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack can also update an existing mirrored site, and resume interrupted downloads. HTTrack is fully configurable, and has an integrated help system.

RE: Advice on trip to Claifornia in December

Regarding trains -- If you make it down to the San Diego area there are a couple of train rides. Balboa Park has a miniature ride by the zoo entrance. It's a half mile long and is a G-16 scale ride. The park also has a San Diego Model Railroad Museum that is pretty amazing. Balboa Park Map PDF East of the city, in Campo, the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum has an hour long train ride. If you decide to do some desert camping in Borrego Springs, in addition to the state park campsite, there are lots of places you can camp overnight, no cost. I understand you can even stay overnight at one of the Galleta Meadows Sculptures. Traveling North or South, if you are anywhere near Sacramento, stop and visit the California State Railroad Museum. ----- some links California State Parks Reservations and Fees California State Map PDF California Road Conditions Information along Historic Highway 395 The Official Travel Resource for the San Diego Region October Activities for Kids (added just for kid ideas) Balboa Park Reuben H. Fleet Science Center - Kid City Balboa Park San Diego Air & Space Museum Have a fun trip.

RE: Help please

Yes, you will need to use a photo hosting site to post your photo in your message. There are many sites/options available to use. For simplicity, I also will recommend using a free Photobucket account. Tutorials can be found here: Open Roads Forum > Forum Technical Suppor > RV.Net Tutorials and Picture related FAQ's Scroll down to the subhead Posting pictures in text Then click on Posting Pictures Using PhotoBucket.Com For The Host Site The link will go to pulsar's how-to instructions.
