RE: Free camping in West Central Florida in January

Not in West Central, but in North Central Florida the Ocala Natinal Forest has numerous Boondocking sites.

RE: Class B+ to C Mercedes Diesel 3.0 V-6 Engines

I had a B Sprinter loved the vehicle, a blast to drive. But not enough room, moved to a 2009 Born Free 22' Chevy 8 cy. In town 9.5 mph on highway 12+ at 60 mph.
My concern with the Sprinter is what is going to happen with the service, I agree in the short term Chrysler will continue to handle but at some point it will be moving over to Mercedes, our local dealer is looking forward to selling the brand (I have a Mercedes), but noted there is no way his facility could handle a Class C or bigger.

RE: Costco now selling pressure pro

The retail selling term is called "MAP pricing". Manufactured Advertised Price. The retailer's agreement with the manufacturer states that you cannot advertise a lower price for a specific product. This practice has been brought before the courts and has held in every challenge.

RE: Riding in Class C without seatbelts

Ok, I am going to jump in, I also have kids and we travel every weekend to bike events. We require helmets when they ride bikes and seat belts when they are in the MH. These are lap belts and not 3 point belts, I realize they are not as safe, my concern is not the big accident I hope we never have, but when someone pulls out in front of me and I have to hit the breaks or make some other quick move. I would hate to see on of the kids slamming into a wall or windshield.

RE: Bed rails for over-cab bed

What do you attach the straps to?
Steve
I ordered my Born Free Coach with these installed, but looks like they mounted into the studs in side walls.

RE: Bed rails for over-cab bed

I got a set of woven straps like you see used on the back of pickups, works perfect.

RE: Mercedes to sell Sprinter, not Dodge in 2010

How many Mercedes Dealers are capable of hanlding large vehicles. I was getting car serviced at local Mercedes dealer and he said maybe the Sprinter Van but no way the larger motorhomes.

RE: Generac generator problem

southernkilowatt,
thanks for the response, does only when compressor cycles on, but does not do it on initial start up. Microwave has no effect. Unit is a 2009 Class C 14 hrs on generator

Generac generator problem

3.6 kw gasoline generator, Generac
discription of problem:
Starts and runs fine, turn on air conditioneer again runs ok but some strain, which from past experience is common. The problem is when the compressor cycles back on generator quits making electricity but continues to run, after several seconds electric back on and all is ok until next cycle of compressor.
Your thoughts on what might be the issue?
airconditioneer is 13.5 Duotherm

RE: Fork dropped into blackwater tank

Boy is this getting off topic:
Flatware, most flatware made today is 18/0 stainless steel, that means it is 18% chrome O% nickel and the remainder is scrap and virgin steel and it will be magnetic. 18/8 is a much better grade and more expensive it is 18% chrome and 8% nickel and will probably not be magnetic, nickel is the ingredient that prevents rusting and pitting but is also the most costly compentent in the better grades of stainless steel (more nickel more corrission resistant). Most all flatware is made from 300 series stainless steel with different amounts of nickel.
I manage a company that manufactures and imports commerical stainles foodservice products.

RE: Non-Sprinter motorhome with molded cab-over + bed?

Greydawy,
for the same resaon as you, I just went from a Class B (Roadtrek on the Sprinter to a Born Free 22ft cabover with rear door. The rear door really opens up the living space in the unit.
Good luck on your search.

RE: Stopped at McMahon's in Irvine to look at B's today

CSG,
Had the same issue as you with the growing family, moved from a 17 RT to an Adventurous, still now enough room for four, although many are doing it. Moved to a Born Free 22FT cab over rear door.
However I still have the Class B mind set and as soon as the kids are grown I will be moving back.

RE: Generator on while driving?

we do not boondock much so it is important that we exercise our generator on a regular basis. I like the idea of doing my generator exercising while we are cruising down the road.

RE: R.V. World Inc. of Nokomis AD

In the past I have purchased two RT's from RV World. a 170 and an Adverturous, great selection of B's and good pricing, but it takes some negoiating.
However their service is awful.
