RE: Adding a rear "porch" to TC

Here's a link to the post about my deck. CLICKY
Chuck
By the way, I've added tail lights to the bottom of the deck as it covers the camper's when folded up for travel.

RE: Centering devices - how much slop to you allow?

I use SPOTTS setup. It centers as well as raises my camper enough to clear the clearance lights on my truck. With my camper being in same spot every time I don't have adjust my Fast Gun tie downs when I load.

RE: Arctic Man-Would you believe, 1,500 RVs in the Alaska Range

Chuck, you over there? Several friends from Nenana were packing their motorhome and heading over as they do each year. I am thinking I read that during that week it is the third largest " town" in Alaska. LOL.
Hi Joe,
I haven't gone for several years now. I worked as a volunteer and race officail for many years, now we go down the weekend after the race and play. We have it mostly to ourselves then.
Here's a couple of links to our outings in 2009 & 2010.

RE: cell antenna booster

Funny how in all their wisdom the Apples, Androids etc. of the world have never figured out that many users need an external antenna jack on the device...
That is a fact.
My ATT Elevate-3C65 Hot Spot does have external antenna connections and they have an external antenna for it as well. I have both and they work well here in my home. I have a very strong cell signal here so I can't say how well it works with a weak signal since I puchased it after we parked the camper last fall.

RE: 5000 pound truck camper???

Hi Roy,
Our 2005 Okanagan ULT 116 was advertised to have a dry weight of 3,465 pounds. Later models said 3,975 pounds. Ours, wet, with factory options and all our gear tipped the scales at just over 6,000 pounds.
Anybody out there that owns one of these I have pictures I took at the factory of the fully equipped basement before the floor was installed. PM me if you would like copies.

RE: Boondocking

Here's what we consider "Boondocking". Camped on the terminal moraine of the Canwell Glacier in the heart of the Alaska Range. We drove several miles up a not-too-bad cat track to get here from the Richardson Highway.

RE: okanagan truck camper good or bad?

Hey Scottyquickfeet,
As you probably already know Okanagan went out of business with the economy downturn. We have an 08 106 UDB and love it. Their 2008 website is still up. Here's a link to THEIR WEBSITE in case you haven't found it already. Scroll down to the 90W.
Like the others have said, do some bargaining and be sure you mention that the factory went out of business.
Good Luck,
Chuck

RE: The story of Bear...and his eulogy

Hey Whazoo,
We understand your loss. We had Goldie for 15 years before she had to be put down because of kidney failure. Its the hardest thing we've ever had to do.
Our condolences,

RE: How do you post your photos?

Hey everyone, thanks for your comments and suggestions. I subscribed to Photo Bucket and uploaded some photos. I must have got into the new version and I completely got lost and gave up for the time being anyway.
sue.t I will look into your suggestion of using ftp to post them on my own site. I currently use a very old version of MS Front Page to modify my site which I have had for 15 years. I looked into my domain host's site, web.com, and they have added a lot of new aids so I might find something there as well.
Again, thanks everyone,
Chuck

How do you post your photos?

Currently I post my photos on my own WEBSITE and then link them to this forum. While it works well it is rather labor intensive and takes a lot of time. I can only update my website from my desktop computer or I have to download the whole site to my laptop before making changes with it if I'm on the road as I am now. I know some of you use Photo Bucket. Do you like it, how about other online services?
Thanks,
Chuck

Both my Garmin 76C and my Delorme inReach which transmits & receives from Iridium satellites as well as receives the GPS birds work fine just tossed on the dash in our rig. They both work inside the camper also.

RE: What do you do with your large dogs?

Hi Jason,
Our late Yellow went with us every where. She was an 80 pounder but we didn't take her in the camper until she had gotten over chewing. We have a crew cab so there was lots of room in the truck for her. As you can see from the picture she would have her back half in the rear seat and her front on the console between us. She slept on the bed with us. We could have had two of her on the bed where she spent a lot of time when we were up. She also liked taking up the foot space under the dinette. Hope you can work it out with out going to a TT. We boon-dock a lot and we go places we couldn't take a TT.

RE: Slideout models, bath use when traveling

My 2008 Lance 1191 is fully usable (dinette, fridge, toilet, shower, bed, tv, stove, sink, etc, with the slide fully in. Lots more room with it out.
John
Hi John,
I should have been clearer when I referred to "more space". I was talking about the space gained in the dinette and bath room. Because they both protrude into and take up the area that would be required to walk through the camper with the slide in they are both larger. For us, the 7 second wait for the slide to open is a small price to pay for the added space.
Cheers,
Chuck
