air conditioner placement

I have a four winds 29r class c. The roof ac is positioned right above the living area which means that one side blows directly in the overhead compartment and the other one blow3s out toward the bedroom. seems to me if I moved it back tp the next vent at least I cou7ld get some cooling on me and the noise level in the living area would be reduced. What you think and has anybody done it?

RE: How can I tell if rv roof is EPDM or TPO

Why not call Four Winds and ask them I have a 2007 and it is TPO.

RE: Yellowing Mirrors and Windshield Cap

If the mirrors were made by Velvac, they will replace them for free. They know they had a paint problem. They replaced mine at no cost, and I kept the old ones I took off.

wingard stationary dome antenna power switch

I have a wingard stationary domed antenna and have managed to blow the 12v from vehicle fuse. Does anybody know what this wire is attached to to produce the vehicle power? I assume the vehicle fuse box, but don't know. If I cant find it, is it possible to just tap into the overhead lights to get the 12v power, or does it have to come from the vehicle itself? Thanks for your input

RE: Extended Towing

Just start the car and run through the towing procedure everyday before leaving. I have done that on numerous trips with the crv in tow and never had a problem Good Luck

RE: Vinyl molding

If I am not wrong, eternabond makes a double sided tape that should work just fine. It comes in different widths so it may be something you can use without having to cut it down. Go online and do a search on eternabond tape. It is pretty expensive compared to other stuff, but this stuff works great and will last a lifetime. Good luck

Firestone Tires

Anybody using firestone tires and how do you like them. I have Michelins on right now, but just blew an inside dual, and wiped out all of my propane lines. $1000 repair estimate. These tires only had 26 thousand miles and are on a 2007 29 foot four winds. I will not replace them with another set of Michelins. Thanks

RE: LP Gas Odor question

Some of these posts are ridiculous. If you smell propane, shut everything off and get it checked out by somebody that knows what they are doing. Mine is in the camping world shop right now for an LP inspection. Found out if my regulator that is leaking, and no, not at the fittings, the regulator itself. That service cost $77.00 but is much better than being blown up.

RE: Brake controller

It should be near the steering colum , somewhere below the radio. You will need to pull on the wires because they are probably bundled up. This is the way it is on a Ford pickup. I would think it is probably the same on the 450, but who knows. Good luck

Wingard stationary dome satellite antenna

I recently had the power switch go bad on my wingard dome antenna. I bought a new switch, but as I was installing it, I hit the live wire against the ground. Not a smart or good thing I know. Now, when I turn the switch on nothing happens even though I have ground to ground and hot to hot. Possibley a blown control board? Any ideas out there will be appreciated. I know I am a dope for not protecting the two, but I am sensitive so please dont call me an idiot. LOL

RE: pulling ceiling down

Pull the inside vent enclosure. In many cases the wiring is already run and lies in the cover molding, and usually ends up by the generator in a J box. Good luck

RE: removing Eclipse radio from E-450 dash

I would think you could remove the radio by going to walmart and buying a ford radio removal tool. It should slide in the two holes to the left and right of the radio, and release it so you can just slide it out. As I recall that tool is located with the radios and only costs a few dollars. I dont think you can remove one without the tool

RE: Onan Marquis 5000 quits after a while?

This may sound crazy, but it doesnt cost anything and only takes a couple of minutes. My Onan 4000 Gen did the same thing. There is a lever on the carburetor, mine says altitude, but whatever it says, raise if up some. Took care of my problem and now it will run 48 hours without shutting down. Would shut down every 20 mins before I did this. Makes no sense but it worked for me. Good Luck

RE: tow dolly for Prius

I have a 2012 prius-v and Toyota told me not to use a tow dolly. Must be towed with all four wheels on a trailer. Electric motors are on all wheels of this particular model.
