RE: Wild Bills, Deadwood SD

As a veteran of 22 sturgis bike rallys, your there for the bikes and the rides, not the campground.

RE: Montauk SP in MO ?

If you can't get a reservation at Montauk SP, Bennett Spring SP (near Lebanon, MO) or Roaring River SP (Cassville, MO) are also nice trout stream parks. They are both off I-44. Marcia And don't forget about trout fishing at Meramac Springs Park in St. James. It's also right off of I-44, no crowds, no need for a reservation. We actually like this park better than the other 3 just because it's not fished as heavy. I would think that time of year at Montauk reservations wouldn't be needed. We have always got in, as long as it was before May. Good luck.

RE: Advice: Pulling 28 Foot Car Hauler

WE have a 28ft MH and pull a 24ft Haulmark enclosed trailer full of motorcycles. We are 56ft total length and have always been able to fit in a campground, even the ones they said we wouldn't fit. There is useually quite a bit of room both fore and aft for this, its just convincing them to let you do it. Again, never had a problem after 11 + years of travel. As far as the length goes, not that tough to learn, because for the most part the trailer just follows.

RE: Yellowstone Road Question

Yes our "dirt bikes" are street legal. We are very mindful of where and how we ride with regards to National Parks. Our bikes are quiet and let us go where most can not. A good example would be some of the riding we do in South Dakota. We go every year to the rally with 500,000 other bikers, but never see a one while riding gravel roads and trails. And the scenery off road is second to none. I was just curious if Yellowstone, and I guess the surrounding area had to offer. Thanks for all the replies. Chris.

Yellowstone Road Question

Are there interior roads in Yellowstone that go off the beaten path? Not looking for serious off roading type roads, just off the beaten path type dirt roads. We own street legal dirt bikes ( Dual Sports )and love riding in National Parks, Jeep Trails, ect. ect. Is there these type of roads ????

RE: Older motorhomes

We bought our 97 Fleetwood Flair 12 years ago and its been a great rv. 454 chevy motor has been good, plugs and wires is all I've done there. We have put 2 inverters in, and a little brake work, and thats it. We wouldn't think twice about criss crossing the nation in it. We have put about 50,0000 miles on it so far and still feel confident we can go anywhere. We have towed either a 24foot or 14 foot trailer with motorcycles the whole time. Do yearly oil changes, and now a better battery maintenance routine and that's it.

RE: Separate garage or not?

We too are looking for a toyhauler. I will want a separate garage. I case of storms I like to put the bikes inside, out of harms way.

South. I really don't think this is the answer he was looking for. Maybe not, but it was funny. Welcome to the forum. Great advice with a little humor thrown in.

RE: pulling a toad and motorcycle

When we tow our bigger 24ft trailer our total length is 56 feet or so. When pulling into a campground, and being told we were too long I'd ask if I could look around. We could always back into a smaller site and hang the trailer over a bit. On a 24ft trailer that amounts to 8ft. The campground owners / host / state park people never minded. Hook two 30amp land lines together and we were good.:)

RE: Toy Hauler Friendly Midwest Destination?

Chadwick gets it's share of out of staters for sure. If you like the touristy trap stuff, Branson isn't tyhat far away either. World class trout fishing also on the MO/AR state line. But if you are a dirt bike or atv rider, Chadwick is really, really GOOD.
