RE: Great trip to Ocotillo Wells

We camped S22 off holly road, came in tuesday afternoon left sunday morning. I thought it was perfect weather until the dust storm friday night till saturday afternoon. It seemed their was a light breeze most of the time to keep alot of the dust blowing away from the rides. We saw a few medi vac helicopters take some people out but did not know them or what happened. Cant wait till xmas through new years trip.
Yea we were camped just a little further down from Holly Road. The dust storm Friday night was fun. We left on Saturday to try to beat some of the traffic...Hope to get back down there for new years after I fix my bike.....

RE: Great trip to Ocotillo Wells

We were off s22. Your right it didnt seem as crowded this year. We also had deep fried turkey and 2 trash can turkeys and all the great sides..Way better than sitting at home waiting to eat. We did one long ride to shell reef which was nice but the dust was so bad and visibility was about zero. Still a fun ride.

Great trip to Ocotillo Wells

Just wanted to see how everyones trip was at Ocotillo Wells. We had a great trip. Winds kicked up Friday into Saturday with few drops of rain. The other days were sunny and warm (hot). No injuries in our group which is always a good thing. I heard a tent caught fire in group next to us with kids in it but heard they all got out. Saw lots of emergency veh activity and air lifts on Saturday. Anyone heard of any of the accidents or outcome of any of these?

RE: Echo bay, Lake Mead?

Too bad the river is down so low. Use to rent houseboats from Echo Bay...Wish we could drag the trailer to sandy point...

RE: Question on outside speakers?

I am in the process of replacing mine at the moment. Looking at the Polk Marine coaxials. Heard a lot of good things about them so I think I'm gonna give them a shot. Also going to run mine off a 4 channel amp (powering the inside 2 as well). Screw the neighbors, if it's too loud, you're too old!
Can't go wrong with Polk, great quality in my experience.
I agree with Y-Guy, as soon as something comes up here about our outside speakers some Blue Hair has to bash us. Thanks goodness they stay in the RV parks.
That is some funny stuff!!

RE: Question on outside speakers?

I'm sure your neighbors will like the improved sound quality and volume with the new speakers.
Nice! Its not about how loud they will go but how nice they sound! You should camp next to me sometime!

Question on outside speakers?

Anyone change out the outside speakers? Mine sound horible and was looking for suggestions on what type to put it that would sound good. Looks like the ones I have are 5 or 6" speakers which require a square end srewdriver head to get them out. Do I have to modify the existing holes?

RE: Locking up valuables while camping

Never had anything stolen. Still I string a cable lock through bikes and couple other expensive things. Takes 2 minutes.

RE: Aerospace 303 streaking

They say its only good for graphics and plastics etc, not the finish itself. I Love the stuff and use it on my cars.

RE: Flat tire question?

Follow up: I took tire in for repair. He pulled a long nail out that went in through one of the nobbys. New tire tube all for only 25 bucks which is a smoking deal I thought. I Ran a couple errands and returned home to put tire back on and it was flat again! Took it back and he pulled the rest of the nail out fixed it again and all is good.

RE: Flat tire question?

Ok I used the soap and water trick. Valve stem area is fine. I found some bubbles coming from the other bolt and nut that sticks out of inside of rim???Dont know what that bolt does? I could tighten it but not really sure what it is for and what I need to do. Appears thats the source of air loss? Thanks for all the help.

RE: Flat tire question?

Thanks for all the info. I tightend the vavle stem but still lost air. Do those go bad? I will try the water thing and then I may just have to take the tire in.

Flat tire question?

I have a Yamaha yz125 that has been sitting in my garge since last riding season. It has been on a stand with wheels off the ground. The rear tire is flat. I put air in it and next day flat again. Do you think tube needs to be changed or does it just need to be riden once I put air back in it? Dumb question but I just had the tube changed 2 rides ago and we are leaving on a trip for Holloween. :@

RE: Generator on new Keystone energy

It could also be a pinched or kinked fuel line between the tank and generator. I had this problem on my previous trailer which happened to be a Keystone as well.
This is the exact same thing that happend to my generator. They replaced the oil temp sensor. Than they said oil presure was low so they put a new motor on it. Than I finally drag it back to the dealer and they said it was a pinched fuel line behind the generator. Now it runs great.

RE: RV Roadside Service

As far as I understood, AAA here in Ca does not tow your rig. Even with the rv added on they only give you 200.00 worth of service and you pay the rest. They are not set up for rv's. I canceled them after trying to use them when my truck broke down while towing my trailer. I sacrificed my dmv services and maps etc after 20 plus years and went with good sam. Only used GS once for a lock out on my wifes reg veh and they responded quick with no problems.
