RE: Power gear levelers on Monaco dp
I have had to replace the air sensor switch under the parking brake as it would not recognize that the parking brake was on. Monaco tech was very helpful. You can tell if it is working by the illumination of the red warning light for parking brake. If it is dim or not on that switch is failing.I have always followed along with your posts as we have the same vintage and purchased the coach about the same time. Good luck!
RE: Cold weather condensation solution?
We had very little, almost no condensation with dual pane windows and vent cracked open. The year before that with a single pane 5th wheel we had to use a dehumidifier even with a vent open. I was surprised at the big difference.
RE: Beware of Flying J
The title of that thread will come up on searches now forever more. That is how folks bomb businesses. I would like to think that was not the OP`s desire, but who knows?
RE: San Antonio
We enjoyed our stay at Taveler`s World this past Jan. It is a nice location for visiting the downtown locations and touring the missions. We liked the Mexican restaurant right across the street!
RE: Cargo Slide trays
We had ours installed right at the More/ryde plant in Elkhart. They treat you very nice when you visit and wait for your work to be done.
RE: Why snowbird vs full-time?
We consider ourselves "third timers" we snowbird but also travel another month or more during the summer. We love having a home base with our family, there are many ways to do this RV thing.
RE: Call to DP owners esp Monaco Diplomat owners
I have a 2006 Knight that we have just about recouped the price of the extended policy in 9 months. You never know and can not rely upon others abilities or fortunes. The Dip is the next step up from ours and I think you will enjoy the wide open floor-plan.
RE: Putting in a Residental Fridge in Monaco
Well Thunder Mountain I guess you looked at our Samsung 197 as well and we are very happy with it. We do velcro the handles when we travel. The floor above our furnace was lowered and the folks at ESC in Elkhart did a great job!
RE: Snowbirds or RVers from the Southwest
I am trying 1/2" pipe insulation with the slit and cut to length. I have seen others use this method so I am trying it out.
RE: Is RV Surplus Salvage in Elkhart still worth a trip?
I have found some items there that were a good find. I was there right after the move and then a couple months later. I do not think it is worthless but probably not worth a long trip.
RE: 2005 Monaco unbearable front end noise
There are weep holes on the bottom of the side windows that will make noise when the little cover comes off. They are only necessary below the driver, passenger and door windows. According to Atwood their purpose is to stop wind noise. To see if this is the source put some tape over the holes to see if it removes the sound.
