RE: A question about transmissions

No problem I've heard of. I'd check with a reputable performance shop, such as http://www.dieselperformance.com/.

RE: Might be forced to buy Diesel

Ram offers gas powered 3500 pickups with a 6-speed auto. Probably a good choice, given your commute. Enjoy shopping.

If you want more truck, skip the 3/4 and buy a 1-ton.

RE: Help with gun selection

The rice farms out here make a lot of money on duck and geese hunting. Lead shot is prohibited. Is lead shot allowed on waterfowl habitat in Texas?

RE: Anyone know about the Chevy 409 truck engine ?

The 348's and 409's looked the same and I don't remember much of a power difference between them. The transmissions were typically 5&2's. They could move a load, but just didn't have the torque diesels had, not to mention the downhill braking of a Jake Brake. The valve covers were unique and will make a neat display.

I don't really know anything about them other than driving dump trucks that had them. What I remember is they used lots of gas.

RE: Help with gun selection

Those choices will just irritate 'gators and wild hogs. A big stick would will work without danger of ricochets. Good luck.

70# in front and 80# in the rear and spare has worked well for 20 years or so in my diesel pickups.

RE: Denali package

Don't worry about factoring in "packages, upgrades or extras" when pricing an RV, just make a wholesale offer.

RE: Anyone heard of these tires?

They are made by Nakang Tire Company in Taiwan.
Oh that's just peachy. Do you know if they're prone to failures like other chinese brands?
Sorry, I don't have any experience with them. I am happy with the Maxxis on my trailer. What are you putting tires on?

I'd look at used name brands. Suggest you get one for yourself while you're at it. Have fun.
