RE: LongWeekends Project Thread

My dad had one mounted like that in his MH. We mounted a piece of 3/4 ply inside the cabinet and put the wall mount on that. The flatscreen sits just outside of the frame that was there. He takes it down to travel, but that is only a couple of times a year, south in the winter and north in the spring.

RE: Slide Out Won't Go In

Well here is how it ended. The dealer coudn't look at until after Thanksgiving, but they gave us a name of an independent repairman. After a couple of calls he and his helper came out yesterday morning. He found that one of the gears had jumped the track and jammed inside the rail. After a couple of hours of what my dad described as "working their *@@es off", they got it moving. The cost was much less than I had feared and he hopes to be packed up and heading south today.

RE: Slide Out Won't Go In

I spoke with someone at Equalizer, Steve I believe, He was quite helpful. Last night we openned the valves and had 5 guys there to push, aside from my 81 year old dad, it's his MH, I think at 240lbs, I was the little guy in the bunch. We moved it about 3 inches. I believe that something is jammed up in the front rail. We are trying to locate someone that can come out and look at it. Even if they just get it closed so he can head south and have it repaired down there. There are RV repairmen onsite in the park down there all winter long.

RE: Slide Out Won't Go In

The coach is level?
The coach is level. It has been in the same position, with the slide out, since April. I think that may be part of the problem. He fulltimes in the MH, Michigan in the Summer and Florida in the Winter. I suspect that sitting open for six months at a time is contributing to the issue.
I did reach someone at Equalizer Systems, the manufacturer of the slide mechanism, and was told that the manual override is "Push on it". He did give me some advice that may make it easier. We are rounding up a few big guys to try again tonight.

RE: Slide Out Won't Go In

The system appears to be built by Equalizer Systems, I am going to try calling them for help.

RE: Slide Out Won't Go In

It does not look like this is a Lippert system. I have done some searching and haven't found one yet that looks like what he has. Basically there is one hydraulic cylinder in the center and the two outer rails each have an inside rack and are tied together via a steel shaft that runs under the MH floor. It seems to me that there should be someway to turn the shaft manually and pull the slide in, but obviously, I don't want to break anything trying.
Anybody got any thoughts on this?

How can I tell if it is a Lippert system?

Slide Out Won't Go In

My dad has 2005 Sun Voyager (by Gulfstream) He has had difficulty in the past with the forward slide-out. It took several people pushing to get it started and then it would close normally, I don't believe he has had any trouble opening it. We tried to close it today so he can head south for the winter and only got it to move about an inch, we were then able to return it to fully open. The slide is obviously quite different from the one on my Jayco hybrid and I could not see a way to manually crank it in.
Has anyone out there had any experience with this? The slide-out includes the couch and dinette and is operated with Hydraulics. I can see the hydraulic cylinder and a portion of the shaft the keeps the two rails in sync(it runs above the LP tank) but not the rails or any place to put a crank on it. How can we access the mechanical part of the unit, or move it manually?

RE: Tie-downs screwed to floor

I have had very little problem with stuff like that moving around, We just pack it in tight and use a few blankets around them. Even Bicycles, I just wrap them up and stack them on the floor.

RE: Radio antenna

I have a 2005 23b, the radio is mounted in the cabinet above the sink. The antenna lead probably would be in there.

RE: Michigan camping

If you are looking at the Port Huron area, we have enjoyed the KOA in Waddams, a little west of PH on I-69. Also the one in Holly on I-75. It is between work and home, so I can commute if I need to. Our favorite state park is probably Sleeper in Caseville, in the thumb.

RE: What do you like the most about your Hybrid?

We like the amount of room compared to other trailers the same size. And the open airflow with the ends unzipped.

RE: Exterior Shower

We have used ours often to wash dishes too large for the sink or the portable gas grill. We like to keep dirt out of the HTT as much as possible.
