RE: Wondering about old cars and trucks, from my youth

Also the Plymouth Valiants of the early 60's. Slant 6 engine with a three speed on the floor. Great cars.....but ugly....unless you liked the lookzs.

RE: Wondering about old cars and trucks, from my youth

In fact, we used to remove the pin in the shifter, flip the lever over, reinstall the pin, and have an upside down left hand shift....Yep, memories.... I did this on my 41 Ford convertible. I could shift with my left hand thus keeping my right around my girlfriends shoulder......or whatever... Yep, memories.

RE: Want to maintain batteries while unit is parked 6 months

Sadly it isn't the discharge that is the villain, it's sulfation. Depending on a half dozen variables the rate of hard sulfation can range from modest to appreciable. Latticed sulfation is extremely difficult to revert back into solution. Letting batteries sit for six months would most likely take 6 months off their lifespan. The warmer it is the worse the problem. righton...righton...righton, Heat is the main killer of batteries left to cook in a vehicle in the Summer. Doesn't matter if they are disconnected or left on a quality battery maintainer. Leaving them fully charged and disconnected is as good as any other way if you have to leave them but be prepared for less overall battery life. So says Exide when I asked them the question.

RE: Who has been to Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point) Mexico

Been going to Playa de Oro since the 80's. It has always been a very nice, well maintained, and well managed park. As others have said, the spaces are small and maneuvering is tight. The park was designed for RV's of the day and not for the 4 slide behemoths that folks have nowadays. They have enlarged the park somewhat and can accommodate larger rigs easily in that area. No beachfront sites there though. You will enjoy the place.

Taurus 2 1/2 inch "Judge" questions.

Anybody own or have familiarity with the subject revolver? Don't want to start a discussion or a row over my 2nd amendment rights......just want to obtain some information on this gun....which looks like a very good, all around, close quarter, side piece. Thanks for any information,

RE: Why do some web pages reload automatically?

Are you talking about a website where there are likely to be ongoing changes? Sports? Weather? Yeah...the Drudge Report...an up to the minute news site. I would still prefer to reload it manually but if I can't I'll live with it. Thanks to all for your responses.

Why do some web pages reload automatically?

I use Google Chrome as my browser. One website(that I visit regularly) automatically reloads every three or four minutes. None of the other websites I frequent does that Anybody have a solution> TIA, Roger

RE: Any mileage benefits from after market overdrive?

I've had Gear Vendors installed in two vehicles both used for towing trailers or 5th wheels. Could only use "double overdrive" when running solo and fuel mileage did improve under that condition.....but I didn't run solo very much. The major benefit for me was the ability to split every gear....very handy when towing heavily loaded. I wouldn't install one on a motorhome expecting any fuel mileage improvement because your rig is too heavy to use double overdrive very often. The split gear function may be handy in mountainous terrain but not valuable enough to justify the costs. Just my humble but experienced opinion.
