RE: Boondocking at Walmart

I am looking at the replies on this forum and some of the rigs in the signatures. There are Class "A"s on here worth anywhere from 10,000.00 to 400,00.00 and everything in between.
It's laughable that you guys spend time in Walmart parking lots to save a few bucks.
Sorta more laughable its any of your damn business ( or anyone else ) really, heck I just spent the night the other day at our local golf course waiting until the next morning to get into the campground and they seemed fine with it.

RE: Let Us Install Prices Misleading

It appears some of you think every installation on every RV ever made is exactly the same. You can always take your RV someplace besides CW to get work done on it if you don't like the price.
You betcha I do, but maybe you can become one of their company PR guys the attitude seems to fit. :B

RE: Campgrounds with water parks/water slides

Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Al has it all ( water slides, large pool, water slides etc along with the new lazy river coming for the summer. They also have a very nice eighteen hole golf course and the Ice Skating Rink is on site as well that is open year round. Fishing nearby on Flint Creek and Tenn River. You can walk to any of these attractions from the campground.

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

I was talking about drilling rigs and he got confused with refinedies. They usually work 14 days on and 14 off. Looks like a lot of the prior danger is gone now. I am at a Flying J fight now. 3.29, RV lane satalite pumps, long handled washers. They want the RV business. Tbis one doesnt say Pilot though so not sure what is going on.
lol ya I gotcha, here in North Al, exit 334 (I-65) the pilot was 3.35 for gas and diesel was 3.89 yesterday.

RE: Putting in a Residental Fridge in Monaco

Ha anyone installed a residential Fridge in a Monaco that has the furnace under it? If so what model was used.
Thanks
We used the Fridgidaire Gallery model# LGUI1849LP1 18 cu ft and it fit good with only a 2" piece of trim around the edges. Ours came from lowes.

RE: Campgrounds Near Kansas City

Try Independence, Mo. We've used one there, very convenient to KC. if you don't mind being on the Missouri side.
Ya we used that one also and was not bad at all, Campus RV Park I think it was, pretty close to everything around there.

RE: Personal Cart for Hosting?

Wow, I wouldn't even consider buying a cart to do a volunteer job. We've been hosting for 7 years too, and have never not been given a cart if it was needed for the job. I also would not use my private vehicle.
they are really taking advantage of you if you have to buy something to do the job.
We are not being "forced", or even asked to get a cart. To fill out the story a little, I am slightly disabled and cannot walk more than 100 feet due to circulation problems in my legs. When I told the volunteer coordinator about havinig to use the cart to get around, she was fine with it.
But alas, I about wore the wheels of my little mobility scooter last year, so now I have a small golf cart. I have met a few other hosts over the years that have thier own private cart.
As my orignal post asked:
How many hosts use thier own private carts?
I recently used mine when we were volunteers at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge only because I had it already from another place and it made life easier and was used for pleasure while there as well.

RE: Need help, Pensacola/Panama City Area

Planning a spring trip to FL panhandle area but having problems deciding on two campgrounds one near Pensacola and one near Panama City. So many choices many look good, would like at least water and elect and close to coast. Can stay at military campgrounds. Looking at Fort Picken, Blue Angels, Panama City CSS and Destin Fam Camp but would consider any others. Would appreciate any suggestions.
Don't the Navy base there have a rv park as well? Also there is that little state forest up hwy 79 close to Ebro ( Pine Log ) I think it is. They have 50 amp with water there if you are looking for something simple. I think its about 10 miles or so from back beach rd ( hwy 98).

RE: Cars in Truck lanes at rest areas

I agree ya can't fix stupid...........
Last time I went to a Cracker Barrell all the RV spots had a car in them So I pulled across 7 open car spots. Complained to the Manager about it and let him know where I parked. He just did not care.....seemed it was out of his hands. Emailed & complained to Cracker Barrell they didn't care either..... Guess what found out several of the cars were their own employees.......
I have noticed on I74 / Rt 220 in NC their new rest stops / welcome centers have Comercial Truck Parking / seperate RV / trailer parking & car parking.
Attaboy you showed them, I cant park so I will screw 7 more folks then complain that someone parked in my place. :h

RE: At Walmart today

From a September interview:
"We drive this Jesus bus around the country mostly to beaches, parks and skateboard parks and Walmarts and McDonalds," said traveling preacher Cass Sowinski, "and we tell people about Jesus and how easy it is to get saved."
Driving around on rims of gold so some day people can walks the streets of gold is Sowinski's mission. His focus for the past week has been Coos Bay.
He plans to head up the coast to Florence later this week.
"I'm an evangelist," he said, "and with the bus doing the job of just shining the sign about Jesus' love, I don't have to knock on doors, chase people around. I just hang around my bus with my dog and we play a lot."
Sowinski said that during his career he has successfully ministered to 51 people who are curious about the bus.
Aside from selling religious t-shirts for gas money, many Christians donate food and funds to keep him going.
That was interesting, thanks for posting that.

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

I think 33 years puts you into the informed category. What do you think of the oil companies?
Not sure how to answer ya LR, but they are any other corporation they do try to make as much money as they can and lately they seem to be doing a good job of it. A little late IMO with all the mergers that have happened the past ten years or so there is now so much foreign owners involved since they were the ones investing tons of money to upgrade facilities to process there oil.
