RE: Fuse Elec. Jack?

A multi meter set to amps and in series will tell you the amps drawn when you turn it on. Yes but I think heavy load combinations for TT & TV will load motor a lot more than I can get under test. With WDH I have to lift TV & TT pretty high to install bars. Guess I could just buy different sizes and go up one if it blows.

RE: Liteweight TT's with Murphy Beds

Murphy bed in our Puma 20. Foam mattres is in two parts, about 2/3 at head and 1/3 at foot. Both are enclosed in cloth cover and connected on top forming a hings . When you want couch-simply fold foot end up on top of the other. Back of couch hinges between arms and you just stand it up to make couch. Bed is not hidden and must be covered with something to look decent. Otherwise good arrangement. Bed to couch and back is a very simple and short process.

RE: Parrot handsfree for mobile phone

Parrot is not cheap but works great. Ours outlasted one SUV and now in TV. Very handy for backing. DW calls me and talks me back. As mentioned new radios have addon bluetooth modules. Dual (brand) radio available at walmart and module-BTM60 on ebay. That's what I did for TV. So we now have hands free in TV & TT. Parrot install recommends mike on drivers side in corner. Hard for passenger to join conversation. Otherwise we love it. Original install was included in price and cost $60.00 to move to new TV.

RE: Cool Mods

Another Kinda-sorta mod. During recent 1,800 mi trip I got grease on pants more than once from hitch ball. Medium foam coffee cup was the answer. Removed a bit of rim to make cup shorter and pressed upsidedown cup onto greasy ball. Six or seven campsites later the same cup is still doing the job. Unexpected benefits: I put fresh grease in bottom of cup and regrease ball eveytime I put the cup back on and white cup is much easier to see with backup camera, so much so that I will paint front of hitch white also.

RE: Ultralight with Murphy Bed?

Re. Murphy bed. Our Puma has one and we have been very happy. Installed new memory foam mattress and can still fold it up fully made with a rope and hooks on each side to hold it in folded position. Less than 60 seconds from bed to couch or couch to bed.

RE: Suburban Water heater problems

Same problem on our Puma. I havn't done anything yet. Both days we had the problem were rainy/high humidity days. No problem otherwise. Was thinking about finding something to coat circuit board.

RE: Letter of Authority?

From OP: I did not define Protect. Simply looking for something better than telling neighbor to "protect my stuff." For example storm damage to roof or a broken window. My letter might give OK up $2,000 to protect my property-no questions asked. I'm not sure everyones trusted neighbor would spend money without asking first. And yes Texas has a law that basically says you can use deadly force to protect my property-if I tell it is OK to "protect my property." I am not asking anyone to do that but I want them covered should they choose to do so. I was thinking surely someone else at RVU has done something other than verbal instructions. If not maybe I can get enough ideas from your input. You're worrying way too much. Have an alarm system installed, it will monitor your windows for glass breakage and sets off the alarm. If it goes off the company has a list furnished by you as to order of notification before they call LE dispatch. Trade cell numbers with your neighbor. As to roof damage, if a strong storm hits and you get damage to the roof have your neighbor call you and then you call your insurance company with your neighbors name and number as a point of contact. As I said in an earlier post we travel a lot and for extended times, once for two years and with the Alarm system we have (installed at no cost) have had peace of mine. I have no "written authorization" with my neighbors, only an agreement for service with my Alarm company. There are more then one who do this, I have ADT, it runs about 90.00 a qtr and I do get an insurance break because of the system. Quit stressing yourself out over something that may not happen. Call an Alarm company and they will come out and show you what you need. Most of them install for no cost, only charge for monitoring. And if you have home damage, thats what Home Owner policies are for. 1. Re: alarm company, I own one and have pretty much have state-of-the-art. And that's why I am looking to fill in the blanks on what can happen. 2. Call me? I can be without cell sevice: no signal, phone broke, battery died etc. 3. Police response 30-60 minutes. We live in the country. And generally they won't wait for anyone unless there is absolutly nothing else going on. 4. As a long time business owner I believe in plans and written instructions. I don't think I'm worried-just trying to cover all the bases. 5. We have family items that can't be replaced, insurance or not. I would rather do some extra planning. I guess what I want to do is more than most are willing to mess with.

TT Makes My Eyes Burn?

After a few days of being closed my eyes burn for a minute or less on entry. TT is three years so I don't think it is fumes from construction material. My best guess is ammonia leak from frig but if so why can't I smell it. Any ideas?

RE: Cool Mods

Finally finished the much talked about 30 Amp receptacle to get rid of mouse hole and free up more inside storage. With receptacle parts total project cost under $25.00 for flanged receptical and new connector for cut end of power cord. Added inside handle to screen door slider. Cut 4" DWV PVC in half lengthwise for cheap stinky hose support rack. Used one piece from above to line bottom of rear bumper hose storage. Now hose slides in and out with ease and no worries about rusty inside damaging hose.

Letter of Authority?

Haven't seen this discussed yet. We plan to be on the road a lot in the next few years and I am trying to put something in writing that will give our neighbor our permission to protect our property. Any ideas?

RE: Cool Mods

Scissor jack slip cover. Next trip will be lots of rain and some dirt roads. Wondering how to clean threads before operating and it occurred to to me "why get them dirty?" With jack almost all the way up I cut pieces of foam pipe insulation (with slit down side) and slipped over threads and left with slit pointing to rear. Bingo disposable thread protectors. Back-up idea. With jacks fully retracted simply cover front with a strip of duct tape.

RE: Roof Damage - Acorns!??

Here on the Bar Bob Ranch we have one tree that puts out acorns the size of golf balls and bigger in a good year.

RE: Cool Mods

DW didn't like factory mattress so we got a memory foam replacement. But we have a murphy bed couch and original foam mattress was two part with a cloth hinge so it could be folded back allowing couch seatback to be opened. Didn't want to cut new foam and go thru trouble of sewing a cover. Folding new one back was like working with a spring, only heavy weights would hold it. Solution was simple. Screw eye on both sides of platform near head. Small rope with snap hook between eyes now holds fully made bed in folded postion and rope stores under mattress.
