RE: What the Heck is this?

That could be a clear adaptor for your fifth hitch so you can see that the grease has been properly applied before hooking up.........IMHO, of course

RE: Winterizing

Were you running the taps to pull anti???? You may have placed most of those gallons in your waste tank???? Once it starts running out the faucets you can shut it off to there because you have filled that line...do each tap individually and then insure you have a few cups in each trap...only takes about 2.5 gal for our 35' A....IMHO, of course

RE: Tires in great shape, but getting old

My advice and practice (FWIW) is to have a HONEST tire dealer/tech inspect the tires inside and out and go with his advice.....these guys see tires every day and they specialize in their condition....IMHO, of course

RE: problems with Camping World

You specifically asked about Council Bluffs IA...yes, I had them replace our reefer with a new one. I couldn't understand why they wouldn't let us back in the coach for a number of hours. When we DID get back inside I found the reason why they delayed....they had forced the frig through the entrance door without removing the assist handle and scratched the paint off the rail. The only reason we found out was because the paint was still wet......not a word from CW when we got the unit back. People were friendly enough but NOT totally honest with their customers in our case.....IMHO, of course

RE: Durango Colo. back country

Durango is a little south of COLORADO'S BEST but would be a good "home" for the adventure lands in the high country....a good experience while in Durango would be the DSNGRR train ride from Durango to Silverton...not BOTH WAYS (MAKES A LONG DAY)....IMHO, of course

RE: dish problems

How do you make adjustments to level your Dish stand?
Personally, in the past 4 years I've been using DISH the levelling has NOT been the critical issue for alignment since the skew in DISH seems to be more for local channels than nationals......just use the signal meter to align sat 110 and then move a little up and west for 119...hasn't taken more than 15 min to set up on most occasions.....compass DOES help.....IMHO, of course

RE: dish problems

Hey FootballCamper,
I tried the upside-down setup on my first dish. I went to a verticle mount with the PVC stand and it works great. Still very low-profile and that's with a new Slimline HD dish now... Setup in a couple minutes...

Did the same thing with my DISH system when the "upside-down" version was too deep for me to fathom....also works fine with little wind resistance...IMHO, of course

If the water inlet were to be installed I would think the LEAST one would do is GLUE the cover shut and label NO WATER INLET....IMHO, of course

BTW - I was the original OP. Come home and enjoy a handful of nuts and a beer (or two). Not exactly a spoiled RV'r - hard to spoil an ex-jarhead.
I don't drink beer, can I ask you not to? same goes for campfires.....IMHO, of course (and thanx for your service)

RE: Mud flaps or bra for towing

Wow, after the mixed responses here on bra, flap or PAT I've decided NOT to buy any of them or tow 4-down (which I had been considering for the convenience)....I'll just keep putting the Wrangler on the open trailer where it has ridden for 4 years without ANY damage from road debris......IMHO, of course

RE: Fueling Limits at Pumps, Grrrrrrrrr!

Yaknow, I've NEVER had this problem since I learned to punch the "pay inside" button and take my card with....and that's with up to 75 or 80 gallons of diesel last year.....not a big deal to "go inside" since it's not miles down the road from the pump and it always feels good to stretch the legs...IMHO, of course

RE: Taylor Park CO

Goldsp8, I would love to know why they only list half of the electric sites on line as reservable. The other half are not listed. Are they being occuplied by NFS employees doing work in the area or what? If they are walk in then like most places they would be listed as such. I can't get anyone at any office anywhere to come up with an answer. I would really appreciate it if you would come back and solve this mystery for me. Just curious, thanks.
Noticed the same thing.....were at Lakeview last month and were told by host that they were "first come-first serve"...host was Texan and most "nonreservable" were occupied by Texans...not sure if that is significant but the listing on reservation site certainly is no help in explaining the situation...IMHO, of course

RE: Taylor Park CO

As an addendum...if you are SELFSUFFICIENT (ie generator, water, etc) then site #2 (reservable) is the BEST site for view in the WHOLE campground (including electrics)...IMHO, of course

Lakeview has a lower circle w/electric but I don't think you can reserve.....first come, first serve.....find more info at recreation.gov under Lakeview Gunnison...
