RE: cheapest place for disney tickets

AAA, getawaytoday.com and Costco. We have used all three and save money over buying at the park.

RE: Love our RV repairman!

Also forgot to mention that they tucked in the trim pieces that were coming out at the top and replaced the cap on the jack.

RE: Love our RV repairman!

I didn't post the name because I wasn't sure if it violated forum rules. The name of the business is Rightway RV in Kelso. It is run by a husband and wife team and they are very hands on. When they replaced the refrigerator in our old trailer, it took longer than they thought and my hubby had to go to work so they delivered the trailer to our house for us.

Love our RV repairman!

With all the bad stories we hear about RV dealerships, etc., I wanted to share a good story: We had to take our new-to-us trailer in to fix a window that had just started leaking. The window needed to me removed, etc., etc. We were also going to have him reseal the other windows just in case. He said he would take a look at the roof to see if it needed to be resealed. He has done work for us on our old trailer and we were happy with him. Little did we know just how honest he is. When my hubby picked up the trailer, one of the shop's workers misunderstood that the roof only needed to be checked and instead, he resealed it. He could have lied to us and told us that the roof needed to be resealed and charged us for it but he was honest and didn't charge us for it. It's so nice to have a good, trustworthy person we can rely on for our RV needs.

RE: visiting California

We love southern California but have never RV'd down there. The major traffic areas are LA County and the Inland Empire (Corona, Riverside). Their roads are worse than most roads I have been on in the Pacific NW. But their beaches more than make up for it!

RE: Tossing Tacky Decor in TT

I think the correct color is mauve. Wedgewood blue and mauve were the "it" colors in the 80's. My mom loved those colors back then. ;)

RE: Bacon grease

I do my bacon on sheet pans in the oven. I let the grease cool down a bit. I've been doing it for years and have never had a problem.;) We do this at home. Foil lined cookie sheet, wait for grease to solidify and then throw the foil away.

RE: Bacon grease

We usually cook two to three packages of bacon at one time when we are camping. We use some of the bacon grease for cooking potatoes and eggs but the excess grease gets thrown on the campfire. It's a great fire starter. ;)

RE: Movies To Add To Camper Collection

That is a great list of movies! You can share your collection with me anytime! Almost forgot about some of them.

RE: I hate this mattress!

Another one for the Costco memory foam gel topper. Our mattress is the worst of the worst and the topper seems to have worked a miracle.

RE: 5th wheel + bad knees, good idea?

I also have bad knees and stairs are a concern for me. When we were looking to upgrade, the only 5th wheel we looked at had a rear bathroom. A lot of 5th wheels have the bathroom up top near the bedroom which means I would have to go up two sets of steps whenever I had to use the bathroom and that wouldn't work long term. We decided to go with another travel trailer. If you're not concerned about stairs, I would think that any RV could work. You would just need to be aware of what kind of stabilizers it has, where the dump access is, etc.

RE: Movies To Add To Camper Collection

When I first started this project I bought a 104 DVD case. I thought I had have a difficult time filling it up with good movies. I'm currently up to about 170 movies and I had to purchase a second DVD binder so when all is said and done I'll have just over 200 movies available. I'll post the final list when I'm done. That's dedication! ;) We might have 50-75 DVDs. With Netflix, we quit buying them. Now that we have a new trailer, we might have to get a TV/DVD and start collecting movies again. Please share your list when you're done!

RE: Movies To Add To Camper Collection

I haven't camped by myself before but will probably be doing that this summer. Thank heavens my dog has a bladder of steel so I won't have to be doing any late night walks! :)

RE: Movies To Add To Camper Collection

We like to watch scary, paranormal movies. Not the slasher kind of stuff but more along the lines The Exorcist. Makes the dark outside even darker when the movie is over and we have to walk the dog. OMGosh! I would never do this. I am such a big chicken. My hubby would be walking the dog by himself. Haha!
