RE: Help me decide on a car

I love the Chrysler 300 What a beautiful car!! I also like the Chevy Malibu or the Impala. My favorite is the Chrysler Sebring Convertible. I would definitely look at a low mileage, one owner USED vehicle. A 2007 or 2008 vehicle would be a good choice. I NEVER will buy NEW.... you can find some really good bargains if you shop around. I would ask your wife what she wants, then start shopping around on the internet. You can really find some sweet deals online!! Good Luck, Shirl & Rich

RE: What is with that new WallyWorld cell-phone-deal ?

Well, what does this mean?? If you don't use your 1,000 minutes, does this mean you lose them?? Do you HAVE to re-up the card every 30 days?? Also, can you pay and extra fee for a 2nd phone on the same plan? My DH and I both have a cell phone.... would like to share the minutes. It doesn't sound like a bad plan... I'm going to look into it. We have AT&T..:( No signal most of the time... and they have been going up on their rate... saying it's added taxes!! Sure!! :M We are looking into dumping AT&T .... If DH and I could share this new Walmart Straight Talk plan....we would definitely go for it!! Shirl & Rich

RE: RV "fireplaces"

We have one in our 2003 Prairie Schooner! As others have said, we love it. It's perfect for a rainy, cool day. It warms up the living room area and the ambiance is awesome!! It looks so real....and gives out a peaceful, calm feeling. I can't imagine owning a unit without one!! We use ours a lot just to warm the trailer when needed!! I am not sure who makes it.... I'll check it out. Shirl & Rich

RE: We no longer have an rv- UPDATE Page 9

I am so very sorry to hear of this terrible tragedy!! We had a very close call last Spring on our trip home from Florida. Due to an axle that broke, our tires came together..creating a huge smoke bomb. We really thought our trailer had caught fire!! We thank God every day that it didn't.... We will be praying for you.....and we Thank God that you are safe!! God Bless. Hugs, Shirl & Rich

RE: When the wife don't listen

I kinda think it was for real..... just looking at her reaction. I thought it was funny, but also thought what if she "accidentally" turned around with the gun in hand and fired a shot!! Not a pretty thought....for sure. Shirl & Rich

RE: my 16 yr old.

Prayers from the great state of Maine!! We like to think of it as God's Country. A special prayer for your precious daughter, Kelsie. What a beautiful name! Please tell her that this RV.NET site has members from all over this great country and Canada. We will remember her in our prayers each and every night that God will be there with her and all of the family. God Bless all of you!! Hugs, Shirl & Rich

RE: First Trip South

We have also stayed in the Silver Springs area. We liked it very much. We stayed at the Springs Resort which is a Wilder Park. It's a no frills type of park, but close to everything that Ocala has to offer. The Silver Springs Nature's Theme Park with the glass bottom boat rides is nearly acrossed the street. Season tickets are a must if you're in that area. We loved it!! We did check out some of the other parks that you mention. Ben's Hitching Post was probably our favorite....it is a small campground with nice sites. We did think of possibly going there only at that time, there was no internet service available because of the location. If you need internet service, be sure to check that out before booking a site. We are now in the Zephyrhills area... just above Tampa. There are hundreds of RV parks all around Zephyrhills and the surrounding area. We really enjoy this area...it is in Central Florida, but close to the West coast if you want to take an hour's ride over to the coastal waterway. It's about an hour south of Ocala... We have enjoyed this area for the past 4 years... will be going down again in late October. If you decide on Silver Springs, do come down to Zephyrhills, Dade City, Lakeland, Tampa, Wesley Chapel...etc. Come down and take a day to visit the area and check out some nice RV Parks that are "reasonably priced' Good Luck... RE: Warning "Gramma scam"

I work for WalMart and very recently encountered a lady who was going to wire a person in Miami, FL $3,800 for a car she intended to buy on E-bay. She showed me all of her papers that the "seller" had sent regarding the sale of his car. She said that he had told her that HE would put a "hold" on the money until she could fly to Miami from Maine to pick up the vehicle. I immediately persuaded her to NOT transfer the money!! Too many red flags went up!! #1. The seller cannot put a "HOLD" on the transfer of the funds.. These funds are usually available within 15 minutes of the transaction. #2. She had no actual bill of sale, title transfer etc.. Only an E-bay picture of the vehicle with a seller's phone number. After explaining to her how this money transfer works.... she believed that she could easily lose that $3,800.00 in less than 15 minutes!! I do these money transfer EVERY day.... The money that is transferred is made available in about 15 minutes. There is no un-ringing that bell. Upon completion of the transaction, the money is available... and you risk losing that money unless you are absolutely sure who you are sending it to!! Shirl & Rich

RE: florida

Check out parks in Zephyrhills. We stay at the Sterling Heights RV Resort... There is also White's RV park out on Chancey Road. These are the 2 least expensive in Zephyrhills. There are so many parks, but many have been bought by Carefree RV Resorts. They have raised their rates through the roof!! We love it at Sterling Heights RV Resort... a six month stay is $1750.00 plus you pay metered electric. Internet service is provided by Bright House Cable. Phone service is available... although we use our cell phones and Magic Jack. 1 mile to local Florida Hospital, 3 miles to Super Walmart. Sterling Heights RV Resort We love the Zephyrhills area which is about 20 miles N of Tampa. Hope this helps!! :) Shirl & Rich

RE: Oh boy, I really did it now......

Hello, I'm glad you can get the glass replaced.... Just make sure that whoever replaces it takes the time to recaulk and does a REALLY good job or you will have a really big leak!! We had our window replaced and they didn't caulk around the window. UGH!! They need to put in a good, tight seal around the entire window! Hope it all works out well!! :) Shirl & Rich

RE: Lyme Disease....getting bad!

Our beautiful Sheltie (Shelby) who passed away back in April had Lyme disease a couple of years ago. It was very serious at the time. We had to keep her on antibiotics for 28 days. We had noticed over the years that she still had some of the effects from the disease. Her legs were never the same... Our vet said that they don't get rid of Lyme disease 100%. We believe that her failing kidneys were the result of the Lyme disease. She had lost most of the use of her back legs also. We live in a game preserve in Maine... it's deer country for sure!!! Most of our neighbors have had pets or children with Lyme disease!! I also had Lyme disease about 4 years ago... I had the red bullseye, and had previously been VERY sick with flu like symptoms!! I had an upset stomach, fever, chills, hot flashes... etc. The most endearing part of this whole event was trying to convince my Dr. at the time that I had Lyme disease. He was totally negative to the idea. He claimed he had never heard of the "bullseye" associated with Lyme Disease. I told him he could find out all the information on the computer... He finally gave in, checked out Lyme disease on the computer and agreed to give me a blood test. I TESTED POSITIVE!! I took the antibiotics for 28 days... and made a good recovery. Lyme disease is nothing to mess with!! Please take precautions and make sure you check yourself out after being outside!! Oh, and if you hang out your clothes....check them too! I think that's how the little bugger got me!! :) Good thread.... Shirl & Rich
