RE: Where to stay in Fayetteville AR?

There is no problem with big rigs at Devil's Den SP. Just be sure to enter from the north.

RE: Hyde Memorial State Park, New Mexico

Sorry. Should have said any cgs at high elevation within 50- 100 miles of Hyde.
Summer will be around the corner in Louisiana and I would like a last taste of coolness.
Thanks

Hyde Memorial State Park, New Mexico

Plan on visiting this park for the first time around the first or second week of April.
Will be arriving on Sunday or Monday, departing the following Friday. That being said, with only 7 sites w/electricity , what are my chances of getting one w/o a reservation? We will be in a 37 ft MH. Also , can someone recommend any good hikes outside of the park? How about some backcountry roads to explore? We will have our 4x4 Dakota.
Any other campground suggestions? We prefer electricity but not necessary. No private parks please.
Thanks for any help.

Georgia/Alabama campgrounds?

Leaving Atlanta January 1 headed home to south La. Would like to find a public park, preferably COE park to spend a few nights. Would like to stay within 15 or so miles of the I-85,65 or I-20,59 corridor. Water and electric are preffered, 37 ft MH.
Thank you for any help.

RE: RANT!!!

OP here. Have been out of reach for 10 or so days. Spoke to insurance adjuster yesterday. They offered to pay all medical expenses and give her $500.00. This was 14 days ago, they have not heard back.
My premiums will go up for any claim over $750.00 which obviously this will be.
Curious to see if she wants more money.
I am not happy about any of this but I have let it go. We went to Arkansas in the MH for the LSU /ARK game then camping for 7 days with no cell service, it was a godsend. Thanks to all who responded. It was supportive and informative.
Funny thing is I park in front of her shop every week when I go to the grocery store and see her regularly though we had never met.
Will let you know when all is resolved.

RE: RANT!!!

Thank you fellow forum members, your feedback has helped immensely .
To answer a few questions in no particular order: I have the police report, am in the process of obtaining the paramedic report with her refusal of treatment. She did have insurance, but her vehicle registration and inspection were expired for what that is worth. I have pictures of her vehicle.
Of course I do not want my insurance premiums to go up, but that is not the source of my anger. I have never been able to tolerate people who do not tell the truth.
Found out today the cost of repair to her car is $650.00. I won't comment on that.
My insurance adjustor is out of Georgia and just wants to throw some money at her to make her go away. Again I was incensed at this. The adjustor seems to be more interested in getting this over with than caring about my interest , although she says otherwise. I will not go gently into the night. My DH says to let it go. But if had happened to him I think he would feel differently .
When I saiid the words"insurance fraud" to the adjustor, her demeanor changed. I don't know why, but she seemed to take me more seriously .
I speak to her again tomorrow morning. Will keep you posted.
Thanks again. I did sleep better last night. Venting helps.

Rant!!!

Please allow me this rant. I will try to keep this short. Last Friday I backed into someone in a grocery store parking lot. They were making a u turn from the wrong lane behind me to the parking space next to me. I accept that I should have checked more closely. My foot was not on the accelerator. I had no damage on my vehicle. They had one indentation, no scratches, no paint damage at all. I believe it should be equal liability, but I realize I was backing up and accept responsibility . O.K, the point is she is claiming physical injury. This is where I become livid. No way this person was injured in this fender bender. I am 62 years old and have not had an accident or ticket since I was 16. I called local city police and they made a report but being a private parking lot that was all. She did mention tingling in her arm and the officer called paramedics, they checked her out and she signed a release saying nothing was wrong. Now she tells my insurance she was injured.
I don't know what kind of response I want from you guys. I just feel this is wrong. It should be illegal to do this. The paramedic rolled his eyes at being called. If I am wrong I will be the first to admit it.
I am losing sleep over this. My first insurance claim in my adult life.
Thank you for listening.

RE: New (to us) cg in Colorado

You guys are great.
It is so nice of you to share. I know many would not and I kinda understand.
Being from La.and not retired, we have still spent quite a bit of time in Co., but these cgs are new to me and seem to fit my needs (wants).
I will check on closure dates, thanks for reminding me.
I can't wait to sit by a campfire in my fleecy sipping an adult beverage that won't turn hot in my hand. Of course I will check each location for campfire regs and burn bans( of the 4 or 5 places I have already checked, all allow campfires in fire rings).
I will be making a list of the cgs we don't make this year for future trips.
A sincere thank you to all.

New (to us) cg in Colorado

We are planning our annual "escape the heat" trip to CO. Departure after Labor Day, return around 1st week of Oct. We very rarely stay at private cgs. Prefer state, NSF ,etc.
We have stayed at and love Mueller, Ridgway and State Forest but want to try some place new. Really would like to have electric, access to water a must. High elevation a must also ( I don't want to sweat). We love to hike and have a 4x4 toad to go exploring.
Never go to town or eat out. We have a 37ft DP with above toad. Does that about cover it?
Only place on my radar right now is Steamboat Lake sp.
Thanks for all suggestions.

RE: Leaving firewood

We do drive through the cg looking for leftover firewood. Once while doing so at a NM state park we came upon a campsite that appeared empty. There was a small stack of wood with a note on it asking that no one please take their firewood. We doubled their stack of wood from our stock and left them a note telling them it was a gift from a Louisiana camper.
