RE: Free ice in the desert

I loved your ice setup. It's genius. I couldn't believe how quickly it cranked out the cubes. That's a nice looking group of folks in line there too. http://www.toyhauleradventures.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Xantrex-Buford-142.jpg width=800 I wanted to ride!! Thanks for the Ice BB and everything else!!

RE: How to quiet a generator

Mine died and I removed it, it is super quiet now!!! Mounting is your problem, it causes a buzz through out the trailer!! Good luck!!

RE: LED Replacement Bulbs

Well all of my horror stories went away when I with Rigid lights in most of my high use lamps! Now I have finished off the trailer with M4 products LED's and couldn't be happier! Rigid Industries M4 Products LED's Both have people here in the US to talk too and answer your questions. As for my failure, the bulb was glued together and it freaking melted!

RE: LED Replacement Bulbs

A lot of the direct from China stuff is junk, simply thrown together and unsafe. But some get lucky buying on Ebay from China, but I have heard many horror stories about melting bulbs and adhesive that falls off and melted the lens. I don't think it is worth the risk to my rv or family. This would be untrue, many here on the Forum have used the Asian LED SMD panels or bulbs with good success I am one of those fools that tried cheap LED's from China and almost burned down my trailer! Cheap is not worth my Family! Also consider when you buy direct from China you are not supporting American business at all. There is nobody to stand behind what you buy. They say they have a return policy but you can't ship things back to China for any reasonable cost. They are not paying tariffs on anything they are shipping because they ship everything fraudulently as "gifts". I've received several items by China Post and none have been labeled "Gift". How would you know if this was even generally true? It's how it's listed when dropped at the Post Office in China! Because of some strange agreement with USPS, it gets shipped in for next to nothing! Most of this stuff is made in China, but why not buy from businesses that inspect the goods and are liable for the goods? Companies that pay for liability insurance and have business license in the US. It may seem like you are getting a good deal on just one item here and there, but this adds up to billions of dollars instead of supporting businesses in the US.I'd rather buy everything Made in USA. It is an impossibility. Take a look inside your Ford or GM vehicles and see where the sub-assemblies come from, it isn't the USA. The same holds true for other consumer goods. It isn't the direct fault of the consumer that more goods are coming from off-shore but the decision of US corporations to build and import to meet a price point and continue to profit. Walk into a Northern Tool store and tell me what you find. . I think your example of Ford ad GM cars drives home Karbela's point! Ford and GM use parts made in China, but, they take liability for those parts and products. When you buy directly from China, there is no one directly liable for a failure, but YOU!

RE: LED bulbs vs LED panels

I have a mix of Rigid, M4's and some left over E-bay or (Somewhat)Superbright LED's. All the bulbs have the same base and only differ in wattage used/light output.. If you order the M4 or Rigid you get a couple different bases to use. I replaced only one bulb per housing, the single light, the second light I left stock. As for the floods, if they weren't such a pain to replace, I might try these. LED H3's.

RE: LED bulbs vs LED panels

Bako, I did the switch in my FS2300 and I use the plate style inside and the bulb style out side. The plates direct light better for inside use and the bulb style give off a more rounded light outside. I got some lights from M4led.com, Linky to what you need

RE: Replacement LEDs

I just put these in my rig. 17 lights total and I have 3 left over as spares. Hardly any heat and for $20 hopefully they will last and not burn my trailer down but if they die an early death then oh well. The light output is the equivalent of the bulbs they replaced just a bit more of a fuorescent white color instead of yellow. http://www.ebay.com/itm/130790070488?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 It's nice to see my voltage only drop from 12.3 to 12.2 with all lights on instead of going to 11.7! Please don't take this the wrong way, but those look more like bomb triggers than LED light assemblies. Sorry..

RE: Replacement LEDs

I like having someone here I can complain to if I have a problem. That's exactly what I keep thinking. For example, how many of us have personally talked to Corky (sp?) at Poles & Holders. That guy earned my loyal business years ago. His products are pretty much a commodity now, but there's still no one else I'd rather send my business to. Rather than dealing with an anonymous eBay seller, I'd prefer have a personal relationship with a vendor to our mutual benefit. That way I get decent products for a fair price and I know I'm supporting a good business. Having said that, I don't know anything about this company or his products, which is why I asked about them to begin with. I'm happy to use Derwud as a crash test dummy and if he has good luck with them, then I'll know where to buy my LEDs. :B Poles and Holders are good people!!! Hey, look at that kiddy track over there, Darryl, go check it out... Ouch, okay maybe we will ride somewhere else!!

RE: Replacement LEDs

I guess I don't understand spending 4 or 5 times as much money for bulbs when they are the same bulbs and probably same Chinese manufacturer just marked up and available in the US. I spent $39 for 10ea 36LED bulbs delivered to my door and spent a total of 20 minutes converting my existing light fixtures from incandescent to LED. When I look at the link above I see individual bulbs at $15-$16 ea and fixtures at $42 ea and they are no different than what I find on ebay for less than $4 per bulb. For that much difference in price its was more than worth the risk of doing business overseas and I am 100% satisfied with my purchase and received them in about 10 days postage paid. I even ordered 10 more as my trailer has 17 bulbs total on the interior. The bulbs and plates listed by the OP are much more reasonably priced and seem to be a much higher quality then the junk from E-bay.. I like having someone here I can complain to if I have a problem. I e-mailed M4 and he got back to me honest answer and not a sales pitch about his bulbs and listened to my feedback about LED's and what works and what doesn't.. So far I have been very pleased by their service and product...

RE: Replacement LEDs

All except the first are "Cool White" The first one is the discontinued Rigid light. I might have one or two of the old style for you Dave if you want the Warm color for the cabin and then get the "cool" for other spots.

RE: WW FS2300 Heater not working

Check that when you move the temperature dial up that you have contact in the metal prongs that get separated when you turn the thermostat to off. Had the same problem in my FS2300 and replaced it with a electronic thermostat, no more problems!!!
