Geico story - I had a young lady run a red light and she hit my Silverado in the passenger right front quarter panel. The damage at $1,500.00 wasn't much. It was Honda Accord vs. Silverado!
To Geico's credit, they called me a few hours later. That is where the cooperation stopped. They admitted that she was at fault. They wanted me to take my Silverado across town 25 miles to THEIR body shop. I have a very reputable body shop I have used in the past less than 5 miles away. I told them that's where it was going. After a "heated discussion" where they said no it wasn't going there, I hung up the phone and called my insurance company. My insurance company at the time was Mercury Insurance.
They said take it to where I wanted and they would fix it.
I picked it up a week later (no deductible paid - remember I wasn't at fault). A few months later they collected the damages from Geico and the cost of the rental car.
Since this happened (the term they used was subrogated with Geico) there was not a "ding" on my insurance record.
I will NEVER INSURE WITH GEICO!!!
They want you to go get the car inspected at their body shop and then offer you a low ball cash offer! You just take the check and the supplement sheet and go to a real body shop.

Funny I never thought much about it. But I actually liked the Front sleeper in my WW better than the walk around in our Gearbox. Im to big for the bed in our Gearbox so the wife and I sleep in the bunk in the back.
Walk arounds are 75 inch RV beds, E/W beds that are full legenth, 80 inches... @ 6' 2"ish, 75 inches ain't for me!! Besides I am camping not spending the rest of my life in there!!
Like Dave E, I need a zip line, but I love using it once in a while!!

My Pam says the same thing, "we're camping with who? No way!" Unless I can get Bob and Lila and maybe her sister to go, might be an AGNW (That's All Guys Nay Weekend).
My Pam has flipped 180 the other way since those early trips. Now she doesn't really even ask who the group is until we're pulling down the road. And then she asks, "But Darryl's going to be there, right?"
Just as long as she doesn't invite the Death Ride Captains.... And you know I get asked, "Are the Edmistons going?"

JV is fun spot, Spangler is really fun.
Here's what I know, it doesn't matter where you pick, you'll have a handful that will say its too far. I know with the price of fuel these days, people need to make choices. I'm fortunate that I don't let fuel or distance stop me from a trip, the only thing that will limit me is time.
I plan on hitting:
JV
Rasor
Dumont
Ocotillo Wells
Glamis
Spangler
and even Gorman at least once this season.
Distance is my issue, but I am down for where ever.. I will have to start my savings plan again!!

Ya that disaster has no sway drives like a dream is not overweight on any axle and has gone over 100,000 miles while "waiting to happen". I'll keep my set up, crazy as it is.
You list your camper as a 2007 yet you say that setup has gone over 100,000 miles. Sorry but I'm gonna have to call an extreme exaggeration on that one! Most people will never accumulate 100,000 miles on an RV in their lifetime let alone in 5 years. What exactly is it that you do professionally with you Rhino that forces you to haul it that many miles?
it's been 7 yrs, but that is a long story since I have had my '06 for almost 8 yrs now.. Welcome to WW...

I should look up some old Datsun 720 badges and install them on my truck!
