RE: What are u or would you use to tow this 26 Tbud trailer..

Why would you NOT get the HD package? Better to have more than less later on. Also consider resale, other buyers would want that HD.
I would bet in resale value it won't mean a thing. Most people probably wouldn't even knows what it is.

Reese hitch with Sway Control

I just bought a used 30 foot trailer and the seller included his Reese hitch (I don't know what model it is) and it has sway control with it. I was planning on using my old weight distribution hitch but decided to try this one since I would like to use the sway control. So my question is I have the bar hooked up on the little ball on the tongue and the hitch. It is firmly in place on the hitch but pretty wobbly on the tongue. I kept messing with the pin but nothing got better. I tried rotating the lever on the bar to see if that would do anything and it also didn't. Any help would be appreciated. We are leaving on our first trip with her tomorrow. Our tow vehicle is a 2008 Ford F-250. Thanks!

RE: Memorial Day weekend, where will you be?

Rockport State Park in Utah. I love travelling on holiday weekends. I don't care if the campground is full up, just as long as I have some space at my campsite. I love looking at others rigs.

RE: Got stuck.....

I have a 4wd truck living in Utah. I live in the valley on a flat lot. And I have to use the 4 wheel to get the trailer in my yard. Never thought I would have to. The pickup will back up without the trailer in 2 wheel. I guess for me its a testament to always have 4 wheel drive truck even if I live in a warmer climate. If you use it once, it has already paid for itself

RE: What do you use to stabilize when parked?

I put blocks of wood or levelling blocks underneath my jacks. The further extended they are, the less effective they are. So I usually put stuff under even if it isn't necessarily needed.

RE: %#$ salesman

I agree that the salesman should not have sold them the trailer, but it'll be useless demanding to get their money back. The trailer is now used, and no one would take it back. But, at the end of the day, the guy with the Tacoma should have done his homework and is now responsible for his set up. Probably an expensive lesson to learn.

RE: 2006 Sunset Creek 298BHS

We had the exact same problem. We had a friend spend several hours rewiring it since the previous owners wired it backwards. Then I discovered when plugged in, the clearance lights stay lit up. So he is coming back tomorrow and installing a toggle switch. It isn't a big deal to me to switch the switch when parked or ready to travel. Our trailer is a 1995 Dutchmen that we just bought and it sat for several years at their property.

RE: TT Values

Here in Utah" nothing goes for book. It seems after it reaches 15 years old, the Value is the same. We just purchased a 1995 Dutchman and the book is within a $100 of our 1992 Layton we are selling. And we paid about 2-3 times book value, and got decent deals compared to what people are listing.

RE: Membership card????????

Ya but it doesn't hold up very well...more like a piece of paper that I can't keep in my wallet. And it took probably two months to get mine in the mail.

RE: Towing hybrid with Odyssey 2009??

You can get a hybrid in the price range. When I was in high school, my parents towed a 2000 Trail Lite Bantam 23S with their 1999 Chevy Venture. It did fine, and yes we were overloaded, but we didn't kill anyone. They then bought an Expedition which towed it better but the van did a fine job.

RE: RV plumbing supply in the SLC area? ON THE ROAD!!

I go to State trailer for everything! And it seems like I am there every week. Glad they were able to take car of you. They also have a location in Ogden, UT and I believe Idaho Falls, ID.

RE: 2013 Ford Explorer battery drain

My parents had a separate 12 volt installed at the feet by the wires for the Brake Buddy and never had any problems after that. When using the plug in the console, it drained the battery quickly. Their Explorer is a 2004.

RE: 2012 F150 3.5L with EcoBoost w/fam of 5

Truck will do great. Your weights will be fine. I tow about 5000 pounds with the 5.4 and does great....wish I had the ecoboost. Some folks will tell you you need a bigger truck but they aren't the ones buying it for you. So go ahead and get your new trailer and start enjoying it with your awesome tow vehicle!
Note: my tongue weight is about about 600 pounds, little heavier if I carry fresh water.
