RE: Labor Day plans?
Going to a nearby state park and wait for the remnants of Isaac to dump 4-6 inches of rain on us. Hopefully, we can get in our 13 mile bike ride on the local trail. If not, we have books and each other.
RE: Our first long tow
After many towing miles behind me I would say do not rush. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Also, take some breaks from driving. You do have a nice place to take a break hooked up to your tow vehicle. Also, with higher fuel consumption be sure not to wait until the fuel level is real low. You may not find an RV friendly gas station at the next stop. I never let it get below 1/4 tank and others I have talked to won't even let it get that low.
RE: Running A/C on 20 amp line
Thanks Mr. Hepburn for posting that information. Should also point out that most 12 AWG extension cords are only rated for 15 amps as well because the plugs are only 15 AMPS. That being said, I run my AC at home off a 20 AMP circuit with my trailers cord and a dogbone with no apparent heating and little voltage drop.
