Just a new ploy to extract more money out of you.
There is a BMW dealer in town that charges $80.00 for nitrogen fill on new $100,000 cars. Hard up or what? I'm surprised they don't charge a parking fee when you look at their cars while shopping for a new one.

I thought welding on a frame was a no no. Possibility of weakening it.

Installed Reese/Drawtight Signature series myself. Rather do my own work than let some shops do it. At least I read the instructions completely and know it's done right.

I don't feel so bad now with my 2009 V10 Ford pulling 12,000 # 5th wheel.
8.5-9 mpg. Other postings the oil burners were claiming unrealistic high numbers.

One other thing to consider. If you have any sort of criminal record, including driving under the influence, you may not be admitted to Canada.
And vise versa An aquantance had a minor drug possession charge 35 years ago(50$ fine) and US customs refused him entry after a 3 hour "interview"
Wonder how all these celebrities tour the world. Lindsey Lohan you are going no where.
PS no firearms required or needed in Canada

Beware of tire shops
Picked up set of Michelin XPS tires off Kijiji which were barely used.
I decided to take the trailer to one of the largest truck/ industrial tire shops in the city to have them installed and balanced.
While in the service shop I specifically asked to have them balanced.
While waiting for the install I watched the guys make an attempt to do the install. Luckily I was watching as I had to run out to the service bay and stop them when they attempted to jack the 5th wheel from the center of the axle which would have definitely bent the axles. I had to show the guys that they needed to jack as close to the wheels as possible. Again after installing the tires on the rims I had to interupt the guys as they had no intention of balancing the wheels. They had a puzzled look when I told them to balance them, indicating they never balance trailer wheels. When they saw the required weights to balance the wheels I said imagine how much shaking one would notice had they been in the trailer when it would be towed.
I feel sorry for all the RVers that don't pay attention to what "these so called pros" can do to screw up their coaches.

Sure glad I have Reese/Drawtight signature hitch. It's failsafe jaw locking takes the guesswork away as long as safety pin is inserted.
But then again I still snagged the tailgate by forgetting to lower it after unhitching.

That tv looks like it's overloaded with the rear dragging and can you really tow it with the slide open?

Wow. Fee for trailer in Ontario no matter if 5000$ tent trailer or 120,000$ 5th wheel plate is 35$ one time fee for life.

we bought a 5er 2 weeks ago never owning one. we had no troubles. just listen to the service guys when they walk you thru the hitch set up and unload etc.
it pulls fine. that 'chucking' is weird. but people on the board explained it to me so I felt more at ease. first big 'chuck' freaked me out :)
other than knowing the steps to hitch and unhitch, there isn't any other secrets that we have learned. it is fast, easy vs. the TT we owned and no problems so far.
ENJOY that new 5er!!!
"chucking" ?? this is not normal. This should not happen if all is set up properly
