RE: Water pump burps every 35 to 40 seconds for 2 to 3 seconds

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- .2 GPM should not cause a problem. Is your suction flooded? Or do you have to draft? If suction is flooded you will have a leak between the tank and pump. If it is a draft you will usually have bubbles in the pump discharge water. This is usually more visable in the hot water side. Check a faucet with out a screen. Put a guage on a discharge line and see what is actully happening. A guage will let you know if you have a pump discharge valve is leaking as well as your pressure switch on/off setting. Differential pressure. Not sure I understand what you mean by "" Or do you have to draft? "" Do you mean a leak on the supply side between the pump and the tank?

RE: Water pump burps every 35 to 40 seconds for 2 to 3 seconds

That's what I was thinking, that maybe the pressure switch was fouled. It worked for the last 7 months. The pump is 3.2 gpm at 35 psi. The previous shurflow pump was 3gpm At 35 psi.

Water pump burps every 35 to 40 seconds for 2 to 3 seconds

6 weeks ago ,when I had the city water connected ,my fresh water tank filled . When I turned on the water pump, water came out of the gravity fill spout. So assuming the check valve at the city water connection had failed I replaced it. Didn't use the trailer since then and now when I filled the water tank, turn the pump on to pressurize the system every fawcett works fine but every 30-40 seconds the pump burps for 2-3 seconds. I have checked every connection I can find inside the trailer and all are dry.I have not taken down the plastic liner on the bottom of the trailer to look for exterior line leaks yet. Previously when hooked to city water and with the tank filled I could turn on the pump in order to increase waTer pressure if needed, although I seldom did. NOW the water pump will not come on when connected to city water if I turn the pump on and open a fawcett/shower. I installed the present flojet "4406-143"water pump 7 months ago.Pump is still on warranty . I am thinking that because the water pump burps so frequently and for such a short time that I have a faulty check valve in the pump. When I disconnect the outflow side of the pump and cap it with a plug the pump burps even more frequently and for a shorter time. Anyone have any comments/help?? What to try next? I took the pump to the dealer and when they capped the outflow it did not burp.I am going to cap the outflow again today to see if it burps when installed in my trailer. UPDATE.... JUST capped the outflow again while the pump was in the trailer and it burps continuosly for 1second every second! Does this mean the check valve in the pump is faulty and the pump needs to be replaced?/

RE: Left stranded night before Thanksgiving...

Thanks for the information, next year I won't miss Thanksgiving in May. Don't know how it slipped by me that they had moved it from November. Perhaps it would be worthwhile for the "Ask Marcus" forums to add another forum. We could call it "How far back in history can you bash Good Sam and Camping World" Sure would be interesting to hear how Good Sam's ERS screwed up the crank on someone's Model A. Based on the "tone" of most of your responses to any/all topics that you respond to, I don't think I would ever want to be a guest in your campground and need some assistance from you?

RE: Wind River by Outdoors RV TT

I spent some time with one of the factory Rep's at an RV show this past weekend. The tires are now 10 ply range D Goodyear Marathons. The roof and floor insulation is rated at R29 and the low point drains are above the enclosed underbelly to allow for colder climate use. They have made 120 changes to their trailers based on customer input in the last 2 years.New models will have Trailair suspension equalizers Plus shocks. There will be 2 new floor plan models next year to accomodate larger closet space. I was impressed with the blackstone and the windriver! I will definitely be looking at Outdoor RV next time I buy a new trailer.

RE: What kind of vacuum

Vacumn and quiet are two words that don't fit in the same sentence. After trying numerous vacumns over the years, we now have a 3 gal Ridgid pro from Home Depot. It will suck the staples out of the floor of your rv. I built a base with wheels to velcro the canister on. Works great!

RE: Driving to Europe

" Knud Rasmussen, Danish-Eskimo explorer and ethnologist who, in the course of completing the longest dog-sledge journey to that time, across the American Arctic, made a scientific study of virtually every Eskimo tribe in that vast region. Maybe they put their Harleys on a dog sled to come across the polar region! " Where is the AMERICAN ARCTIC ?

RE: Road conditions

Just drove that about 2 weeks ago pulling 35 foot trailer and it is fairly narrow and windy for the first 20 miles at least. The highway is in good condition though.

RE: Questions about dealer including a Fantastic Fan w/purchase

iF there is a light fixture within 12-18 inches of the location for the fantasic fan it is a simple matter to wire the fan from the light wiring. I just did a vortex fan in the ceiling vent that was within 15 inches of the light location. Took about a 1/2 hour to install the Vortex II fan. If the dealer won't go for the fantastic fan, check out the vortex II. If the Trailer you are looking at does not have an electric hitch jack maybe you can get him to throw that in the deal?

RE: Warning Regarding Extended Service Plan

It seems to me that I have read more of this type of posting in the last little while. I guess we have to realize that when we buy insurance of any type, it is our job to pay the premiums/cost of the insurance coverage And it is the job of the insurance company to look for every possible way NOT TO PAY A CLAIM for whatever reason possible. Afterall they work for the shareholder's of the company underwriting the insurance! I get more sceptical of insurance companies every year.

RE: Surcharge on MC/Visa

Any of the retailers that choose to add a surcharge to my bill will have the merchandise left at their check out counter. All retailers have already taken into account ALL of their selling costs when pricing their merchandise. A surcharge will be their method of double dipping at the consumers expense. It is my choice how I spend my money and that is how I will deal with this issue.

RE: increasing water pressure at the shower head

We have had one of the oxygenics shower heads for 8 years. Much improved pressure than the standard heads used by most rv manufacturers, even in campgrounds with very low water pressure.

RE: How important is No Dogs vs. Dogs Allowed in Campground?

We take our dog with us to camp .So If dogs are not allowed we would not consider a campground. We check every campgrounds web site to see what their facility offers for a dog walk. EVEN IF we didn't have a dog we would go to a dog friendly campsite because We love every bodies dogs.

RE: Per the Denver Post: "Solar Panels Don't Work"

The future of Solar power will be ensured when technology reduces the cost of the solar panels and doubles efficiency of the pv panels. there are a number of solar tech companies that are moving ever closer to accomplishing those 2 objectives. One of those companies is Natcore in New jersey. Their r&d in "absolute black" in conjunction with the NREL is so very close to meeting the first objective of reducing the cost of producing a more efficient pv panel. They are also making serious progress in developing a working tandem pv panel that will near double the efficiency of pv panels to 32/%. Visit their web page and see what they are doing. I think they have the best chance of accomplishing those 2 objectives in the the shortest time frame. When they do, solar will be cost competive with fossil fuels.
