RE: REAR view camera

We found a good one, but it cost us. Check out e-bay seller "interceptinc". We bought a wired system with a color 7" display, a color license plate cam for the truck and a day/night color cam for the trailer. He even has a kit for you to install that connects the the trailer cam to the truck using a removable umbilical cord. He is very knowledgable and has sold many units to RVers. interceptinc on e-bay appears to have gone out of business, I have two cameras and a monitor from him they work very well and he was helpful, but I think the economy finally got him, very sad. Another very positive vote for Steve Gudin on eBay, used to go by name of "interceptinc". I contacted him and got back this reply: "My user name on there has been changed to 'leviathan_holdings'. You can find everything I have available here: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZleviathan_holdingsQQhtZ-1 " - so his new eBay store link is here - Camera eBay. I also HIGHLY recommended him - his equipment is top-notch and he stands behind the warranty. His wired Trailer/Tow Vehicle set-up is great- well worth the time to hard-wire in a system. I don't regret one minute going with wired system versus a wireless.

RE: anybody like the grill that attaches to their trailer?

Our TT had the low-pressure grill connect on it and I didn't like the original grill. Purchased a low-pressure CAMCO grill and love it! Perfect size for a family of 4.

RE: Travel Trailer Covers

Covered ours past 3 years with an ADCO custom cover and been very happy. ADCO has great customer service if you want mods made to cover.

RE: Motorhome Extended Warranty

I've been researching this issue as well, and uncovered that while several folks have recommended RVProtection.Net, the BBB has revoked their accreditation and provided them a grade of "F". QUOTE: On January 13, 2009 this company's accreditation in BBB was revoked by BBB's Board of Directors due to failure to eliminate the underlying cause of complaints on file with the BBB and engaging in activities reflecting poorly on the BBB or its members. RE: problems with Camping World

Overall I've had good experiences with CW, been a PC member for 8 years or so. Generally have good service; interesting one of first posters mentioned Council Bluffs Iowa store - I had some work done there. While it took longer than desired (partially because it required talking with TT mfg over several days on diagnosing problem), the service manager treated me very fairly; also because of the extended time it took to ultimately fix the problem, gave me a significant discount on labor charges.

2004 Expy with McKesh mirrors - love em! Good looking: no; do the job: YES!

RE: Need advice on surge protectors

Another firm believer in the Progressive Industries EMS - while it hasn't been a surge situation, it has saved our appliances a couple of times due to low power; and I say that knowing that folks on both sides of me lost appliances and/or their ACs.

I-64 or I-68 west from VA - which is better with MH?

Will be traveling in early November from Shenandoah VA west, eventually headed to Indy - wondering which is better route to take from VA west - across I-64, or take I-68 across? The distance is very similar for me to head north from Shenandoah and take I-68, or head south and take I-64. Good Sam trip routing shows more Mountain Advisories on I-68 versus I-64. Any recommendations? I'll be driving 35' MH. Appreciate any practical advice on which route is better with MH. Thanks!

RE: tpo roof material???????

I'd see what mfr has to say - just like rolnhome says, my TT says to use only Murphy's Oil Soap.

RE: Cool Mods

I also noticed there was a larger gap than I like to see between the tub and the wall liner so I caulked it with silicone to keep mold or rot from starting, I strongly recommend everyone do this as it's cheap and easy to prevent a very expensive problem. Interesting - my 2008 TT has this same gap and mfr specifically states NOT to seal this - is designed to allow water to drain down into tub after using shower and prevent the mod/rot that you describe.

RE: Tow Mirrors 2004 Ford Expedition

I also have an 2004 Ford Expy - I looked for months (literally), searched many Ford forums, on here - nothing decent (that looks 'factory') exists for the Ford Expeditions. Finally settled on the McKesh mirrors - yeah, they may not look pretty but they do a great job! Easy to take on and put off. I've used them for 3 years and and very happy with them. I found mine on eBay, still in great shape, for only $65. Hensley is also a great company to work with if you have problems. After the second year I had one tiny section where the Teflon tape was coming off - one phone call and they sent me some at no charge! We average 50 nights of camping a year, so that is anywhere from 20-25 trips a year - and I have seen no damage to my Expy from the mirrors.

RE: Questions about how to use the fresh water tank and pump

Another thing to consider - if your TT has a factory-installed fill hose to use the water pump for winterizing, it may have a bypass valve installed. Make sure it is set to pull from the fresh-water tank, and not the "winterizing" hose. I didn't realize my TT had this (and it isn't in the owner's manual either) but discovered it the first year we had it and I went to winterize; great set-up from the factory to use the built-in pump to winterize - but this means the bypass on the water pump has to be set-up to use only the fresh-water tank if desired.

RE: Tangled Shore Chord

I'll add another positive vote for the Park Power Conversion Kit. Extremely easy upgrade, and now it's a lot easier to coil the power cord and store wherever I want to.

RE: CG between Omaha and Sioux Falls

This might work for you in Nebraska City Link. We stayed here on our way up to SD. Clean rest rooms, grounds very clean, little shade. Greyt one nighter. Rv Parks Review Agree this isn't a bad overnight stop, but I assumed OP was coming across on I-80 to I-680 to I-29. If so, this CG is 65 miles south of where I-680 & I-29 meet. But still not a bad overnight stop if OP doesn't mind going that far south.

RE: CG between Omaha and Sioux Falls

There are quite a few campgrounds in the Omaha area, depends on what you are looking for: private or public CG, amenities, etc. RV Park Reviews - Omaha is a good starting point. We've been up and down I-29 several times camping and IMHO there aren't many good choices once you get north of Omaha; there are a few campgrounds near Onawa, but quite frankly we weren't very impressed with the ones in Onawa (stayed at 3 of them - only nice one is the Lewis & Clark State Park). We are staying at the KOA in North Sioux City, SD this weekend - rated pretty good but haven't actually been there yet RV Park Reviews - North Sioux City. And there seem to be quite a few choices around Sioux Falls, but can't speak to any of them RV Park Reviews - Sioux Falls SD

RE: Door lock question

Same here - one key works both locks. I had another exterior storage door with same type lock but different key. Had the lock mfr rekey that lock to match, so now I have one key to fit everything.

RE: What do you do to clean/maintain/store your roof?

I've got a TPO roof and mfr recommended a small amount of Murphy's oil soap mixed in warm water to clean it.

RE: Getting around in DC, can you use your toad?

Personally, having been stationed there 3 times and lived in the area for 8 of the last 14 years, I'd go find the nearest Metro station, park there and use the Metro system to get around DC - one of the best public transportations around!
