RE: Sandrail and quad in a toy hauler

What about a bumper hauler like you would use on your truck but instead put it on the back of your fifth wheel?

RE: UTV's and helmets

I have a Samurai and RZR XP 4 900 to serve both purposes and take which ever one will be good for where I'm going. We thought the Samurai would be the only thing we needed until we discovered it wasn't fun in the sand. The law does suck when you just want to cruise around slow and check things out.

RE: Truck Tires for SoCal

I liked eveything about the Nittos except the life, only got about 15,000 miles on them.

RE: 2008 XLR Crack in bedroom

Had the same exact thing with ours. I called Forest River direct. Can't remember the guy I dealt with but I had to send him some pictures. He determined it needed to be fixed at the factory in California. They payed to ship it there and back, removed what needed to be removed to inspect the side framing, determined it was ok then added expansion joints where the crack was and recaulked the entire roof as well.

RE: garage ramp door

It could be the hinges are dry or corroded. I had to rebuild mine as the hinge pin had major corrosion. I had to cut the pin in several places and hammer the hinge plates off which ruined the plastic bushings. When I rebuit it I used bronze bushings and grease zerts on each hinge plate for lube.

RE: #1 rule, hands in RZR at all times. WARNING GRAPHIC PHOTOS

I did this when I was 15 in my Oddysey. Compound fracture, metal plate, skin graph because I scraped about 2" by 2" skin off my inside wrist from the rocks. I just bought a RZR and will be putting wrist restraints or nets on very soon. It sucks seeing others go through this kind of pain.

RE: Tires

I had the Nittos but a different size. They had terrible tread wear, I only got 20,000 miles out of them.

RE: Items ordered and not used in your toy hauler

We use our pull down screen all the time. I wish I had an outdoor TV.

RE: Keyston Fuzion garbage

It never hurts to try for a fix from the manufacturer. My XLR was out of the warranty period when a crack developed under the bed slide gelcoat. Forest River had it picked up and sent to the factory, checked the structure, fixed the issue and some other things I didn't ask for then sent it back free of charge.

RE: Best Tires for toyhauler

Tires is one thing you don't want to cheap out on.... you get what you paid for. My buddy tried the "Discount has a great warranty, I don't have to pay for anything when I get a new tire". 4 trips to the dunes, 4 blow outs, fixing wiring, removing black marks from trailer, adding 1 hour to trip....... he got tired of that and bought the XPS Ribs..... Well if I have a problem then you can say I told you so.

RE: Best Tires for toyhauler

I went with Cooper ATRs. I know the X Ribs are supposed to be awsome but these were only $135 a tire. 50,000 mile warranty and paid extra for the Discount tire warranty so they are virtually garanteed until they wear out. Just got back from a 1,400 mile trip and they are great. Wish I would have got LT tires a long time ago.

RE: No center axle brakes!

I had the same thing with mine. When I first got it we took our annual Memorial day trip to the mountains, on the way back there is a pretty steep decent and I was having trouble holding it back even though this unit is lighter than my previous one. I discovered the wires when I got home.

RE: Upgrade Mattress

I have a Costco 12" thick memory foam mattrees at home which is the best I ever had. We did'nt want one this thick in our Fifth wheel so I just got an 8" Spa Sensations memory foam mattress from Walmart.com. It is 99% as good as the Costco one and is only $219.

RE: "The black box"

My brother's Sandstorm has a switch from the factory to turn on the running lights. Seems like you could just find where the 7 pin wiring harness splices into the trailer then run some jumpers to a switch and not have to carry a box around.

RE: which options on your th are u glad to have or wish you had

I would get upgraded suspension like Dexter E-Z Flex and heavy shackles and bolts.

RE: My New Toy Hauler!!! 34' Eclipse Attitude

Nice Rig. I drive by there everyday and have seen it sitting there. Yes this place is definately shady but the problem is where else are you going to go to find a good selection? By the way we looked there several times and the owner is definately the #1 piece of ####!

RE: Loading lights/ Back up lights

My brother's Sandstorm rear loading lights come on when he is reversing. It is pretty cool. Some day I'll get mine hooked up.
