RE: Power Tongue Jack

yes its the Battery the dates i found say 05 so it looks like they should have been changed when i bought it from the Dealer. Well i got the dealer to put on new triers a little late to get them to give me new battery's. Thanks for your help as always you guys are great. I never wanted this old of a TT but it looked better then some of the 08 and 9's as i don't think the owner used it much. and the price was right as i am sure they wanted this thing off the lot.

RE: Power Tongue Jack

It might be time to replace them the TT is a 03 and I don't think the dealer replaced them when I bought the RV last year. after camping I unplug and go home. so I will have to check and see how long it takes for the batteries to die, after my next camp trip. Thanks for your help

Power Tongue Jack

I am looking to add a power tongue jack, But wondering about my batteries. I disconnect the battery's when I return from camping so there always dead when I hook up. Do I need to keep the TT plugged into my house to keep the battery charged. or is there another way to do this. My Batteries do charge off the TV when towing, but as I never camp more then 50 miles from home they never really fully charge. When I get to a camp site late, the lights inside are dim but do work, not really a big deal as I just plug into shore power. Having a power Tongue jack might make this a problem. (True of False)

RE: Buyers remorse?

The dealers are a blast with all their lies I was able to catch them once they told me that they would fix any thing that was worst then 50% so i asked the service teck how the breaks were he said they must be 50% or better because they did not replace it was written in the contract so while playing around on this site i learned about tire dates the RV is a 03 and it was 2012 at the time the tires dates said 02 and i do rember the sales man telling me how new the tires looked needless to say a week latter the Manager and i had it out in his office as i raised safety for my family and i was going to leave the TT i won they did replace all the tires at just for tires as i saw the bill saved me :-$ 750 plus my life. So i am thinking you should go back and fight it out worth a try anyway you never know.

RE: Lessons we've learned over the years

Before I got my TT we had a pup right about 2500bl with a wheel on the jack so it could be rolled around real easy on a flat surface, don't try doing this on any incline before choking the wheel. O I made the wife mad that day as I was yelling at the wife to choke the wheels as I am holding the pup from running me over bad day that day cracked the big storage box on the front of the pup from pushing so hard.

RE: Lessons we've learned over the years

Never had a problem backing into a camp ground I got pretty good really quick. My DW does help but not to big of a deal one day I decided to pull the TT out for new tires it was great the dealer was buying as they were old and should of been changed before I pick it up. (THEY FOR GOT I WAS TOLD) So I bring the TT back home during a work day. and start backing into my RV gate should have waited for the DW new tires but a nice 14in scratch on the side of my fiberglass TT As the RV Gate came out of no where LOL and its on the door side so when I am camping I always have to see it. I use my DW all the time now when backing 31 feet of TT. Better safe then sorry.

RE: Cant believe what I saw...overweight camper

Don't know if it was the dealer or not but luckily I was a member here did a little homework before buying still did not know what I was doing. The dealer told me my truck could pull 8900LB (I WOULD NEVER DO THAT WITH A 1500) They never told me about water and Cargo people. The TT they sold me came in at 6400lb some would say that's ok but with cargo and a 31ft TT its a lot for a 1500 they were even showing me TT that were heaver. The dealer does not care if your TV CAN MOVE IT AND YOU WANT IT THEY WILL SALE IT TO YOU. Now that I know a lot more thanks to all of you over the years I would be looking at something right around 5000lb if I was buying today

RE: Needing a stronger tow vehicle?

Trust everyone here dont buy a 150 or 1500 i am living what the dealer did to me and i hate it, we take nothing but food and a little wood no dog bikes or extra people as my 1500 dodge is at the max you have a chance to do it right so listen to what we are telling you i had a pup so i only read pup stuff should have been on the TT side of this site before i bought the TT good luck and have fun if you look hard you can get a 2500 for about the same as a 1500

RE: need your opinions: rv or hotel?

Hello i work in the hotel field so having someone clean up after me and bring me food when i want is what a hotel is all about its quite relaxing and i pay about the same to stay in a hotel or take my RV i camp about 6 weekends a year and stay in hotels about the same amount dont get to worried about the bed bug its the new fad right now to get a free or discounted room people have used all kind of stories i have heard my child has just pick up a used comdom off the floor about 10 times over the years now its bed bugs where were the bed bugs 10 or 15 years ago hotels have been around forever. I will say this since you have a dog and you have the time i would choose to RV it as most hotels dont like pets. Bottom line hotels are a blast to me and camping is a blast so go out and enjoy life while you can

RE: Backing Newbie

No need to remove your bars i do remove the sway bar as backing in tight spots are not good for the sway unit before backing. We camp about 6 times a year on the weekend only as i still have about 15 more years of work before i can retire. So i never get good at backing i use my wife when backing after 1-2 or 3 tries we are in then we camp just go out enjoy and have fun take a deep breath and dont worry about the other campers watching you they were once new backers aswell
