RE: 2013 Ford 3/4 ton vs ton GAS

I would go with the 1 ton if it were my money.

RE: Black Forest Fire in CO

Accidents do happen, such as a construction worker sparking one off if that is the case. Not that it makes it any easier for the people affected by the fire but I would really hate to found out that it was some piece of trash arsonist that intentionally caused this devastation.

RE: 2015 GM Heavy Duty - spy shots

The local Chevy dealer just announced the 2014 Silverado 1500 is in stock. Too bad it's $51,000. They have lost there mind.

RE: 2015 GM Heavy Duty - spy shots

Chev built their last good looking truck in 07!!! Flame suit ON!!!! :B Agreed. I agree, Dodge has always had the best looking trucks, Chevy went to pot after 07' and as for Ford....well I am still waiting for them to make a good looking truck....:B. Just having some fun, seriously though I honestly really like the looks of the 08' through 13' generation of Chevy's and GMC's. As far as the 14's go...I don't know, it might take some time to grow on me. I won't say that I don't like it simply because when Dodge restyled the Rams in 94' (I believe that's when anyway) I absolutely couldn't stand the looks of them, they quickly grew on me and to this day I think that redesign up to the current generation of Rams are the sharpest trucks ever produced.

RE: DRW isn't always the only answer....

You have to love the pure excitement of dumb and dumberer at the anticipation of someone elses misfortune.

RE: Big Block to EcoBoost

It seems to be an amazing engine. This engine and the Mustang are about the only decent products put out by ford.....:E:B

RE: "Storm Chaser" Tim Samaras dies

Rest in peace to those men and God be with there families. I have been near and I guess you could say chased tornadoes, no where near the capacity of professional or even amateur storm chasers, but it was still an amazing adrenaline rush. I can certainly understand the allure of such a career path or hobby.

RE: 17 Best Western Movies: Art of Maniliness

I cant name a favorite, there are just to many but I will throw Open Range in the pot, as well as the Last Outlaw with Micky Rourke and Dermot Mulroney.

RE: FAO Tornado-Fearing, Black-and-white thinkers.

I think with an F5 tornado the destruction in its path is complete, without a reinforced shelter I think I would try and make a run for it, of course when they are a mile or more wide at the base and throwing shrapnel you would need alot of advanced notice to make a run for it. All I know for sure is that my heart goes out to those that are effected by natural disasters like this.

RE: Armor All good_bad?

The first and last time I used it was in the early 90's, it cracked my dash board and the sidewalls of my tires. That was a long time ago so maybe it is a better product now. I'll never find out, it isn't worth it to me.

RE: Driving non stop

Are you sure you aren't my father reincarnated. He would be 110 next month. If we didn't drive at least 500-600 miles per day he thought it was a lost day. We went from Banff to Lake Louise one day and he couldn't believe we only made 40 miles that day. I do remember the limited vacations since I was self-employed and alone in the office. I would just recommend a day of very little when you get to your destination to rest up and enjoy the rest. You can always rest up on the boss's money when you get back. (unless you are also self employed). Lol...I was thinking the same thing. My dad and beleive it or not, my wife are peas in a pod when it comes to traveling, limited breaks, go-go-go while I am a stop at every point of interest, Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop on the way. They hate me.....:B

RE: Which rear gear for 2012 2500 Hemi Ram?

You def won't need 4'10 for that light of a TT. Even at 9000lbs the 6.7 is barely working. OP is talking about the Hemi, however I do agree with you on the 6.7...:)

You might need to consider a 1 ton dually with a diesel and 4.10's.....:B

RE: Didn't your mama ever tell you to remove your hat ? RANT

I always remove mine but couldn't care less if other's don't, the only thing that bothers me are the people that can't control there kids and the people that think there lives are so important that every one needs to hear there conversation. Heck as long as there respectful of other's around them (a rare occurrence these days) I don't even care if they eat with there elbows on the table...:W

RE: Ford or GM?

GMC...only because IMO they are the best looking HD's out there. There all so nice and well built these day's that I don't think one is more reliable than the other it just comes down to the interior and looks for me.

RE: Need new tow vehicle

In lieu of the 2500 Suburban, I would look at a 3/4 or 1 ton CHEVY/GMC van with a Quigley 4x4 conversion.

RE: Stopped by the Ram dealer

The Longhorn certainly is plush. I had a 2012, Laramie 2500 and now a Chevy 1500 LTZ. These trucks are so nice I worry about getting a speck of dirt on the interior. With that said, my next HD will be as bare bones as I can possibly get away with. I like cloth seats better than leather and I don't really use any of the feature's in the higher end models anyway. Now if only the manufacturer's would come back with a manual transmision on there gasser's I would be a happy camper.....:M

RE: Got stuck.....

Lol....yeh it happens. I am sure this thread will turn in to another 2 wheel drive vs. 4 wheel drive thread but 4 wheel drive is certainly nice when you need it. I boondock and need it often.
