Yep i got the same email saying i would get a $10.00 gift certificate. I'm still waiting 2 months later. Truthfully don't care at this point. I was so fed up with there B.S. i probably wouldn't use it any way.

RE: It's Izzys time of year...

Now that picture is priceless. I'm sure glad she's not spoiled, i was concerned for a minute. :B When we take 2 of our Boston's camping with us they absolutely refuse to eat dog food, they think they have to have what were eating. Now that is the pleasure of being owned by a Boston Terrier.:W

RE: Norcold fridge/freezer. will it keep food frozen?

We have a dometic and it keeps things froze solid in the freezer. We were told it wouldn't keep ice cream but it does almost too good a job.

RE: Grills that hang on the side wall of the trailer

I've been using ours for 5 years and never a problem of any kind. We use it under the awning as well. Never have a problem with heat or grease either. Keep in mind at least on ours the actual grill sets out from the side of the camper about 8 inches which gives you plenty of room.

RE: Please put our Chubby on your prayer list. UPDATE

We got Chubby home and all the blood work was re-run by our vet as well as liver and Thyroid workup and everything is normal. However he has a fatty tumor on his side that we have known about for about 6 months, this was aspirated 6 months ago and was okay. The vet said as long as its not bothering him or anything we would leave it alone. Well as a safety measure yesterday he rechecked that and the fluid within is changing rapidly so were having to watch that closer. He talked about removing it but said with this seizure he doesn't want to do surgery as long as its benign which it still is at this point. As he put it he is marginaly concerned but more concerned about the seizure and not wanting to do surgery since the seizure. Were not out of the woods yet but at least a little relieved they didn't find anything wrong with the blood. I have to tell you it made a grown man cry watching it all unfold Tuesday night, personally never witnessing that kind of thing before in my 58 years of life. As my vet told us last night its actually harder on us seeing it happen as it is on the actual dog. For some reason that didn't help us, :? Our vet is also a good friend so that helps things somewhat.

RE: "Corps of Engineers" Camgrounds? What's that?

Personally i have never stayed at a bad corp of engineers campground. That doesn't mean there isn't one but everyone i have stayed at is very nice and clean. I highly recommend them!

RE: Please put our Chubby on your prayer list. UPDATE

I would want to rule out any environmental factors. Anyone using lawn chemicals, paint overspray, poison, tainted water, etc.? Any dietary changes? Genetic predisposition may be the cause. Seizures, (especially Grand Mal) are terrifying to witness. Hopefully, it will be a one-time occurrence and medication will control it. I actually never thought about that however wouldn't the blood tests that were run show any kind of poison or such?

Please put our Chubby on your prayer list. UPDATE

Our 9 y/o Boston terrier suffered a Gran Maul seizure last night. We rushed him to the emergency vet clinic which thank god is only a mile from our home. They kept him all night and i picked him up this morning and took him to our regular vet for additional tests and monitoring for the day. So far all the blood work from last night showed nothing but more testing is being done today. It scared the living daylights out of both the wife and i. We are very thankful we were there last night to get him to the vet. The seizure was a short lived one and he didn't have any further ones during the night and when i picked him up he was his old self. Were hoping and praying for the best to see what our regular vet finds. He did say that Seizures aren't that uncommon in older dogs.

RE: 1/2 ton towable 5th wheel

That is exactly what i was thinking, my payload capacity is 1590 before i get in the truck let alone wife or anything else. Actually what made me think of it was this weekend we was at a state park just north of Kansas City and i saw a guy pull in with a 5er and a half ton truck. The way the sites were designed i was parked on the west side of the road and everything on that side was a straight level shot back into your site. On the east side you had to back down a pretty good slope before you could level your trailer up. This guy was pulling a 5er, granted a smaller one at that and of course he backed down just fine. On Sunday when he went to pull out and of course up the incline that engine was screaming bloody murder to get up and out of there. My wife got the idea that we could get a smaller 5er and i was pretty sure it was not something we wanted to do. We are thinking of getting into something a little bigger within a year or so but it will be something like a 27ft pull behind. Were pulling a 23ft hybrid presently.

1/2 ton towable 5th wheel

I think i already know the answer to this but will ask anyway. Is there any new 5th wheel's out there that won't overload a half ton truck. I have a 2012 Silverado 1500 2wd ext. cab with the 5.3 with 342 rear end with the factory trailer tow package. My fear would be the pin weight would kill you first. I simply have no desire to upgrade to a 3/4 ton truck and will just go with a conventional tow behind if i get something else. I truthfully am very ignorant about 5th wheel's and there weights.

RE: I can not get my fresh water pumping again

I had pretty much the same problem this spring happen to me. Thanks to the help of this forum, i got it handled very quickly. It seems last winter when i winterized i forgot to shut the valve off at fresh water tank where i bypass the fresh water tank and suck in the antifreeze straight out of the jug. It was a simple fix thanks to some guys on here. Don't know if thats your problem but it fixed mine rather quickly. :S

A patient of mine gave me a hat for Izzy for the beach in Ecuador....Izzy doesn't seem to mind it at all :) http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i362/nabelia/IMG_2546_zpsd880c7f0.jpg From the look in her eyes you may be on Izzy's bad list temporarily. ;)

RE: Stolen Trailer This Morning

The really sad part is they did not shoot them. Pogoil. X2. I had a popup stolen 7 years ago, they caught the guy then turned him loose on probation and he skipped on Probation, imagine that. He got caught in Florida doing the same thing and they put him in prison 4 years ago and he's still there.

RE: Excessive Vet costs?

Gosh after hearing all this, i feel very fortunate. One of our boys, a 20lb boston got attacked by a possum in our back yard a couple of months back. It took 17 staples, antibiotics and cleaning it up with a local. Keep in mind this was after hours and the bill was only $255. I thought that was excellent espcecially after hours.

RE: dewinterize question

We are headed to Lake Jacomo in Lee's Summit but aren't leaving until Saturday. Hopefully this snow will be done and we will have no accumulations! We have been there once and it was very nice. We are going to Clinton State Park next weekend. Have a great time!
