RE: Baby it's cold outside!!

I would not use your slide if you do not have too. The cold will make the slide very hard to move and the weatherstrping very brittle and you could damage something. If you do not have to operate it do not. Just MHO and its worth what you are paying for it. Eddy

RE: movie---A Dog Names Christmas

It was a great movie and filmed in our home town. Our Mutt Wolfy was the white one that licked his hand from the cage and was seen on the TV being walked out of the shelter adopted. Eddy

RE: Will my slide work with the batteries out?

I would be worried about leaving the unit plugged in for very long without the battery's in it. I am thinking that the converter might go into a heavy charge mode to bring the battery's that are not there up to charge and burn something out. Please note I am not an expert I just think there COULD be a concern. Eddy

RE: How about adding a light to outside wall

One of the best lights you can put on is a Solar light you can get them many places for under $50 They come complete with charging panel and battery and light and they do not need very much wireing and you do not have to drill any holes in your unit. Some are switched and some are turned on by motion. Eddy

RE: Not so green cars/trucks/SUV's

You need to compare the Dust to Dust impact of a specific vehicle in order to know what its impact on the earth is. A beast like the Hummer H1 that is easy to build with basic materials and is easy to recycle and can burn Bio Diesel and has a usable lifespan of 20 yrs has much less environmental impact on the world than a Toyota Priuis Hybrid when you take into account that even though it gets 3 times the mileage it burns gas and has a battery pack with a 7 yr lifespan that only lasts 5 in northern climates and that has a very bad impact on the earth when disposed of. The Toyota also uses many rare earth and heavy metals in its construction and is a nightmare to recycle. Its like a guy who rides a bicycle on a busy roadway blocking traffic who says he does it to save the earth although because he was riding where he was an how he was caused 300 cars to slow down and then accelerate to get around him causing much much more harm. You can say anything and prove it if you use very narrow parameters to prove your point. Lies more Lies and then Dam statistics. Just my rant. Eddy

RE: Small Patches for Sealing Tiny Roof Hole Maintenance

If you have any Eternabond tape you could just cut a small peace of it and use that. Eddy

RE: Onan 4000 Oil type?

That is a gas engine so any good oil will work but I recommend you use a synthetic as it is a better oil and will give you better performance in both hot and cold use. Eddy

RE: Small Solar Panel

If its in the sun all day the then it will put more charge in during the day that the small LED light will draw out at night. Make sure snow does not cover the windshild and block the sun from getting to the panel or it will not work. Eddy

I 80 from PA to Chicago

Anyone done I 80 from NYC to Chicago in the last while. I did this road about 4 yrs ago and almost lost the whole undercarrage of the truck I was driving. It was really a bad road. I think I saw 5 cars on the side of the road with broken suspensions. Has it improved any? Thanks Eddy

RE: Any Pilots (airplane owners) on the boards?

Used to take an old 172 on floats up to the northern lakes and enjoy a few nice weekends. You have to rough it due to the load limits but if you can away from others you can have a real good time. Eddy

RE: Attractions enroute New York to Chicago

I will be watching this too as I am going the other way in 2 weeks. I am going from Sask Canada to Quebec City and Niagra Falls and will do that route both ways. I am also looking for some nice things for my wife and I to see and do. Eddy

RE: Best route Edmonton to Penticton

Quickest route is not the best. Quick is Edmonton to Calgary then #1 to Sicamous then south to #97 through the Okanagan to Penticton. The best route is Edmonton to Jasper then down to Banff and then west on #1 to Sicamus then south to 97. You have to do the road from Jasper to Banff if you can. It is one of the nicest trips in the world. Eddy

RE: StaBil or Seafoam as fuel stabilizer?

Both are great but the Seafoam does more for you once you run the beast so I would go for it. Eddy

RE: Quickest way to winterize

That was all great advice but I look forward to doing it a better way soon. I will just drive the Motor Home to TX. Hope to be able to do that next yr. Eddy

RE: Dinghy towing a 1972 Jeep Commando

If you put the transfer case in neutral and the gearshift in neutral and leave the hubs unlocked you can tow it. Eddy

RE: Edmonton, AB south thru Canadian Rockies -roads to avoid?

If you are that close you cannot miss the trip from Jasper to Banff. I repeat do not miss this road if you can travel on it. Eddy

RE: Follow up question- no pep on the hills

If you are at a campsite and notice someone with a unit like yours try and see if the owner will help you. I have found almost everyone will help if asked. Just try and find one with the same chassis it does not have to be the same coach. Eddy
