RE: Adding a second battery?

I have 2-12volt batteries but if I did dry camping for more than 3 days I'd have gone to 6volt batteries.
key thing to all of this battery stuff is they have to be wired properly. Use 2 like batteries.
And, a rule on batteries (in series or pallarel)is if you wire a new one with an old one in a few weeks the new one will be just like the old one.

RE: House battery question

your interstate battery is fine for RVing. it isn't the perfect battery but it is what most of us use. but of course if you want a REAL RV battery here you go: http://www.apexbattery.com/12-v--250-ah-8d-deep-cycle-agm-rv-recreational-battery-ub-8d.html?utm_source=googlepepla&utm_medium=adwords&id=41442439746&utm_content=pla&gclid=CMDA8rXap7cCFUJqMgodR1kAtg I'd think not.
coming from Michigan, in the winter I'd just take the batteries out and put them in the basement.

RE: Did I buy a lemon? roadtrek ranger 2013

don't have any idea about the "key" but what you are describing would, I think, be what RVing is all about.
again, call the dealer and schedule a follow up visit for all of your issues, this is normal. And since you are miles away and you need your A/C fixed now, just do to a RV dealer (who deals with that A/C brand) in your area to help you. NOTE: it is Spring and you may have to wait weeks to get into a dealer.
sorry but this is RVing at its finest.
here are the CW around your area: http://www.campingworldofstatesville.com/

RE: campgrounds to stay away from?

love some walmarts. there is one on the edge of durham,nc where you park your rv next to a walking park with a beautiful stream.
in Asheville, nc there is also a great walmart where you park right next to a park and a stream.
yes, there are some great walmart rv parks:-)

RE: Direct TV or Dish

I have dish. sometimes hitting the satellites is a pain. I use a tripod and dish dish.
i'm thinking about going to one of those "cubes" that you can put anywhere. the only problem is that they can run up to $700. oh well, we'll see.

RE: 3 month trip to the Maritime Provinces

you MUST go to twilinggate newfoundland and go cod jigging. my wife still talks about it.
as for fuel, you always need a couple of backup gallons.

went from 34 to 39. so far no problem.
as for tight spots, there have always been a few tight sites for all my trailers but there are usually some old truck drivers who will help you.

RE: batteries

read read read about batteries.
the increase in amps works when you have them wired correctly (I had to teach a dealer how to wire batteries correctly for max. amps)...and that both batteries are in good condition. if one is weaker than the other you won't get the max. amps.

RE: Truck

kinda of like the one ton idea too.
but if you get a 3/4 ton you'll be able to pull pretty much anything. Just get one you like...chevy, ford or dodge. I'd stay away from gas 3/4 trucks however.

RE: Multi Zone Thermostat and 2 ACs on 30 amp service

we're in Mexico and are surprised that the 30amp service they have here lets us use both A/Cs. Of course it blows when my wife turns something else on.
So, I guess you'll have to try it.
also, one A/C keeps the whole trailer cool enough at 92 degrees.
