Storing items in a trailer
While technically not a truck camper question, this group is the one most likely to be hauling around an enclosed trailer.
I've picked up a nice 7x12 enclosed bullnose trailer. I've set it up for its primary cargo, my two motorcycles and my mountain bike.
Now for the question:
I need to set things up to haul all the gear I be bringing along. I think I want to stay away from attached shelves and cabinets, since they'll likely get in the way when I eventually use it to haul things other than the bikes. My thoughts at this time are to use plastic storage boxes, which I can secure with straps or bungees to d-rings on the floor and walls to keep them from sliding around. Seems like it would be easy to configure and change as needed.
Sound like a plan? Other suggestions?
RE: What is the best mp3 player for old time radio programs
Here is an update. I used itunes to give an album name to groups of shows. Using my m250 Sandisk player, I created folders for programs and then just dropped the files into those folders. The folders give me the contol I want, and the album name lets me select a specific program, like Dragnet. I'm going to stay with this player since it now does want I want without having to sync files. It may be only 2 GB, but it is infinately less frustrating than the more expensive (read: more complex) players.
Thanks for your suggestions.
RE: What is the best mp3 player for old time radio programs
Playlists are possible on all of my players, but on the newer players they are not simple drag and drop. I can also edit and add tags, but one at a time isn't much use when my current file count is over 5,000 and growing.
My oldest player can do exactly what I want, but it is only 1.0 GB. A 4-8 GB user-friendly player is what I'm lookng for.
RE: What is the best mp3 player for old time radio programs
The files have been downloaded from the internet or ripped from CD's. They are all mp3 files. The problem is that many don't have any artist, or album information. The Sandisk will play them, it just won't allow me to easily organize them. It thinks everything you are putting in is a song or album with complete information...and without that information, it just lumps everything as "unknown".
What is the best mp3 player for old time radio programs
I'm looking for an mp3 player (other than an ipod) that works well with old time radio mp3 files. What I really want is to be able to create a folder for a certain show, and then drop some of the files in that folder, basically creating my own "album". With the Sandisk e260 I had, it wanted to list each individual show as an "unknown album" and "unknown song". This is unexceptable when you have 250 files from 10 different radio programs.
I also find using Windows Media Player 11 very annoying. I just want to go from My Music to the player.
I'm hoping someone else has already found a good solution for this problem.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
RE: Towing a trailer, anything special to think about?
Excellent choice wrt the brakes. Are the bikes real heavy & do you plan to haul lots of extra gear on the trailer on a regular basis? EG: Tool boxes, extra water, firewood, generator etc.
I ask because a box is sometimes a nice addition to have to help secure things & protect them from the elements.
The BMW is about 650 lbs. The other motorcycle, a Yamaha TW200 only weighs about 260 lbs.
Pretty light load overall.
Towing a trailer, anything special to think about?
The 835 is finally coming out of semi-retirement. It hasn't been on the truck for over two years. (Not much time for the camper after travelling 70,000 miles the last two years on the BMW.)
I'm purchasing a 7x12 trailer, primarily to haul my two motorcycles. I've trailer a little with the camper in the past, but nothing like I'll be doing now that retirement is within sight.
Thinking about a rearview camera, but not sure about that. I'll often be hooking up by myself, but gettng out to check progress isn't a big thing.
Anyway...just thought I'd check for any words of wisdom.
