RE: URGENT PROBLEM: Can't get the bed to slide back in

With out pup one of the bunks went across the door opening. There was a cureved peice of metal that allowed the bunk to go up into the opening on the other side of the door. Well the kids would some times take the curved peice of metal out because well a 2 year old and one year old can do this. anyway if they did it then when I slid the bunk in the corner would drop down and hit the side of the dooe frame and not go into the opening it was supposed to thus would not close. Could be something as simple as this.
Hmmmmm this sounds odly familar on my old starcraft always needed 2 people to push in the front bunk

RE: Light weight large family TT ideas

THe Passport 29BH should be light enough for your TV. My Chevy Silverado 1500 tows my 7,000 lb Springdale fine. The forum will advise you to tow a pop-up with a 2500 pickup.
i would have to agree with you on this one my k1500 suburban tows my 8k tt with no problems even through pa mountains

broke sadle bracket

anyone ever broken a reese weight distribution sadle bracket.....
only used them maybe 6 times this year and one of the bracket lift pins snaped off on me i had to jack the trailer and truck up sky high to get it up all the way and secured kinda iritated about it i can tell the pin has been cracked for some time with the rust that was on the break but the sadles are only 18 months old. I always lift up the front of trailer to make it easier to lift them too (i have a bad back) my dads and my friends have never broken and the ones my dad has are 25 years old

RE: Anyone use Michelen LTX A/T2 on their TV?

i'm not so sure you will like the ride of the e rated tires no mater which brand you get in order to get the maximum wear out of them you will have to keep them filled to close to their maximum pressures and i will tell you that you will more than likely not like the ride they will give you if you really dont need the extra weight cap. then just stay with the p-metric ltx 2's they are still a good tire

RE: side to side leveling

BAL
I assume this doesn't come in a model for trailers with dual axels does it?
Sure does.... it's called purchasing 2 ;)\
Not trying to sound stupid but would this work out ok? I would buy two just for the ease of using these...I am going to be storing my camper at a campground where I call when i am ready to camp and they tow my camper to the spot for me (do not have a tow vehicle at this time so this is my option for now if i want to continue to use TT). So for me right now using leveling blocks isn't really an option without a TV to pull up on them. But a bal leveler (or two), i do believe would enable me to level without a TV.
Does this sound about right?
it will really depend on how heavy the trailer is in your situation i would use a botle jack inbetween the axles and level that way dont let the jack down while the stabilizers are down though you could crush them

RE: Wiring for dummies - me

the dome circuit is seperate from the marker fuse i'm thinking that the short would have to be in the pigtail or the connector for the headlamp switch does it have any burnt looking marks on the connector????

RE: Wiring for dummies - me

ok well a 90 suburban does not have a body computer it is all relays and circuit breakers more than likely you have a short to ground somewhere but like someone else has said does it do itwhile the trailer is still hooked up or not if yes then the problem is in the trailer if not then the problem might be in the connector for the trailer or the wiring at the headlight switch sounds more like a headlight switch problem if the interior lights are staying on

RE: Q: Bargman -> LED matching

when i swapped out my markers i used houshold window caulking the kind that doesnt dry hard so far so good with the lights i put in
but i didnt change the brake lights either because of the same reason original poster described but i did something different i bought some led 3rd brake light strips and wired them in to the brake wire they work good for the brake lights but they really dont have enough time to energize with theturn signals so i guess i might just replace the bulbs

RE: when mickey mouse attacks

Although mistressofdistress is correct, I have had good experience applying iron on patches to vinyl on my Jayco.
The bunkends have a weak spot where they come down over the ends of the bed slide outs. My front bunk ripped and was replaced by Jayco. The replacement has a second layer of material in those spots, so Jayco must be aware of the problem and changed their design.
But I decided to be proactive with the rear bunk and add my own reinforcing material. I used iron on jeans material patches. A trick recommended for ironing patches onto synthetic material, and a tip from grandma, and it worked just fine.
1) Use a medium heat for synthetics
2) Preheat the patch before applying to the material to be repaired.
3) Only apply from the back side (fabric side)
4) Lay a slightly dampened kitchen towel under the vinyl.
5) Don't leave the iron on too long in one spot.
6) It will take 2 to 3 minutes - check the edges for adhesion every so often.
Don't forget a firm surface to iron on.
HTH
