dometic rm 2807 door replacement

The door broke off it's hinges on the bottom or refrig part. I repaired the broken hinge with jb weld. How in the world do you put the door back on? I think someone who has done it before might know the answer.

Dometic RM 2807 refrig

Proud owner of above mentioned fridge. In a 94 newmar. I need the female part of the door hinge. Especially the bottom one. Not the freezer door but the reefer door. It appears to be a plastic strip that runs along the bottom of the door and has a female hole to accept the male post that is mounted to the fridge. I couldn't even see it referred to in the parts list. Too much stuff in door, I didn't have it leveled good yet and when it was opened it took off and bang, down on the floor. I duct taped it up pretty good but need a better fix. Any help is always appreciated. We had a great week at the lake, 70's every day. Nice.

RE: Duo Therm roof Air conditioner

I called the closest RV repair business and talked to their mechanic. He said it sounded like a stuck relay and said to remove the filter in the ceiling and bang on something. I told him I have the type that has return air ducts throughout the rv, he said uh oh, maybe I could drive it down a rough road. Or, go up on top and bang on it. Looks like I will just have to get by with one air conditioner this trip.

Duo Therm roof Air conditioner

Yikes! Turned on the air conditioners to cool down the RV for our trip tomorrow. Front Unit is acting up. After a few moments I thought I heard the compressor kick on. Well I'm a little mixed up now but what I do know is if I turn the power on at the thermostat with the fan on auto, no matter where I set the temp above or below room temp or outside temp, the fan keeps running and the compressor does not seem to come on now? What can I check? Thanks for any thoughts.

RE: Power Chip in tow vehicle

I do not have personel experience with this but, I was visiting with a man that is envolved in agriculture and he was telling me about some short of chip or something that can be put on and taken off the engine that increases horsepower and increases mileage, both by quite a lot. If I can remember the name I will put it here.

RE: Atwood 10 gas/electric direct ignition water heater

Well to wrap up my little tale of woe. I began following all the helpful tips I got on here and reading the leaks, googling, youtube, etc. Then I went out with my multimeter, proding and poking here and there. I followed advice I got somewhere to use a pencil eraser on the connection on the control board. I took off all the connections and tried to clean them off and put them back. At a point I decided just to mow the lawn, came into the house and sat down and started thinking about this thing and I had a nagging suspicion I had left the waterheater switch on in the motorhome. I went and checked and sure enough it was the red light was lit. I flipped it off and kind of as an afterthought flipped it on again. It immediatly lit then went out in a blink. I sorta freaked and turned it off. I then flipped it on again and it flashed and went off. I thought wait a minute this is how it always used to work last year. I went outside and sure enough it was roaring away. Not sure what I did to fix it but as the troubleshooting guide said. Most problems can be traced to loose, corroded or somehow bad connections. Thanks again for the tips folks, this is a good little forum.

RE: Atwood 10 gas/electric direct ignition water heater

I found the fuse in the fuse panel. It looks good, but, my soninlaw told me how to check it with a voltmeter to see if it was intact by switching voltmeter to ohms. So, if the fuse is good, I am going to try to determine if there is juice on each side of the fuse. I am not sure how to do that. My soninlaw got called away before I could get a good answer from him. If that checks out I think I should try to clean all the contacts on that board type deal. I am thinking that the problem is it is not getting 12volts cause there is nothing happening when the switch is turned on in the RV. Any comments welcome.

RE: Atwood 10 gas/electric direct ignition water heater

Yes, I did turn on the range and it fired right up. I got a lot of gas too, pun intended.

RE: Atwood 10 gas/electric direct ignition water heater

Thanks for the reply Old-Biscuit. Yes 12v dc is On, I will look for a fuse. There is a fairly large fuse panel kind of under the bed, could the fuse for this thing be in there? The battery disconnect for the house battery is connected. The converter and other 12 volt stuff seems to work. Lights. Slide out. I did find a red wire that came somewhere from the top of heater and changed into what could be that "thermal cut out". It appeared intact. I'll go out again in the morning and see what I can do. Thanks for the info

Atwood 10 gas/electric direct ignition water heater

It's that time of year and getting the old girl out of mothballs. I've got the above mentioned water heater in a 94 newmar mountaire. It has always fired up when I turned on the switch on the wall. Today, nothing. No click, click, click, no nothing. I switched on the electric part waited a bit and the water was warming up. Got gas. Any tricks or thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Winterizing Nightmare!

In my usual fashion I made what could have been a 45 minute job into a 6 hour nightmare. This was my first time. We are expecting an early freeze tonight and I felt compelled to spring into action. I read all the literature I could find, went to the store and got 2 gallons of the pink. Opened many valves, closed many valves, put the siphon hose into the pink, started the pump and I felt something was wrong, couldn't figure out what. Before I knew it, 2 gallons out on the ground about twenty feet away from where I put it in. Ate lunch, went to the store, ran some errands, pondered all that I had done wrong and how I was going to do it right this time. Long story short, 2 more gallons, this time into the water tank which I did not have the smarts to shut the drain valves, onto the ground. Back to the store, 2 more gallons, now I'm really looking extra hard for what is going wrong. I found it. I had a leak at the connection I made to bypass the water heater, very dark and difficult to get to. I fixed it and was able to get it all winterized. I am sore and tired. Still, I tell myself that I saved a bunch of dollars in the long run and learned a good lesson.

RE: Blue Ox Tow Bar

Wow, some of you folks have very sensitive feelings. I have tried to hear or feel or sense, in some way when the tow bar locks, but, I can't hardly tell my Jeep is back there at all except when I turn a corner and I can see it in my mirror. I do want to say that I am very pleased with those Blue Ox tow bars and the whole business of towing a vehicle behind my RV. It made our vacation much more enjoyable to have another vehicle when we stopped.

RE: Blue Ox Tow Bar

I purchased the same, before our last trip. I hook them up, drive a few hundred feet or so then stop and check them when safe to do so. No problem thus far. My rear camera doesn't work, so I never hear them "click". That would be nice. Next project!

RE: chassis generator charging house batteries

Thanks to all, especially Doug. I thought the alternator should charge both battery sets, especially given that when I had to replace the alternator last year it was the most amperage of the two choices for that engine. Anyway, I wanted to know, cause our generator is on the fritz and want to have enough battery to keep the water and toilet in working order when we hit the road tomarrow for home. Been a great 30 days out here in South Fork, Co. Seems I spent much of my time and most of my money at the Rainbow Grocery store.

chassis generator charging house batteries

I should know the answer but I don't. Does the alternator, I should say, of the engine, charge the house batteries as we go merrily down the road?

RE: Onan Emerald 6500 gasoline powered

Ok, well, I flipped the breakers and went ahead and hit the starter. Nothing much happened, as in, the engine never turned over, but, I could hear a somewhat faint whirrrring noise that came from the back side of the generator. I guess it could be a starter motor not kicking in? That might be the best thing that could happen at this point. Gonna quite messing with it I think.

RE: Onan Emerald 6500 gasoline powered

Thought of a couple more questions. I happen to be hooked up to 30 amp power, no issues. If I flip the two breakers directly on the onan generator off, Is it safe to push the start button on the generator, so I can see what will happen? I have got a sneaking suspicion that there is a short somewhere in the those starter wire connections.

RE: Onan Emerald 6500 gasoline powered

I have an emerald plus 6500. I wonder if there is a short or loose wire associated with the remote start switch or I wonder if the start switch on the generator itself is sticking and what effect either of these situations might have. Do you folks think I have done serious damage to the generator? It will be about two weeks before I can get some professional help, in person that is. Thanks for any idea'!

Onan Emerald 6500 gasoline powered

Wow, I don't know what the problem is. We took off on with the generator and Air conditioners (2) running. Got about 4 hours away and then the generator was not running. It was making a sort of clicking noise. I touched the stop button and the clicking noise stopped, we continued on without turning anything back on. Now when I try and hit the start button, there is just some clicking. If I understand some of my books I got with it, the generator is actually the starter motor? How bad do you think it is?
