Looking for a CG near New Britain, CT

Hello all. I am looking for a campground near New Britain, CT. In looking on line, I only see a handful of options and most don't have good reviews. However, sometimes I know those reviews are bogus, so I am wondering if anyone on this forum has any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

RE: Jaycee Greyhawk 31FS bunks, bathroom door

We have the 2017 31 FS and yes, you are correct, the door hits the bottom bunk area, but I am a pretty big buy at 225lbs and I can get into the bathroom without issue. It's more of an annoyance more than anything to be honest. It was not a deal breaker for us though and love the model so far.

RE: Starting RV While Winterized

I only brought in the house battery. I also have a 30 amp connection from my garage I can plug in, but I was wondering if I keep the battery plugged into a 30amp service, will that affect the battery? Overcharge? Will the water boil off the battery or will the converter properly trickle charge it?

Starting RV While Winterized

Hello all. I have a question I am hoping I could get help with. I have winterized my class C Jayco motorhome. I pulled the battery and brought it inside my house and put it on a battery tender. I want to be able to start my RV and run the generator throughout the winter to get the fluids running through them. Do I have to reinstall the battery every time or can I run the generator without the battery on? If I can run it without, can I put a load on the generator without battery? Will the 12V items like lights run without a battery connected even though the generator is on? I am thinking I cannot and will have to reinstall the battery, but wanted to confirm. Thanks in advance for the help! James

RE: 2 Questions for Jayco Greyhawk Owners

Yes, it has J-Ride. Actually, I have not gotten them to work at all, but I would mostly like to hear the TV (main TV) come over those speakers. James

RE: 2 Questions for Jayco Greyhawk Owners

J-D, I do have metal valves and not rubber. I already have the extenders on the inside valves. I just need to know if 135 degree or 190 degree work better. I appreciate your feedback. James

2 Questions for Jayco Greyhawk Owners

I am a owner of a 2017 Jayco Greyhawk 31FS. I just returned from its maiden trip of about 1,800 miles from NJ to Wisconsin and back and it went flawlessly. I do have 2 questions though. 1. Does anyone know how to get the internal speaker that are in the ceiling in living room to work with TV? (or anyway for that matter). 2. I need to purchase wheel valve extenders for the outside dually tire. I was able to remove the wheel cover and get better access to it, but I don't feel like doing that every time to check air or fill up. I was thinking the 135 degree valve extenders would work, but would like an opinion. I think the 190 degree will be too much bend. Hopefully, someone has added these and can assist. Besides that, the motorhome was better than I expected and we are getting away again this weekend for a trip with the whole family for three days. Thanks again for any info you can provide....Regards....James

CampPark Resort in Niagara Falls

Hello. We are planning for a trip to Niagara Falls and see that CampPark resort gets some pretty good reviews. We also like the fact that the bus to the falls is right outside the campground which is convenient since we won't have a toad with us. Can anyone give us their feedback on this campground? Thanks in advance! James

Hard Wired or Portable EMS (surge protector)???

Hello. I am purchasing a class C motorhome and have a question for all. I am torn between purchasing a hard wired EMS vs a Portable version. Can anyone provide any suggestions. I was looking at the Progressive Industries as well as the Surge Guard brands. I know you have to look at Joules and all that stuff. Just don't know whether to get hard wired or portable. If portable, then you have to get a lock guard or something so it does not "grow legs" and if I get a hardwired version, and something happens to it, I am stuck until I get it fixed in order to get power. I am torn!!! Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated! Not looking for a brand suggestion, just hard wired vs portable. Thanks again in advance! James

RE: louisville ky campground

Last April, we stayed in the Louisville South, KY in shpherdsville, KY. It was about 20 minutes from the Louisville Expo center and was a straight shot up one main highway. Very easy to get to. Sites were nice size and hosts were very nice. We would stay there again if we were going through the area.
