RE: Camper tie downs

Trucks and TC information would be very helpful. Pics would be great.
I am not aware of any system that attaches a TC to the bed rails of a pick up truck. That doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.
I am not an engineer, but I don't think that the bed rail of any pick up truck is strong enough to hold securely and safely a TC.
There are system to secure the TC to the bed and rear bumper of a truck and systems to secure it to the chassis of the truck, but those systems require a permanent installation of brackets, hardware, etc. They are not designed as a "universal" system that you can easily remove and switch them to another truck.

Nice TC! Excuse my ignorance. I am not very familiar with this brand of TC. What are those white tubes on the right side of the roof?
They are small racks that I can use to transport things such as a kayak or other long items.
Very cool! I like your TC.

How did you secure the box to the roof? It looks to me like the roof rack was used to mount the solar panel.

RE: CB radio

You will need to bite the bullet and drill a 1" hole in your left front fender for mounting it.
Certainly an option, but not necessarily. I have the 102" whip installed in my front bumper.

RE: Dodge Sirus Antenna relocation???

This article is not specific to Dodge, but it should give you a pretty good idea in what you can on your Dodge.

Here is the link for the adapter that you may need, depending on your set up.

I have the same truck. Unloaded = 21MPG; loaded (12,760 lb) = 14.5MPG.

RE: Sahara - A trip report

I just spent the last 5 hours riveted to the monitor reading and looking at the amazing pictures! Just like when you are reading a great book and can't put it down, but better. I even had dinner sitting at my desk. Very well done and thank you for taking the time to put this together for the entire world to enjoy it...and to top it off, a video. Certainly a different and refreshing dimension to the report. Amazing!

RE: End of the year trip, looking for suggestions in Florida

I'll suggest some of my favorite places:
-->>Ocala National Forest - it's huge, but one of my favorite spots is the Salt Springs Recreational Area. Nice facilities and full hook-ups. A great base to explore the area.
-->> Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge - located just north of the Kennedy Space Center. Black Point Wildlife Drive is a must. Yes, your TC will make it. I've done it. You can stay at Jetty Park in Cape Canaveral.
-->> JN Darling National Wildlife Refuge - in Sanibel Island. The Wildlife Drive is awesome. If you want to stay on the island, there is 1 (one) RV park. I suggest reservations. (I can't remember the name.)
-->> St. Augustine - When in town, a great place to eat is the Columbia Restaurant. Fantastic Spanish food. Paella is the specialty of the house. They opened the first restaurant about 100 years ago in Ybor City (Tampa Bay). Another great place to eat is Acapulco Restaurant. Try the Acapulco Margarita or any of the Margarita specialties. Awesome! A great place to stay is Anastasia Island State Park. Very well maintained by the state and highly recommended. If nothing is available there, you can stay at Ocean Grove RV Resort, just a couple of mile from the State Park in St. Augustine Beach.
I am in Orlando. Keep my contact information and feel free to contact me if you come to this area. Have fun!

RE: TC Mattress Label

Interesting. I don't know if mine had it because I bought my TC used. The first thing that I did was to buy a new mattress.

RE: bed direction

North/South. Same reason as many others. You don't have to climb over each other to get in or out. I would not consider East/West.

RE: Trip report: Yosemite in the snow Nov 2012

BRAVO for those pics! I grew up overseas and FLA is home for the last 21 years. It never cease to amaze me the beauty of that side of the country. Nothing like it in Florida. I am planning a long trip next year and will certainly visit that place. Thank you for sharing!!
