RE: Your Rig

Hey guys.
Our first post, we struggle for info in the UK as 5th wheels are pretty rare so hopefully this forum will help us out over time with our newbie questions lol!!
Some great rigs on this thread, guess ours is nothing special but we love it especially as its super clean.
We have a early 99 7.3 Powerstroke F350 and a 1989 Newmar Kountry Aire 32' (34 foot front to rear) all original exterior with updated white and brown leather interior.
We wanted bigger but the UK sucks and rules and regs restrict us big time, personally I'd love a 40' King of the road pulled by a Freightliner FL60 OR FL70.
Anyway HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!

LOL..........as an ex Brit (emigrated Canada 2005) I know exactly what you mean....as I used to "caravan" in the UK & Europe (camp in 'American').
Of course you know that when ever you get to a "caravan park/site" people there will raise their eyes in snobbery disgust! LOL.

RE: Your Rig

New Tow vehicle, I'm a Ford man at heart.... but they just can't leave the motors alone.
So I moved to the Chevy....and I'm really liking it!!!

We are going to trade our TT in for a 5th and also our gas 1/2 for a 1 ton diesel (see sig.).
I am researching the hell out of diesels at present.
You input please?

6and3/4 bed / NON Slide Fiver Hitch / Fiver Campers ?

Still thinking hard about switching to a Fiver.
Would like to get a Super Duty as the TV.
8ft beds are thin on the ground here in the Maritimes, so I may have to go for 6and3/4 bed.
Would like to avoid a 'slider hitch'
Anyone recommend a Make/Model 5er that can go near 90 degree turn on a fixed hitch?

RE: TV trade from Gas to Diesel 6.0L Powerstroke F250 2005

I thanks you all for the inputs so far......
I have decided....against acquiring the 6.0 powerstroke now.
Some of the reasoning in that is from the input on this thread I started.
My current TV (see sig') although not suitable for a 5er (TV's bed length) that I would like to buy...has never let me down whatsoever.
So....I think I will stick with a gasser and seek a TV with a 6 1/2ft or 8ft bed, for my change from TT to 5er.
I am sorry for causing any rioting on this thread. LOL.
OP.

TV trade from Gas to Diesel 6.0L Powerstroke F250 2005

Well.....I have said in the past NO, but now I might.
I have my eye on a deal for an 05 F250 6.0L diesel and need input on what to check?
I have researched the h**l out of checking the EGR valve for soot and where it sits for dampness.
What other things do I check.

RE: Trading in TT for a Fiver....We like this one?

Titanium is specifically designed to be able to use with a short bed truck without a slider hitch, not too many short bed 1 tons out there. Definitely 3/4 ton towable.
Our garage is only 247" long for the TV to sit in during winter.
We wanted to avoid a slide hitch, which meant commiting to an Ext/Supercab with 8 ft bed, but now you have pointed out something that might mean a 6 1/2 ft bed would suffice?, then we could get our preference of TV which would be a 1 ton Crew Cab with 6 1/2 bed and fixed hitch??? If Titaniums can truly swivel through to 180?

Trading in TT for a Fiver....We like this one?

Any input on this one please?
We feel we will need a One Ton TV to pull this?
Has anyone had experience of a Glendale Titanium 5er?

TV info please...trading in TT, we are getting a 5er!!!

Yes we are....and so our current TV (see sig') which is great for our current TT, we feel needs to be changed when we trade in our TT for a Fiver!
This is a request for info' on how to avoid "cab damage"?
We know that some would fit a 'slider' to our TV and off down the road they would go....but we are going to switch to a 3/4 ton TV minimum and we want to get a one that has a long enough bed to avoid using a 'slider hitch'?
So....all your input's please on which 2008 onwards Ford F250s, GM and Dodge 2500s cab/bed combos would work with a NON slide fiver hitch please.
If possible we want to avoid a TV with an 8ft bed?
Also still having a crew cab would be a bonus?
