RE: Anyone used Shade Pro products?

I just got one and used it for the first time this past weekend. It worked great! It blocked the sun and kept us cool. The material is strong and durable and it installed easily. The only thing I would recommend would be to get bungy cords to hook the screen onto the stakes that come with it.

RE: Dealer hitch setup poll.... please respond

My dealer set my hitch up properly while I observed. I had to tweak it once fully loaded, but that was to be expected.

RE: Ground fault receptacle won't re-set

Did you check the fuse panel to make sure you didn't trip a breaker? If a breaker was tripped the led on the gfi plug wouldn't be on though would it? It doesn't hurt to check the fuse box. Mine wouldn't reset once and it turned out I tripped a breaker. Good luck!

RE: Bal X Chocks?

It will stop some of the forward and rear movement of the trailer. However, your trailer has it's own suspension system so you will still feel some movement, but not as much. I use two on mine, but there is still movement at times, even with two X-chocks and the stab jacks snugged up. Some on this site use stablizers that attach to your trailer frame and your stab jacks. They report good stability with these. Hope this helps!

RE: So how many wax their units?

I had the Xzilon Molecular Adhesion treatment put on my new Cardinal 5th wheel and the Inside treated as well. It has a 5 year warranty and there is no fine print the contract. Just wash the camper when dirty and the bugs just wash off. It is double coated to protect against love bugs. Also protects against buird dropings and tree sap. Provides UV protection. It has rained for the last two days and as soon as it dried there were no water spots anywhere. I don't usualy go for these after market type treatments but I have had experience with this product on aircraft and it works as advertised. No need to wax, just wash as normal. Where would one find this product?

RE: So how many wax their units?

When we purchased our class c we purchased some spray on protectant, it was a dream! The surface felt like silk. It is suppose to lasts few years. Please expand on this: This is a sealant that the RV dealerships apply to the units to give it that high gloss shine that some have. You pay top dollar for the application, but it comes with a 5 year warranty. If it "came from the dealer" and was "high dollar" with a "5 year warranty", don't you have to have it checked out every so often to comply with the 5 yr warranty? Usually those "dealer applied applications" that cost so much aren't really all that and they're so many "small print" items, that if some don't follow them to a tee, if something does happen with the finish, it won't be covered under the 5 yr warranty.... not knocking it, just have never seen one of these dealer applications last that long or cover all that they're supposed to cover... I'm sure there is. I didn't get it applied to my unit though. They just showed me the difference between a unit with the application and a unit without it. The difference was night and day, but I couldn't cough up the money to have it done at the time. The techs in the shop did tell me that an RV sealant is better to use on RVs than wax is. They said that a sealant offers better UV protection and it lasts longer than wax. I have yet to try either application to my unit though. That is just what I was told.

For those of you with SuperSprings...

For those of you with SuperSprings... 1) What setting are you using for the bolts on the bottom of the shackels (the two bottom holes, the two top holes, or one in the top hole and one in the bottom hole)? 2) How much rear end rise are you experiencing with your TV unloaded? 3) How much squat/sag are you experiencing in your TV with your rig connected to it? 4) How much squat/sag did you eliminate before you installed SuperSprings?

RE: Difficulty Getting Trailer Coupler to Secure to Hitch Head

To answer a few questios that Ron had: 1) the tongue weight of the TT is approximately 900 pounds with the battery and propane tanks. 2) the bars are rated for 1200 lbs. I called Equalizer and spoke with one of their representatives. They felt that the bars were sufficient for the tongue weight. They recommended that I take out two washers and raise the L-brackets one hole. They said it this set-up should offer the same weight distribution as my current set-up w/o having such a tilt on the ball. We will see how this works. When you say approximately 900 #...It sounds like you are estimating.. A TT of that size and style can have a much heavier TW than one may think. Have you actually wieghed it? This is important, as if the TW is a lot heavier, then none of the proposed solutions will work....And it is sounding a awful lot like the bars are too light. According to the manual and my experiences. One washer is about equal to one hole...Doing as the rep said will likely transfer less weight to the front of the TV....Is this the goal? Gotta be careful about phone advise. It is often given by whomever is available when the call comes in.. The manual has been put together by engineers who SHOULD know. It is an estimation b/c I do not have the exact number of the tongue weight b/c I have not individualy weighed both propane tanks and the battery. I estimated on the heavier side though. The reason Equalizer recommended taking two washers out of the hitch was b/c there was too much slant on the bars when only one washer was taken out.

RE: Difficulty Getting Trailer Coupler to Secure to Hitch Head

They said that if I took two washers out, instead of one, the bars would sit parallel on the L-brackets. We shall see how it works!

RE: Difficulty Getting Trailer Coupler to Secure to Hitch Head

When I lower the trailer onto the hitch, the ball goes into the trailer coupler. After that, it is hard to move the trailer coupler lock (where the pin goes through the hole) forward. I have pulled the TV forward to give the coupler lock room to slide forward, but the coupler lock will not slide forward as it should.

Difficulty Getting Trailer Coupler to Secure to Hitch Head

I recently adjusted my Equalizer set-up. I added an additional washer in the hitch head. This is the 8th (and final) washer. I am finally pleased with the set-up as the trailer is level and I am only getting a half inch rise in the front of the tow vehicle. The problem that I am running into is that I am having a hard time getting the trailer coupler to lock onto the hitch head due to the tilt of the hitch head. I tried taking a washer out and raising the L-brackets one hole, but that did not work because there was too much of an upward slant on the bars. If I lower the hitch head one hole (which would require inverting the shank), I will not get the correct weight distribution. Any ideas and/or recommendations?
