RE: Traveling in bad weather

I have Been through the tornado country many times. We have yet to see one. Yes it is a concern but don't spend a lot of times worrying about it. A lot of campgrounds will have a shelter. usually a restroom or shower and will make sure you know bout it. If you are caught in the open and can't avoid it, Terry's advice is sound.

RE: For Pow-Wows, Rendevous and Docents

I had a friend who did mountain man reinacting. He and a few others would take a flatboat every year and float down the river. They would stop at all the towns so schools could come down and children could see what being a mountain man was about. He had DW and I talked into creating a persona of a pioneer family to talk about our trip across the prairie but the job took me away before we could do it.

RE: Have not tent camped in 30 years

I paid $50 for a brand new coleman tent at the neighbors yard sale. It's 10x16 I think. So I don't have much invested in it.

RE: California Campground Ideas Requested - Lake/River/Beach

Lake Tahoe is a nice place to visit with lots to do. We prefer dry camping so I can't comment on hook ups. Look up lake Tahoe in RV park reviews for CA and NV should tell you what you need to know.

RE: my small town

My hometown is so small you have to be going there on purpose to get there. One road in turn around same way out. It has never in it's history had a gas station. And that's a true fact.

RE: Campgrounds in/near Gardnerville,NV

Carson valley Inn Casino has an RV park right in Gardnerville. I have stayed at several RV parks in the area. Of what's available in the area it would be my choice.

Have not tent camped in 30 years

thirty years ago we bought an RV. We have not tent camped since then. My neighbor had a nice tent in his yard sale and we bought it. We leave in about two weeks for Yosemite. The MH stays home. We will see how this goes.

RE: Turnips

I like to wrap them in foil with butter salt and pepper and put them in the campfire. Another way is to boil them 50/50 with potatoes and mash them together.

RE: CA 139 from Susanville CA to Klamath Falls Or

Not a bad road it is narrow and somewhat winding at times but very do-able. We did this in our class C 31ft pulling our toad.
