RE: using a DTV receiver in RV

You have to tell the receiver what kind of dish you are using. It may not be the same kind of dish you have at your house.
That probably is my problem then. They are not the same. Thanks.

RE: using a DTV receiver in RV

The cable to the second satellite receiver needs to run all the way to the dish. It's a whole separate system from the front receiver.
alI have not run a complete set up but I have run a separate coax from the dish to this rear receiver. No splitters in the system.
Note: the dish for the rv is not the same dish as is for the house

using a DTV receiver in RV

I bout a SD receiver for the main tv in the front of the motor home. Works fine. Then I tried using one of the house receivers for the tv in the rear of the m/h. I cannot get it to work. The error code says it cannot communicate wit the satellite. Even when I run a cable directly from the satellite to the tv it gives the same error. any ideas?
