RE: Football Team Recruiting Rankings 4/9/13

I put no stock in this. While I'm happy to see my Fighting Tigers of LSU, where they are, there is no way Bama doesn't make the list. Especially behind Tennessee, Ole Myth and Rutgers? Really?!?! And yes Bags, please do anything you can to speed up the arrival of college football season or at least get some college baseball on the tube between now and then. GEAUX TIGERS!!!

I need help from our Calgary, AB friends

The opurtunity has risen to move to Calgary for work. I move often in the business that I'm in and of all the people I know who've traveled to Calagry, they all love it. I greatly welcome the oppurtunity to work in Canada. That said, I'm having a difficult time finding rental properties in Calagry. It would be myself, DW and 7 year old son. All indications point me to Northwest Calgary. Good neighboorhoods (low crime) and schools is my most important concern. As far as work is concerend, location to any specific part of town is not a factor as I won't technically be working in Calagry. Calgary will simply be my home base and where the DW and son live. Can anyone give some do's and 'don'ts' for someone moving to Calagry; someone who has never even crossed the northern border? I'd rather live in a house vs. an apartment or townhome but would do the aprtment thing if necessary. I'd love to have a view of the mountains. I would like to not spend more than $2k a month but would if the place was right. The one thing I'd like to be somewhat close to is the airport as I'd be flying into Calgary every 2 weeks. My understanding is traffic is nothing compared to what I'm used to in Houston, Chicago and the like so I don't know if being close to the airport really matters or not. Any help from anyone on any aspect of moving to Calgary would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to working with the best border friends the U.S. could have. Thanks, Jon

RE: Scatered trash on property

No sport in that. Use a 22 and give them a chance to change their ways. :B:B

RE: Bagman and Basketball

Am I the only one that saw the Kevin Ware (Louisville) injury? My Lord, what a horrible injury. I almost lost my Easter lunch. Gave me a flash back to a buddy/teammate that a similar injury happened too, while returning a kickoff in high school football. My thoughts and prayers go out to Ware. On the upside if there is one, the injury seems to have motivated the Cardinals.

RE: Bagman and Basketball

Wow Bags I can't believe it:E No way am I trying to rub it in, believe me, I've been a LSU football fan since birth, I know disappointment. I'm just shocked, no pun intended. That was a great rally by OSU.

RE: Anyone know of a good reliable trucking co tow?

Many, many rv haulers out of the Elkhart, Indiana area; the rv capital of the world. Search the term and location and you'll find all the guys that haul from the manufacturer to the dealers. They're a dime a dozen.

RE: ABA Travel Park in Houston, Texas

That 70 miles from Winnie to anywhere on San Felipe during that time of day could very easily take you 2 hours. No way would I do it. I'm from the Houston area. I would either stay at Lakeview, South Main, or Westlake. I looked at all 3 of them today as a matter of fact. I was looking for spots as I'll be moving back to Houston some time in the next year. They are all crowded right now due to the rodeo.

RE: Windows won't go up or down ???

its more than likely the window control switch that's going out. I had the same thing happen to an older Ford of mine. Easy fix and I'm no mechanic.

RE: family vacation in Smokey Mountains

As you stated, I think the Smokeys would be great for all. Pigeon Forge for the kids (endless activities,) Gatlinburg for the adults and Smokey Mount. Nat'l Park for all. The family without the rv could rent a cabin from Sugar Maple Cabins. We stayed in the "Cedar Lodge" cabin under the "1 bedroom" listings. It only has 'one master bedroom' but has a second bedroom. It sleeps up to 10 people. We only had 4 people in it. It was pet friendly though you'd of never known there had been pets in there previously. Simply put, it doesn't get any better. As for RV parks, I can't help you there. At the time, I lived 1.5 hour from Gatlinburg and didn't want to hassle with the 5th and wanting the amenities of personal hot tubs, saunas, air hockey and pool tables etc...but I know there are great RV parks in the area. Needless to say, it would be a memory of a lifetime for all ages in the party.

RE: Space Centers

I grew up 3 miles from Johnson Space Center. It does have a lot of neat things for adults and especially kids. As for the others, I can't speak.

RE: Are you planning to return to the RGV next year?

You can't please all I guess. I'm no Winter Texan but lived in McAllen for 4.5 years. If I remember correctly, last year people were saying they wouldn't go back to the RGV because it was too cold. I'll never return for different reasons unless I go hunting or on a ride-a-long with my good buddy who is DPS out of McAllen.

RE: Campgrounds between Baton Rouge & Lafayette

Can't speak for any of the campgrounds but if you want the best boudin in the world then stay in Scott and stop at Don's on I-10 at the Scott exit next to Cajun Harley Davidson. The best meat market I've ever been to as well and I'm from that region. I could spend $1k at Don's in the blink of an eye (or I wish I could)

RE: When will it stop

McDonalds got it right. Next time you order a quarter pounder with cheese, look on the box and read the statement. The quarter lb. weight of beef is before the patty is cooked. Obviously thoughtful corporate leadership anticipated such a lawsuit.

RE: Feb. 23 is Diesel Engine Day

Didn't see that birthday listed on Facebook either. Popular Mechanics did a little article on diesel cars in this newest issue including Chevy Cruise and Volkswagen and liked them. Said the Volks got 42 in the city and 48 on the highway. I really like my diesel, might just go out sometime today and start it and drive around a bit. Can't beat the VW diesel in a car and I really like my Duramax too. Only gas engines in my house are the Harley, riding mower and weedeater

RE: Hot Rubber Smell

Most likely your truck was in regeneration mode when you smelled the burnt rubber. These 6.7 cummins do not like partial regens. Make sure you complete the regen process before turning off the engine. Theres no way to know when your in regen. I've got 6200 miles on my 12 2500 and have never seen anything on the dash display to tell me I'm in regen. So how would he know when to keep driving it? had the same issue on tuck in sig. bought an Edge Insight. problem solved

RE: Favorite non alcoholic drink with a meal

Usually drink water with meals. I might add some Sweetnlow to my water at times. Otherwise, it's diet coke or diet DP
