RE: Toyo tires

you may find them a good tire but personally would not use this type of tire. I don't want to bash them but too often items made overseas are not up to North American specs. My trailer that is only 1 1/2 years old just blew 2 of them on the way to VA Beach last week. And the tires were not over stressed/whighted and the pressure was correct. JMO

RE: Too many miles in one day

the only way this question can be answered. It depends on how you feel that day.I've driven 1100 to 1200 miles in a stretch. And yet yesterday I left Bowling Green and after 3 hours I had to pull off and have a snooze, I was beat.

RE: dead switch

Find the starter and as someone tries to repeatedly turn the key, give the sterter a couple of wacks with a hammer. It's called a dead or flat spot. It could repeat every tme you try to start or never happen again.

RE: Drivers compartment heat

i'm assuming your unir is a gasser. If the hot air is leaking from the dog house you may need to change the seal. I once had a gasser that seemed to always have hot air coming from the heater ducts and this made the AC work poorly. What I did was install 2 manual water valves going to the hearer coil on the inlet and outlet water hoses. After that what a ifference in the temp around the front. And the AC was great,

RE: Enclosed Car Hauler

I have a 24' Haulmark Race trailer. You will need the 7000# axels even though you wont use the max of the treailer. You want the larger tires. electric brakes. if you want the list of all the options on mine send me your e mail address. You will want to have a 10,000# hitch and verify the rear of your unit has the extra weight space needed. Example trailer is 9000# the hitch should be 1300# aprox but your rear axel will go to about 2000# more due to the see saw effect the trailer has on the coach. Also if you have an air bag system on your unit you will not want to use a weight distribution hitch as it will screw up the leveling system.

RE: GFCI Breakers trip

the only light i can give is the following. There is a lot of manufactures who do not understand anything about CGFI or GFI plugs or breakers. Example the new Haulmark trailer I just purchased I had the same problem. And found the panel was wired with the Ground and the neutral wired to gether. After I called the plant i was told they always do it that way. For a GFI to work correctly they need to be isolated. Check your panel in your unit.

RE: Water heater experts???

do you get hot water from the gas side. ??? If the gas is firing and the electric is working and you have no hot water. Then it is the mixing valve that is located on the back of the unit, Had that problem this winter and it is easy to change, Also it should no nore than $150, the freezer is the bar on the ice bucket raised?? is the float sensor in the freezer frozen??

RE: Legal (?) axle weights on Class A

my rear axel is rated by Monaco for 23,000 with the trailer I'm running 21,900. I've been on the turnpike that has been described and never been looked at at all. Also have spoken many times to troopers and perposly gone through commercial scales on hiways and have been told "I'm not a commercial unit" and they have no right to pull me over for this. My label says 23,000 and that is what I'm allowed. If you are not over your ratings that are noted in your unit don't worry about it. Also I'm 69' long and never had any trouble for this either. But also I don't drive 75 miles an hour

RE: New/late model, low-end Class A’s that are true four season?

virtually no unit is 100% winterised. You want to heat the unit without running the gen. You need the gen as the furnaces and heating pads take a lot of juice. The lower bays have very litle insulation you will need to do as I did I put a 12v heater in each of the bays and storage areas below. Along with this the coach came with pad heaters on the tanks. You need to buy a unit where the walls are sealed so as to not allow as much heat loss. And also humidity to form in side the walls. To get this with a monaco unit you need to go to the Scepter and up. A gaser will not do your job IMO and you will need to dig deap in the old pockets

RE: floor vibration

have the front heel barings checked for thightness. I had a vibration and after balancing and also installing balance masters brought to a TRUCK center and the bearngs needed about 1 turn on th left and half a turn on the right. Now it is great. Was told by the mechanic to have them checked every year and this will save them in the long run

RE: New 275/80 R22.5 Mich. XZA3 are rubbing frame

what would happen if you adjusted ride height sensor so the coach rides a little higher??? When you ar stopped and dump the air I've seen a lot of units that touch wheel well

RE: What do you think about the Country Coach Veranda?

for me camping/RVing is a way to meet people and being fenced in on a balcony seperates you. Also I would bet the bugs are gone but it was the Gremlins that drove them out.

RE: Need your thoughts on parts availability (Monaco)

call monaco 1-800-450-6336 pacific time zone. They will tell you who is the manufacturer and where to buy the part. They are on the rise they are not toast. I called today cause I blew a fuze (12v) and could not find it. The tech stayed on the phone with me for 35 minutes till I finally found it. With out a hesitation the next coach will be a Monaco....

RE: Hail damage on windshield...

don't know where you are heading first but if you are going south call coach glass in Oregon and ask for their warehouse near Jacksonville Fl. There is a dealer not far from them and that way you will save the transport that can run you $5-$600 alone. If you get the runaround pm me I can send you a contact who really took care of me once.

RE: Movin Over To A Class A, DP, A few Questions

I will probabally be corrected but here goes. As far as I know the Monaco/Holiday Rambler 40'(scepter and up) without a tag is one of the only units that has a rear axel rating to 23000. The towing limit is 10,000 lbs and tongue of 1000 lbs. The hitch can carry/pull more but why over load it. With the 24' trailer loaded with the car, tool box,RV and trailer spares, generater and all the other "stuff" weighs around 8800lbs. If you are going for a longer trailer would strongly suggest a tri axel for less tongue weight. Also a stacker really weighs if you go that route I really suggest a tag axel and maybe a 400 isl is not enough. Do the math. If you get serious and want info on the trailer options you may need please pm me. Also I've got a great contact at Haulmark. He helped me through it.

RE: toilet problem

if you used an antifreeze other than the "PINK" stuff the chemicals could have ruined the rubber. IT happened to me this past winter. It is no big deal to change th seal and ball.
