RE: Camping World Greenwood IN.. Backs out of sale!

They can't undo the bad publicity they've received up to now but the fact that somebody in the organization is doing the right thing is the best solution to a bad transaction on their part.

RE: Removing old Diamond Shield??

Forget about the Diamond Shield warranty. They told me the five year warranty was not for people that purchased their rigs with the DS already on it. They told me the discounted, good deal price to have it removed was $600. I talked to Beau and the owner. They also said if there was any paint damage when they took it off the paint repair was on my dime. I took it off myself last week. Diamond Shield product and customer service is a joke.

RE: Upscale RV Parks In Mexico

I just read this entire string. My take after reading it all, is that Ed White seems like a nice guy that asked a reasonable question. Many of the comments directed to him were neither nice or reasonable or helpful. JMHO.....

RE: Brake-Buddy works. . . when it wants to

I've been having similar problems with my BB. I set it up in the car and everything seems OK then hit test or change sensitivity and it loses all power. Or everthing works when I set up but when I reach my destination I look and it has no power. I've talked to BB and they've sent me a power receptace to wire directly to the battery. I did that but still had problems. They told me to buy the heavy duty one that NAPA sells, I did that and still have problems. The battery is almost new and has a good charge. Losing patience. Bob

RE: One nighter along I-95 SC

Do yourself a favor and check out Shuman's campground. I've stayed at all the others mentioned and I think this one's a winner. Shuman’s Campground 11592 Jefferies Hwy Exit 68 on I95 Walterboro, SC 29488 (888) 533-8731 Last Year's Rate: $17

RE: Tire Pressure and Ambient Temperature

Check out the chart in this forum post. It will explain the tire pressure vs. temperature relationship. Equivalent Tire Inflation Values Thread That chart is just what I needed. Thank you dkreuzen

RE: Tire Pressure and Ambient Temperature

Thanks for the advice. This is our third motorhome and we've been doing this for about a dozen years. I recently put Sumitomo tires on and the handling deteriorates if I have more than 90 lbs of air in the front tires. I get a lot of wandering. The tire weight/pressure charts for my axle weights indicate I should run 80 psi for each front tire. I have not been able to get corner weights, so I've been running 85 psi. When we came north, my cold inflation dropped to 80 psi. I suspect because of cooler/cold night time temps. I added 5 lbs to each tire and the next trip I was getting the handling issue again. It leads me to suspect that 85 psi in Florida and 80 psi in Maine equals the same psi when the tires come up to operating temperature. We're heading south soon so the issue will become academic soon.

Tire Pressure and Ambient Temperature

OK, here's my confusion factor. If I live in Florida and air up my tires to 90 psi when it is 80 degrees and then drive to Maine where night time temps are in the 40's. What sort of pressure difference should I see. I'm guessing a decrease in pressure but how much? Should I bump up the pressure to the 90 psi I run in Florida? And, tires heat up in use. Will the tires with 90 psi at 80 degrees ambient and same tires that were at say 83 psi at the lower Maine temps, equal out to a similar pressure after say 30 minutes on the road. I'm probably over thinking this.

RE: DirectTV question

I think you can change your billing address online but I don't think you can change your service/installation address online. This morning I was talking to a full timer that needed a tech (DTV) to come to his motorhome and fix a problem with his receiver. His billing and service address were the same. He did have the RV waiver. He said they would not come to where he was physically at. Customer Service changed his installation address to the campground he was at before he could have a service call. Strange

RE: DirectTV question

accsys wroteHas anyone done this by just giving them a fictional address with the zipcode being in NYC? I'd like to do the same thing. Is all of NYC on a CONUS beam or is some of it spot beamed?

RE: St Augustine fl info

295 is best choice and you won't have a problem with your 5er. I think the Stage Coach CG will also work for you. It's probably a little pricey but there is not too many other options. Anastasia State Park is in Saint Augustine Beach and is a neat place. The sites are usually hard to reserve and it is a little tight but some big rigs get in and do fine on the right site. Even thought it is an Ocean front state park, the campground is woodsy.

I just say, "No thank you." They're never pushy. And once in awhile, it's a good deal and I want it and I say, "Yes."

RE: Norcold Reefer stopped working

If the refer is bad, you can't do anymore harm to it because the thing will either need a replacement or a new cooling unit. The issue is that you can do more harm.....You can have a fire. There have been cases of fatalities and totaled motorhomes. That's why there was a recall. unfortunately the recall device has not been problem free. If you choose and I would, to continue and operate it after circuventing the recall device. Keep an eye on for signs that the cooling unit is failing. But you ARE taking a risk.

RE: Norcold Reefer stopped working

There is two possibilities. #1 - That recall device with the red light failed. #2 - The recall device performed as designed and removed power from the fridge because the cooling failed or is failing. The smell of ammonia is one tell tale sign it failed, also a yellowish powdery residue. Sometimes you have to remove a bit of insulation to see it. If I was in your situation, I would let it run and watch it closely to see if it is cooling properly, and look for the mentioned symptoms of a failing cooling unit. I had the device fail and the refer was good. I hope you're in the same situation.
