RE: Stolen Camper

I hate thieves. They used to shoot or hang horse thieves.

RE: Snowriver 810

We had a member here name George who since has gone to the big camping ground above. He had a 9.6 Snowriver on a Ford F250 4x4 but he had beefed up the springs & higher rated tires. George & his wife Vi had traveled all over the country with that set up with no problems. It can be done it all depends on how much money you want to spend to get your rig set up to handle the weight & how comfortable you are with being over GVWR.

RE: 3rd generation Dodge 3/4 or 1 ton airlift 5000 install

I sure wouldn't like the way they are sitting. I have Firestone ride rights & they sit straight with a plate that has a nub for alignment. I agree with Raften your putting too much air in them causing the sway. I put tork lift bump stops on my truck to keep the overloads engaged which also helps with the sway.

RE: Bigfoot upper bed vent?

I couldn't imagine having a vent up there. When my heater kicks on I'm kicking the covers off me until it turns off. Wife & I sleep much better in a cooler inviorment. Guess thats why we live in the PNW.

RE: Torklift Stair hand rail

fuelhauler, the hand rail is my design and seems to work well up to this point. I did talk to Northwood about the Torklift hand rail and they indicated there was really no portion of the camper that I could affix the Torklift hand rail.
Yea on my Bigfoot I was able to attach it right below the swing out hand rail because there is a stringer that runs down along the door.

RE: Torklift Stair hand rail

I thought about carpet for our steps for the same reason as you. Thats a good idea with the wooden dowels to keep it from slipping. Is that a homemade hand rail? It's different from the tork lift hand rail I have that attaches right to the camper & bumper.

RE: The story of Bear...and his eulogy

Dave thanks for sharing the life & times of Bear. Truley sorry for your loss. The pictures you posted where kind of blurry or maybe it's just my eyes right now.
Interesting about what you said about Daisy wanting to smell & lick Bears mouth. Sherman our chocolate lab just had his 2nd fatty tumor removed a few weeks ago.Our 1 yr old chocolate lab Shyan is always licking Shermans mouth. I hope it's not a sign of whats comming. Sherm just turned 10 on January 2nd & although has slowed way down do to arthuritis I'm hoping he will go a few more years.

RE: What would you guys do?

We had a simular expereance at a lake one time. The group that was camping 3 sites down were loud obnoxious & foul language. They had little kids with them & one of the guys was having a verbal fight with his wife.We were camped with a large group but we all decided to let the autorities deal with it. We called 911 & within 15 miniutes there were forest rangers & sheriffs there they hauled away both parents & another cop took the kids. The rest of their group were told to pack up & leave.

RE: we lost a dear friend....xnorp

So sadden to read this post. We were looking forward to going up & seeing George & Vi now that I'm retired. We met them in 2006 before we had bought our 1st TC. Had a great visit & dinner with them near the Seven Feathers rv park.
I guess George heard that last train whistle blow calling him home.
RIP George

RE: scisors steps and balcony

Looks simular to what I have on my Bigfoot. Only difference is I used extruded metal for the deck & welded tabs with holes to hook ratchet straps to hold down anything I want to haul on the deck.

RE: Whazoo's trip of a wifetime, a PDL doc (prettty darn long)

Another great T.R. with the adventures of the Whazoo's
I was puckered up just looking at those 4 wheelin pics. My wife would be having a cow & pounding on my head for taking such indian trails with our TC. Not that my dually & Bigfoot would even dream of such an adventure. So I will just sit here & ride along with the Great Whazoo in my den.

RE: Darn scissors stairs!

We resolved the step issue by breaking it up with a porch...
Reddog1 and I, mostly him, designed and fabricated this:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-qFbabhDeY5Q/TfJijZJfl_I/AAAAAAAABuw/DAKK1BP2DmE/s800/101_4087.JPG
As we get older we have to be more careful that's for sure!
Here is the thread for the build of the porch:
Another porch/deck build
I modeled my porch after this one when I seen last year. The only difference in mine is no drop in bins. Just extruded metal to where I can put a cooler, my inflatable pontoon boat or my Honda generator.
