RE: Big Sur Coast Highway
We did the entire length from Washington to san fran heading south, it is one of the most beautiful trips we ever took. I have driven the largest to the smallest cranes all over the country, and also driven some of the fastest race cars on dirt tracks in the south.BBBBBut when we finished the drive at san fran I said never again, we were in our Revolution 41 footer with the element as our toad, so you can't back up, there are places that you will literaly on the shoulder on the right front and on the shoulder on the left rear and in a series of turns and you will meet with simulair rigs head on. There are no warnings that I could see posted any where going south. Good luck and God bless

RE: Is Monaco next?
OK I may be puting my foot in my mouth here, and I don't know about Monaco but Tom Johnson motor homes in Charlot and marion both treated me better than any co ever has, they went out of their way big time for me,I mean to the tune of many thousands of dollars and did not have to, and I will never forget that. I know that when lawyers get involved that can really change things, so move fast and talk with Tom Johnson or one of his top level people and i'll bet you a dollar to a dougnut they will do you right

Loves fuel stops
Sunday we stopted at the loves truck stop on I 4 in Auburndale Fl. the place was full of trucks but no motorhomes, the punps in the front were set at an angle at which I did't think we could get in and out with our 40 footer pulling a toad,so I went to the truck side and got in line, the trucks in front (two) of us each filled up and then would pull up and stop then go inside and must have had a meal (each one). then one hour and 20 minutes later it was our turn, and after having to go inside and wait in line just to give them a credit card then back out to the pumps to wade around in diesel fuel , then back inside to wait in line to get the credit card back,by now it was one hour and 50 minutes since we pulled into loves truck stop. WOW isn't there a better WAY. I wish there was but I don't know of one, how do some of you do a fuel up. Please tell me your secrets.

Skyhawk0540,
Good news! I called my son who is a certified mechanic at Crown Honda in Greensboro, NC and he looked it up for you. You can pull it four down! All you have to do is start the car, go from park to reverse to neutral and than though the rest of the gears. When you come back up stop in neutral and stop the engine in neutral and key will stay in auxiliary. Do not go from reverse to neutral and turn off engine. This will damage the transmission. Make sure that everything is off that will put a drain on the battery and wait three minutes before towing. I would repeat this every two hundred miles and they do not recommend speeds over 65 mph.
You can take this to the bank! Hope this helps you out!

Acording to my 2005 honda element owners manual, you are suposted to idle the engine for three minutes after going thru the gears. thats what we have done for over 20,000 miles . (sorry Ken I don't mean anything bad by posting this , I just wouldn't want them to mess up their transmission)

RE: Rats, Part Whatever
For the last quite a few years wiring insulation has been made from soy beans and is a food source, this is why rodents eat the wiring. If you use peperment essents (not oil or flavoring) on cotton balls then put the balls in a plastic bag with holes punched in it with a hole puncher and place them around here and there it will repel them.

RE: More on Unlimited Data for Internet

User's like us that have had Verizon broadband "unlimited" for a number of years are under a different agreement then those signing the contract today. Do know that Verizon's unlimited we have has a 5G cap on it of sorts. Exceed your cap and they will throttle your speed down as a penalty temporarily. You are probably as I an never get near that 5G cap so have never had any issues.
Sprint users and those with other carriers face the same issue as we do in that their "unlimited" usage is not really unlimited as they'd like to think.
As I mentioned earlier, the forums are chock full of people who think they have unlimited access. Reality is the majority do not have -true- unlimited access!

------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you mean they can slow down and speed up your internet speed ,they should not be allowed to do that,we should have the same speed as everyone else that pays the same rate, also I thought I had unlimited use because their sales person told me so.
Today I checked and what do you know I have 5k limited use,I guess as always I should have read the fine print and not trusted anyone.

Fourthly, I'm not "inflamed" but do not like to see incorrect information spread about ethanol. While it may not be the perfect long-term solution, it currently is the only significant thing we're doing to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Better our farmers get the money than the Middle East.

Drill baby drill
Drill baby drill
Drill in Alaska on the Anwar, drill on the white house lawn if we have to, we are going to need all the oil we can find.
BTW The info I replied with is not incorrect, do the research and you will see.

Another stretch of the actual facts. The corn that is currently being used for ethanol is rarely used directly as "people" food. It is almost exclusively used for livestock feed. The livestock (or their by-products like milk and eggs) eventually become food of course------but mostly food for the wealthy.
If you're concerned about feeding the world's starving people, then you should also be campaigning against anyone eating meat or drinking milk. Then the corn acreage could be turned into wheat acreage which would feed a lot more people per acre then the livestock that is fed from an acre's worth of FIELD corn does
----------------------------------------------------------------------
well 427435 I didn't mean to inflame you so pardon me all to (well you know what I mean) The truth is that as the price of corn, sugar, beets and all other crops that are grown to produce ethanol goes up then the large farm and small farm concerns for that mater, Will convert other crop lands into the production of these crops for the use of making ethanol. Also, do you not eat beef, chicken, pork, eggs, and drink milk. And also this is just the begining, as time goes on we will need more and more of ethanol as we convert to its use.And by the way land the corn, sugar etc. being used for the making of ethanol most certainly is from the same land as it was grown on before, do you think they actualy cleared new land just for the growing of crops to be used for the production of ethanol. And where did you come up with the conclusion that I was worried about feeding the world's starving people, seems to me like some people just like to start an argument, so please excuse me if I got in on a discusion where I'm evidently not welcomed

RE: E10 IN GAS GUSLERS
-------------------------------------------------------------------
There seems to be a lot of misconceptions here. First E10 is nothing but 90% gasolene and 10% alcohol (this can either be Methanol-wood based or ethanol-grain based). Ethanol is preferred for internal combustion engines as it is less corrosive than Methanol. E10 has also been called Gasohol and has been in use for decades. E85, on the other hand, is 85% alcohol and 15% gasolene. It uses Ethanol. Engine that can be used with this fuel are today refered to as "Flex fuel". They can run on straight gasolene, E10 or E85. I doubt if a non flex fuel engine can run on E85 without damage or at least running very poorly. Flex fuel engines run on E85 by richening the mixture and that is why the MPGs suffer. E85 is a joke as the consumer thinks they are buying a cheaper fuel only to get much worse gas mileage. It is never a good idea to run any alchohol blend in older engines due to problems with gaskets, seals hoses etc that can be affected by the alcohol.

Very good, also it is never a good idea to use our limited food source as fuel, I hope the world wakes up to this fact.
