Another tire question

I have seen hundreds of posts about which tire to chose, but I can't search out any of them now that I need tires, I can't find any of them. I have a 2004 Dodge CTD 2500, 4x4, auto and I only tow lite right now. My tires are marginal for winter in Utah so I plan on buying soon. I looked at Some Cooper Discoverer ATP E rated and rated at 55k mileage. They are $300 per set cheaper than the Michelin's X radial LT2 which are rated at 70k miles. I like the slightly aggressive tread pattern better on the Cooper. I would appreciate comment from those of you with more experience. Thanks, Gene

RE: Looking at a new truck to me

I took it for a drive today. It is a 4x4 crew cab with cloth interior that is in perfect condition. It is a F350 SRW and runs good. The trans works good and the motor is strong. There are a couple of chips in the paint, but no dents or dings. The cab is huge in the back and it has the short bed, though the whole truck looks like an very long truck. Thanks for the feed back. I hope to pick it up on Monday. It only has 71 thousand miles on it and no mods that I can find.

Looking at a new truck to me

I have read so much on this forum about the F350 7.3 and how good they are. I found one with low miles and in good shape, but don't know what I should pay for it. I remember the transmissions were their weak point and the engine is their strong point. It is a crew cab and has an automatic. What is your opinion of what it is worth? Thanks

RE: 2005 Dodge 2500 AC issue

I have an 04 that just started doing the same thing. Can anyone tell me where to find the aftermarket blender door. I have repaired many truck mechanical or vacum actuated doors. Where is this one most likely at? I am a little older now and not anxious to go exploring. Thanks, Gene

RE: Bug Screens for Radiators

As a firefighter, I often saw that there was a drastic reduction in the ability to move smoke out a window at a house fire with normal window screen in it. Even with a powerful fan, it could not be forced through at any appreciable rate. Only by removing the screen could I ventilate at a meaningful rate. I believe the comparison of smoke to air moving through screen is fair. JMHO. Gene
