RE: Can You Tow A Fifth Wheel With A Ford F150 w/ 5.5 ft bed?

Why is it a bad idea to tow a fifth wheel within the ratings given by Ford? Because Ford doesn't know what they're talking about, when it comes to F-150's. You shouldn't even look at the tow guides by the manufacturer, come straight to RV.net and get the real answer. But Ford's and every other manufacturer are perfect in their tow ratings for F-250's and up.

RE: Can You Tow A Fifth Wheel With A Ford F150 w/ 5.5 ft bed?

Funny how a 1/2 ton can't tow it's max rating, not even close. You most definitely have to subtract 25% right from the top but a 1 ton can pull it's max rating and then some. The hypocrisy of this board know no bounds.

RE: Duramax - to chip or not to chip

The Allison can only handle another 20-30 HP before you'll limp it. you're looking at a suncoast plus the tuner itself; get ready to spend $1000.

RE: Replacing 245 75-16 with 265-75-16 on GMC

265's are FINE on a 6.5" rim, some are even running a 315 with no problem. If you're not interested in the width run a 255/85. Same height as a 265 and the same width of a 24

RE: PA Drivers - Weight Class Stickers

I only run class 2; 1 class below my GVW. Why would you want to pay more in taxes? DOT is NOT interested in checking campers in PA. If you don't have a DOT number don't worry about proper weight class stickers. Going from a 2 to 3 weight class raises your registration by $75. To go to a class that includes your GCW you're looking at $200 increase.

RE: mythbuster

You'll never get it will you? Perhaps staring in the sun in Kuwait will continue to make you think that You are not hurting your fellow American by supporting them. My truck built in Michigan by Michigan workers for an American company that has thousands working right here in Michigan supporting our local economy and paying taxes here not over there! Says the guy with the HONDA generator. Hypocrisy at it's finest.
