RE: Flat roof mounting solar panels.

My panels put out more when cool, can I prove it, no, do I have measurements, no. Just seat of pants. I installed mine ~ 1" off of the roof on one side of the panel, ~1.5" on the other side. I did this based on my experience with panels holding dirt & water on them. With the slight tilt they are "kind of" self cleaning. I have an excess of solar output so any minuscule loss of output is no heartburn for me.

RE: Ford E450 Tire Size

Always some supercharged DA that either can't or doesn't read a topic....or just wants to show his a..s instead of sitting quietly on it and MAYBE learning something !! No mention was made of fuel mileage, or any other reason for wanting info from some who MAY have already done the change. 19.5" wheels are available for the E450 chassis. I am getting ready to put Alcoa wheels on I thought I might investigate the larger size. Still haven't said WHY have I? Thanks for the reply Don. Are the 17.5's you are considering LT tires ?

Ford E450 Tire Size

Has anyone here replaced the 16" wheels on their E450 chassis with 19.5" wheels ?

RE: Shower Skylight - Benefit or Worthless?

Love mine and wouldn't be without. I did remove it and added a sheet of Lexan under it to handle the temperature issues though.

Battery Question

I have a pair of Trojan T105's , 11/2 yr old, I want to add a second pair. Would it be best to add the second set paired together, or make up the pairs using one old and one new in each pair ?

RE: Alcoa vs steel wheel weight

The E450 chassis uses a hub centric wheel, uses a lip on the hub to support the weight of the coach, instead of a tapered lug nut. The Alcoa is not recommended for use as an inside dual because the thickness of the wheel takes up all of the hub "lip". You can see this in the photo on the earlier post. I still want Alcoas due to their "trueness" (is that even a word?), one of the biggest ride improvements made on the OLD GMC motorhomes.

RE: HELP !!

Here is the rest of the story. The wiring for his trailer (tow car) connection shorted, blew the fuse, locked it in Park when he stopped to close a vent. Then when he was checking fuses he must have shorted the fuse for the starter solenoid so no start signal. The real gremlin was not having a owners manual showing fuse panel layout. Thanks Edit....reading about the Neutral Safety Switch on these Ford Chassis, yes it is a gremlin. I went out and found mine, to check the bolts that may loosen and give problems. You should find yours, lots of luck !

RE: HELP !!

Got it out of Park and in Neutral, then wouldn't get a start signal. Gremlins! GS towed him to a fixer....so maybe we'll hear about it. Thanks for the replies !

HELP !!

B-I-L is on the side of the road, driving a 97 ford based class C. The rig is locked in Park, no brake lights but he has no owners manual to give fuse location, or lockout solenoid location (if fitted). Any help is appreciated.

RE: Downside to Sprinters?

3 experiences with LHM on my 2 Sprinters. One about 50Mi S. of Cartwright, Labrador, the 2ond Minot, ND, the 3rd and last was Clovis, NM. Another "something" happened in Nova Scotia but don't remember what it was, just that it made us head for Maine. Ford and Chev. pickups were abundant, Sprinters....no where to be found. If they ever get a real dealer service network setup, I'll have another. Not until then.

RE: Coach House question

Mind sharing how long ago you had the air suspension installed, who did it, where, and how much? I've been considering that or the Mor-Ryde for my Lazy Daze.

RE: Downside to Sprinters?

I had 2 Sprinters, ~ 160k miles total, and loved them. The reason I got out of them was the lack of an extensive dealer network. Very dependable, but if you have problems you'd better be near a city.

RE: Coach House question

I don't own one but travel extensively with another couple who does have one, a'03 diesel. The fiberglass body is very nicely done, but as said earlier, limited storage. The main problem is the cabinets. They are vinyl covered partial board (on his anyway), and, on his the doors are falling off, and vinyl is delaminating. He has also complained about factory response to his queries, this may be just a personal feeling.

IPhone Silent Tone

On my iPhone there is no silent ring tone, but you can add one. I set that as my default tone to stop interruption from telemarketing, then set a regular ring tone for those I want to receive calls from. My problem is that sucky (or is it sickie ?) iTunes resets my ring tones, and removes my silent one ! ITunes alone is about enough to make me go back to Windows stuff. I can now replace my iPhone and iPad with new Windows devices that are getting pretty good reviews, AND regain control that is lost to Apple & iTunes. Come back Bill !

RE: Born Free, Coach House or Tiger Bengal?

I agree that the BF is a nicely built unit - but wasn't aware, until this thread, that a 4 wheel drive unit was being produced.
